What does Guru Maharaj Mean with the Kalki Avatar Writings.

Kalki is the Avtar of Kaljug.

but surely Guru Nanak Dev ji must be the avtar since he brought the mahamantar and jugti to beat kalyug

I d not mean that he is avtar of devta but app parmeshar to give us the true and final path above all other attempts to teach us humans, If rather when Khalsa Raaj comes to pass then what work would Kalki have left to do ?

Indeed... that's why I'm a bit confused. There is much talk of Kalki Avatar. But Guru Maharaj Is the Avatar...

I had heard that basically Khalsa will take care of Kalki Avatars Work.

This is one of the strangest topics I've read about. In "pure" Sikhi there is no such thing as a coming messiah, as Christians have with the second coming, Jews their messiah, Muslims with a great hero, Hindus with Kalki. That being said, there is a messiah that exists; however, hasn't let the world known that it's the one it's looking for:Khalsa!

Why Khalsa?

1. Only group ever to not fight for their name, but for Waheguru's name

2. Only organization to be born equally with all the members

3. Only organization in which the founder became a follower

4. Only group to be created with the death and resurrection of 5 bodies,(Christianity has 1)

These reasons explain why Guru Sahib Khalsa is the messiah, Bhai Jeevan Singh said,"Khalistan mango Khalsa Bano"

Bhai bhai sahib bhai gurdas ji says in vaars that : Ikas ikas bhramand vich dass dass( 10,10) kar avtaar utaara .Meaning that there are so many many galaxies which cannot be counted and in each and every galaxy the vishnu of that galaxy takes 10 avatars (main ) and 14 are gaun (medium) so total 24. Vishnu takes 10 main avatars in all those planets of that galaxy where human form is introduced and these 10+14 avatars is taken in time range of 4 yugs (satyug 17,28,000 years+treta 12,96000years +dwapar yuga 8,64000 years +kalyug 4,32000 years ).But maha-vishnu (akall purakh ) does not take avatar in all planets or galaxies of material creation.This the reason guru gobind singh ji says : Raam aur krishan ke avatar bhi anek hai ,and Kaal purakh kii deh meh kotak bishan mahesh kot indar bhrama kitte rav sass crore jalesh.So we are lucky that mahaa vishnu(akall purakh ji) has taken avtaar in our planet in 10 forms .(here 10 is of guru nanak dev ji to guru gobind singh ji).Karninama is same in all texts but rajnama is slightly different with a line saying (Nehkalank hoe avtaar ,apraadhi paapi kare parhaar).Now we have to understand this deeply: Kalki avatar of dasam granth is avatar of vishnu that will come at 4,31,580 years (appx.) from the beginning of kalyug .And at that time maximum age of human is 20 years and maximumheight is 3 feet.But very few peoole know that out of 4 ,32000 years about 4 lakh years there is no civilization on that very planet only rishis remain and civilaization takes place near about 2 times .Once just after dwapar and that continues for little time and then next civilization takes place after 4 lakh years of 3 feet height people.Bu t now let us see the fate of present kalyug because maha-vishnu(akaal purakh ji) has taken avatar in this planet in this kalyug .That fate is written in karninama and the nehkalank mentioned there will come to begin khalsa raaj of 14000 years like narsingh avatar killed harnakash and gave raaj to prehlaad . THIS NEHKALANK AVATAR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT KALKI AVATAR WHICH ARRIVES CEREMONIALLY TO BEGIN NORMAL SATYUG OF 17,2800 years ,BUT THIS NEHKALANK IS LIKE NARSINGH AVATAR WHICH WILL COME TO CREATE SATYUG WITIN KALYUG .
