Suggestions for Sikh Young Generation which our Gurudwara Management Committees/ Orga. can take up for Sikh Youth without bringing their cheap politics and bias policy. "This is the post suggesting how we can help to put Indian Sikh youth back into sikhi"

1. As we know the first teacher of a child is his or her mother and father & family too. So the first and the most important responsibility w.r.t. developing a child with sikhi sanskars is that family (mother, father and others) should be into Sikhi, setting an example for the child to join them in following sikhism.

2. Educational/ Carrer Development of Sikh Youth

As every sikh should give daswand (1/10th of his or her income)in guru ghar and for the welfare of the poor and needy (garib da mu(mounth), guru dee golak (treasure). As we all know there is no lack of money / resources in our gurudwaras & committees but question is that whether we are using that money wisely or not ?

Merely constructing gurudwara sahib building, putting gold , spending on nagar kirtan, langars etc. are actually not fulfillig the purpose esp. for Youth.

Instead of that we should use more n more money for setting up chain of modern quality Schools, Technical & Vocational Institutes and Universities with essential Sikhism education & activities, participation in human welfare activities etc.) also gives privileage to Sikh Kids/ Youth even of lower income group.

Setting up more colleges for Sikh Youth to learn Sikh Philosphy, Kirtan Vidya, promoting educat

ed Sikh Youth to become Sikh Parcharks so that they can inspire Youth more efficiently.

Setting up Placement consultancy agency for various Sikh Professional for helping in search of jobs

3. Setting up Sports Academies for Sikh Youth where they can get modern age training for various Sports (Athletics, Outdoor and Indoor games).

4. Setting up of Matrimonial Agency helping out Sikh Youth to find a right kind of life partner, envisaging & encouraging marriage as per Sikhism. Arrange marriage ceremony esp. for youth of lower income grade, discouraging wasting money on unnecessary rituals and dowry system etc.

5. More participation in Social Welfare Programmes by constructing common hospitals or dispensaries, libraries, old age ppl house, orphan house etc.

yes, i agree with all of this, but the problem is where will the money come from to fund these?, i doubt the government will! :D @

In addition to my earlier suggestions, I think its now time to change the agent of future i.e. participation of youth in the management of gurudwara and other sikhism related activities should go up so give them adequate exposure & feel resposible.

My Dear brother, I know for all those activities who need lot of fund but still some of these activities are partially running or can be start up with the existing funds with organization like SGPC. As far Government is concerned they can give some relief and approvals but we can not expect much fund from them.

For example, In Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management committee is running 8-10 schools, 3 colleges under delhi university, 5-8 technical & vocational instts, one medical college to be started soon, one hospital etc. but most of them are suffering from mismanagement and under the control of ppl who are bias and not up to the mark.

So by erdicating this mismanagement and shutoff mis-match ppl from our existing facilities will not only increase the present pace but also open up the future path.

i totally agree. i think the most important thing is to remember to speak punjabi and keep goin to the gurdwara after getting married
