Hello everybody,

I did ardas yesterday after Kirtan Sohila and I got up at amrit vela. I did simran and Japji Sahib. I am going to keep going and hopefully I will keep on increasing what I do. I have been motivated by what bhenji said about life becoming awesome just by waking up at amrit vela. I will hold on to that. Early to bed, early to rise. I also want to keep talking on this website as it has helped, so please let's keep talking to each other and motivate each other.

yaaay! Well done veer ji!

Whatever happens now don't stop just keep it up! Baba Nand Singh ji says that the sikh who gets up at amrit vela and does nitnem, Guru ji aap ohda hath farde a! So lucky you! Guru ji is holding your hand so this time make sure you don't let go!

Also don't ever let go of your postive attitude becaue thats whats going to get you to your goal - eventually you'll be doing your full nitnem and become an Amritdhari babbar sher again!

Waheguru ji kirpa rakhan! :)

Frankly speaking SinghGS bro, we have a wonderful penjee(Usernametaken) on this website....

And I think most of the members will agree with me.

She is so lively, so full of mastee, full of innocence at the same, tender, a good sense of humor, humble, and always ready to give a helping hand at the best of her ability.

You yourself can see her these qualities mentioned above, her kind angelical touch, has pushed you to become a better person, so now it is your turn to not let her down, and make her proud for being so humanitarian.

May God bless her always!

AWWWWWW VEER JI!!! THATS SOOOOO CUTE!

I just looked at your message and thought "OMG all those big words! ohvi mere layi!" haha

Although im sooo pleased and happy to see you doing my praising but honestly i must say that i am not worthy of it! Whatever i am today is all down to waheguru ji who has blessed me with the amazing sangat of Gursikhs and this website where i've learnt so much from people like you!

Most the stuff i know is mainly from reading replies of the sangat here and i just rephrase everything everyone says but in my own words haha!

So actually you guys all are more worthy of these praises rather than myself, i am just the dust of your feet... :respect: Waheguru ji tuhanu chardikala bakshan

But YAY :excited: thank you for giving me so much pyar veere, just pray to maharaj ji that he gives me naam simran and kirtan di daath AND keeps me away from hankaar especially after this post LOL!

you should not do anything to please others, should be done to help urself.

Pen ji is right, because eventually we will all fade away and only you and waheguru ji will be left!

Like Sant Waryam singh ji says - "ik sajjan sab sajjan" God is all you need :)

Harsharan000, I know you were refering to bhenji. But it is my responsibility to love all. I meant that to everyone.

Today I did Jaap Sahib also. Also I was volunteering today and someone met me afterwards who was interested in me doing work for his daughter. We exchanged contact details and I will contact her. I've been working all evening to reach my goal. Sometimes I felt inspired, sometimes I didn't but I kept working. So I am quite happy with how today has gone. I am feeling motivated to walk the path though.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
