WJKK WJKF,

I am 14 years old, trying to become a real Sikh. I just wanted to know how other Gursikhs spend their day on Sikhi, such as the time they wake up and the banis they do and when they sleep and everything that happens in your day. I just wanted to see if I can model it. Please also provide the times, so that I know how much time it takes for each part of the schedule.

Bul Chuk Maaf Kareo.

Thank you very much.

It doesn't matter how much time you put in, or what time you do what. It's about the amount of love you put in. Spiritual progression comes from love and meditation, focus on creating that loving connection instead of worrying what time to do what.

But the basic schedule for most people is:

Waking up between 2-6 am. Starting abihas as they wake up and doing ishnaan, combing hair and brushing teeth. Sitting down and doing naam abihas for however much time they need to settle their mind (could be 5 mins, or could be an hour). Then doing at least 5 bani basic nitnem. Ardas

Then doing their normal daily things but keeping their abihas going under their breath.

At around 5-7 pm (before dinner) - sitting for more naam abihas and doing rehiras + ardas

Then at bedtime doing rakhiya da shabad + sohila sahib and ardas.

Between those times everyone's different. Find what works for you and do it with love. That is all.

Bhul chuk maaf

Well, I try to keep a strict schedule of everything I do but I usually have to adjust or change but here is a basic day that I try to aim for. I am still quite young so I still go to school.

6:00 am Wake up and do Nitnem.Ardas. Get ready for school

7:30 am Leave home

3:00 pm Arrive home and eat

4:00 pm Do homework ( can take anywhere from half an hour to 3 hours)

6:00 pm Rehras followed by kirtan and naam abhiyas followed by ardas

7:30 pm Shaster vidya - Practice (this usually includes a workout plus the training. Sometimes I work out at luch at school so that saves time)

9:00 pm Late night abhiyaas followed by sohila and ardas and then sleep

Again, as you can see it is busy so I don't always stick perfectly to it but basic rehat is still there.
