Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

If you're going to worship a lion, its probably best practice not to try it in person on health & safety grounds... (especially if its hungry).

What a ignorant statement to make, no one is worshipping a lion there- there is a sakhi behind it, its there as symbolism. Whats next people are going to target? why stand and matha taik infront of nishan sahib? Lets remove all symbolism of sikhism including nishan sahib like teja singh/reformist sikhs did. Please do try to see things in context.

What is going on in the above picture is no different from what Namdari do.

Atleast its expressed openly in stages unlike other groups who internalize their emotions regarding personality worship, conveniently downplay it to score points and they let personality comes in before gurmat theology in its totality and shabad gyan, people those who claim they don't beleive in saints and satkar are more influenced personality worship than anyone yet they claim they don't beleive in sants or touched their feet..externally touching feet or not touching feet does not matter when one mind is that influenced by group/personality worship as indeed everything is in mind. Baba Nand Singh Ji never liked to have their photo taken because they used to say that people will start doing pooja to it in the future.

Does anyone know when the Nanaksar group started worshipping photos?

How can the Nanaksar group be taught that worshipping photos is wrong?

No one is worshiping pictures, satkar and worshipping are two different things. Satkar is given respect-glorifying respecting sarguna aspect , worshipping is doing ardhana -bringing picture in mind and doing meditation of it.

For eg, sri guru gobind singh ji mentions jale hari, thale hari in sri akaal ustat he calls water hari, thale-earth hari does that mean he is worshipping water? or worshipping earth?

when maharaj says jale hari it means all water is hari not only ganga or yamuna and in context to topic all moorats made by akal purakh ji is eqaul.... it is better to worship god made moorats then man made moortis.. just 2 cents by this kookar

The above is a method of putting aasan and is acceptable in sikhi.

Where does it say this is acceptable?

Who said anything about ganga or yumuna? and who made baba nand singh (guru maharaj saints/knights) ? god? or devil- man made? who made baba nand singh picture? ultimately god made or man made himself? who made man made pictures? devil or god? In grand scheme of things, there is no man made-devil made, its only god made everything is part of hakum. Who made picture of sri guru gobind singh ji at hazoor sahib? god made or man made? if you think man made therefore imperfect in your eyes, please start petition to remove sri guru gobind singh ji picture from hazoor sahib first?

worshipping image of god and a saint is 2 different things...in hazoor sahib with the picture there is always prakash of saroops of maharaj ji and prayer is always offered to guru granth sahib ... and moreover who is this keera to question marayada of takth sahib ji...

Not talking about original picture in the post but generally speaking picture of guru maharaj in intial meditaiton stages is acceptable.

Gurbani is so vast that it applies to each and every human being at different different state of mind and consciousness.

Gur Ki Moraat Man Mein Dyaan Gur ka shabad mantar man maan - beginner stage (sargun upasana- incorporating imagery of Guru and Shabad together to have dhyan parpak- making foundation of dhyan strong)

Gur Morat Guru Shabad Hai - intermediate stage- (still towards sargun, start slowly going towards nirgun gyan) - Eh akhar kirh jaingaie, vo akhar inn mein nahi | Akhar Dristh Man Jaita Nanak Parbhram Nirlaipa ||

Sabh Gobind Hai Sabh Gobind Hai - practicing seeing sabh gobind in everything/self enquiry to get rid of duality and ego- advanced stage

Perceiving bhram (Sabh Gobind Hai Sabh Gobind Hai ) in everything partakh in every moment- (bhramgyan stage-anubhav of nirgun gyan).

veerji daas is just a amoeba in front of gurmukhs like u.. lets end this here... cheers

daas is not questioning pics of guru sahib but just just was saying that a topper cannot take place of teacher

The point of my posts was to uphold gurmat sidhant, nothing regarding myself..utlimately no one is higher or lower bro..we are all one.

In presence of Guru Granth sahib and sangat Baba Nand Singh sat in low ditch. It was his Nimrata, and if sangat insist to see him in puranmashi samagams he would always sit behind Guru Granth Sahib. Now if Nanaksarias have misinterpreted his teachings then Baba Nand Singh is not blame, Just like Sikhs are going a downhill path, its not Guru Sahibs fault. "Poora Satguru kya kare je sikhan me chook".

The True Name, Sat Naam, is the food which I offer to You.   Just amazing...just beautiful... Sat Bani Sat Sree Akal.
    • Blase means to be indifferent or unconcerned. However, you perceive my writing on Dasam Bani being reintroduced to be both nonchalant (why don't we bring in another French word) but also emotional and angry at the same time. That kind of makes for an oxymoron; contradictory terms.  When attempting to have any genuine and fruitful discussion I have experienced it is helpful to not speculate or make conjecture about the viewpoints of another. If curious or in doubt, just ask; ask with the innocent interest of a child. Other genuine level-headed people will gladly oblige. Fools like myself may otherwise find injury in your guesswork.   Bringing in Samparda Kathavachaks fixes the symptom not the illness. The root problem that will fester and multiply is unaddressed. Is this a strategy for the long term that will bring unity and togetherness in the Panth? No. I have posted an excerpt of my last post on this topic below for your convenience, often my arguments become TL;DR.     Again, conjecture and scorn for a person you genuinely want to have dialogue with may not be useful. Some may misinterpret your heartfelt intentions.   If I'm not mistaken, it was rescinded after just two years!  Here is the difference: When the Sikhs took the jagir from the Mughals, they took it after deliberation, discussion, and the approval of the Sarbat Khalsa Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has built no such discussion and consensus building into his strategy, not even with the Sant Samaj. Heaps of them condemn his political choices.  Getting the discourse changed to Gurmat is good. But the underlying problems remain unaddressed; problems that do the most to hold the Panth back as outlined in my above post.  The jagir allowed the Sikhs to consolidate different jathas under the leadership of Kapur Singh into the Dal Khalsa. Factions were brought together.  They used the political calm to develop their autonomous power and establish their sovereignty This was political power and control that they were able to grow for the Panth. The jagir was taken away very quickly, but look at what they accomplished in that time. The Khalsa was brought together in unity to fight for our future prosperity.  I highly doubt the SIkhs who had been hunted down by Zakariya Khan suddenly became enthralled by his friendship. They took the jagir in a collective, panthic decision and likely knew they could be double-crossed. But they mustered their forces and were in a stronger position for when it did happen.  In all the major issues of the Panth that I have outlined in my previous posts, Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has made little headway in ameliorating them.  No political autonomy is established for the Panth. The Indian government regulated the SGPC, the SGPC in turn is run by Badal and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). There is no autonomy or control of the Panth in its own affairs, we are led by the string where the political elite wish to go.  As I stated previously: Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma's strategy gives the Panth no autonomy, no control, and he has not pushed forward the Panth's interests in any worthwhile long-lasting way.
