Plans Of A Big Building For Sikhi Parchar In Delhi? Not Viraasat-E-Khalsa!

If there was a huge building made somewhere in India, like Delhi or perhaps Punjab, or where there is a prominent/sizable Sikh population, what could it be used for in order to do Sikhi parchar to youth and children, or generally Sikhs of all ages? Like there is Badal's controversial Viraasat-E-Khalsa, but that promotes a lot of Punjabi culture. This should be just for Sikhi as a way to do parchar? What would you do in the building or put in there (if Sikhs got together and built such a huge building)? Ideas? Please discuss...

I think Virasat-e-khalsa is the best thing that punjab government ever did. I understand your point about punjabi culture but i do not totally reject our old punjabi culture. We do have young ones who hate the culture part for various reasons... maybe it is something that some of us cannot understand as they were never part of that lifestyle.

I think our focus should be on prachar which should not require buildings or other mega projects. We waste our time in planning/building stuff while ignoring the most important part of the project "Prachar". Visit pind by pind and do prachar, live the life of nomad and take shelter in already exiting networks of thousands of gurdwraas in punjab.

Sikhistan, hit the nail on the head. We have too many oversized buildings. We have massive gurdwaray, can just about pay the bills yet no one to use them. Utilise what we have instead of building more huge buildings. Its all about Parchaar.

And we as Sikhs really need to look into conservation and environmental issues.

I was just asking Sikhistan if he was sure Punjab Government was behind the idea of Virasat-e-Khalsa or was it the sangat. How was the project-plan executed and completed, when every CM has to sign that he/she will provide funds for the continuation of the project. In other words, irrelevant who the CM is, the project would have been completed in one way or the other. It was somehow completed within Badal's tenure and which is why he took all the credit for it and received 'Faqr-e-qaum' - which I think was a pure fraud.
