someone said that in Sikhi it does not matter if you keep kesh as Guru Granth Sahib says the following:

ਕਬੀਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਇਕ ਸਿਉ ਕੀਏ ਆਨ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
Kabīr parīṯ ik si▫o kī▫e ān ḏubiḏẖā jā▫e.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ The Gurmukh lives in the Fear of God, the True Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੨੭॥ O Nanak, the Gurmukh merges in Truth. ||27||

ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Inner-knower of my heart.

ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮੀ ॥ The Naam is so useful to me.

ਰੋਮਿ ਰੋਮਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ The Lord's Name permeates each and every hair of mine.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ The Perfect True Guru has given me this gift. ||1||

Guru Sahib describes Akal Purakh

ਤੇਰੇ ਬੰਕੇ ਲੋਇਣ ਦੰਤ ਰੀਸਾਲਾ ॥ Your eyes are so beautiful, and Your teeth are delightful.

ਸੋਹਣੇ ਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਲੰਮੜੇ ਵਾਲਾ ॥ Your nose is so graceful, and Your hair is so long.

ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਸੁਇਨੇ ਕੀ ਢਾਲਾ ॥ Your body is so precious, cast in gold.

ਸੋਵੰਨ ਢਾਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮਾਲਾ ਜਪਹੁ ਤੁਸੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ ॥ His body is cast in gold, and He wears Krishna's mala; meditate on Him, O sisters.

ਜਮ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਹੁ ਖੜੀਆ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਮਹੇਲੀਹੋ ॥ You shall not have to stand at Death's door, O sisters, if you listen to these teachings.

ਹੰਸ ਹੰਸਾ ਬਗ ਬਗਾ ਲਹੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਜਾਲਾ ॥ From a crane, you shall be transformed into a swan, and the filth of your mind shall be removed.

ਬੰਕੇ ਲੋਇਣ ਦੰਤ ਰੀਸਾਲਾ ॥੭॥ Your eyes are so beautiful, and Your teeth are delightful. ||7||

Kabeer jee never says that its ok to cut it. But after these tuks above, ask your friend "Why cut it at all?" Once someone has reached an advanced stage of Naam Simran, every single hair on their body does Simran, so why lose out on the kirpa by cutting them? Hang on, I am not there yet, lol, so don't ask me anymore. This is what Gurbani says, and this is what genuine seekers of Vaheguru, the true Gurmukhs have achieved.

ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਮੂੰਡਿਆ ਨਹੀ ਕੇਸ ਮੁੰਡਾਏ ਕਾਂਇ ॥

Kabīr man mūʼndi▫ā nahī kes mundā▫e kāʼn▫e.

Kabeer, you have not shaved your mind, so why do you shave your head?

Khalsa Ji, any individual tuk from Gurbani, has to be taken in accordance to the sidanth of Gurbani as a whole...

u r taking the meaning in a wrong sense because i suppose u have copied this tuk from srigranth . org or some other gurbani site which is a very very good site to refer bani online but there is a problem that the site is merely translating the gurumukhi from guru granth sahib ji to english and not explaining the shabad there is a difference in word to word translation and gurbani to arth which is teeka better refer prof sahib singh jis teeka guru granth darpan and there is a detailed explaination to the bani go on ang 1365 baba kabeer ji's salok

the salok doesnt encourage not to keep hair but to explain that

in ancient times there where these sages followers of dattatre an incarnation of vishnu who implemented it on to his followers to be jatta dhari grow kes and nails apply bhibuti (white powder) that sadhus apply (this also is mentioned by satguru dasam pitaji valiye do jahan dhan dhan sahib sri guru gobind singh ji maharaj in his highness's autobiography ab main apni katha bakhano about dattatre ) if u see the salok ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਂਬੇ ਕੇਸ ਕਰੁ means u have to increase the length if u dont touch your kes they will grow by the lords will but it is clearly mention bhave laambe kes kar means u purposely grow them into jatta ofcourse there is no mention about jatta in this as from salok no 13 to salok no 40 the mud (main) vichar is about people who have forgotten deenu(spirituality ) and are doing duni(moh maya vas paye log) da vapar (business only to achieve economincal social status and power) ਕਬੀਰ ਦੀਨੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਦੁਨੀ ਸਿਉ ਦੁਨੀ ਨ ਚਾਲੀ ਸਾਥਿ ॥ ਪਾਇ ਕੁਹਾੜਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਾਫਲਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥੧੩॥

if u read the salok before the 25 salok that is salok no 24 in this salok baba ji states only about duniadars like raje scholars (pandit) jagirdars ਕਬੀਰ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਰਾਮੁ ॥ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਰਾਜੇ ਭੂਪਤੀ ਆਵਹਿ ਕਉਨੇ ਕਾਮ ॥੨੪॥

and in this salok babaji states only about tyagis such as jatta dharis bhibhutimals and shaven heads as both are tyagis and have given up grahast so either tyagi or grahastis if there's no love with akal purakh vaheguru the end is same

YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE WHOLE SHABAD TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS TALKING ABOUT !!!

This is what happens when people start discussions with simple One Liners. -you can manipulate one liners to mean anything.

Sikhi doesn't work that way although I know our muslim brothers operate in that manner with one liners from their holy texts.
