So why are gurdwaras preaching about the wrong sheikh farid for sometime, they even got an imaginary painting of the wrong sheikh farid?

The reason Sikhs are so proud of Baba Farid Ji (Brahm Farid Sani) is that Baba Farid Ji Maharaj believed 100% only in Gurmat and were totally non-Muslim and against Prophet Muhammad despite the danger of being killed for being an apostate from Islam. Many Sikhs in east Punjab claim descent from Baba Farid Ji just like you claim descent from the Muslim Diwan Badr-ud-Din Sulaiman from the best part of 800 years ago. Most Pakistani's have foreign ancestry I have often heard them say. Even some Pakistani Jatts claim they are descended from Arab Ansari families of Medina.

Our Guru's and saints were also very close with many muslim saints.

Here is famous sakhi of one our very famous sikh saint-sant karam singh hoti mardan and muslim saint:

~ Meeting with Fakir Sharafdin ~

Rawalpindi was 30 miles from potohar; on horse back sant ji overnight in some orchid and left early in the morning. The second night he stayed at sarifnagar at the sant's dera, from there he came to Fateh Jung. At this place there resided a enlightened Fakir Sharafin. Fakir Along with his murids was going out for his meditation, but stood at the end of the road. Seeing this his murids asked him that why he stopped. Fakir said that he was standing there for the darshan of allah's beloved person. Baba Lal Singh Ji and Sant Karam Singh Ji approached on horse back. On seeing the fakir, both of them got down, Fakir said Salam. Sant Ji wished him and asked how he was. Fakir Ji said that on seeing you I have got all the happiness. Fakir asked that why this time, darshan took so long. Sant Ji replied that we both are the same and by grace of Allah and will keep meeting.

It was not an old man or young boy. It has no sorrow not any confusion.

Fakir said, young man do have parsad and then carry on. Sant Ji replied,

"Mian Ji Allah's bhandara is never ending and his presence is with me all the time.

Fakir's eyes became wet with love, he then plucked barries and offered to Sant Ji and baba lal singh ji. he expected the berries as blessing from him and then asked his leave. He reached the boundaries of Sant Chand Shah and the fakir with murida went to the mosque. Murida asked the fakir about the conversation with sant ji and from how long you know him. Fakir ji answered that their relation is not limited to one birth but many births, which only allah's beloved people can understand. In a very short pan of time- Sant Ji was going to be very famous.

Chand Shah was famous for purity and truthfuleness. He went forward to receive them and welcomed them with love and gratitude. Chanda Shah possessed sau sakhi which was a great wealth received by his great grand parents as a blessing from kalagian wale- siri guru gobind singh ji. He gave the sau sakhi to sant ji. He ordered them to keep it a secret as this granth had many things hidden in it.

His Identity is important because it changes the context of the messages aswell, especially in parchar because if we are being told about a man who was guru nanaks devotee things change compared to a muslim who went around converting infidels who is made out to be guru nanaks equal and for some muslims guru nanaks teacher where guru is taught to be inferior to him. The message impact change also changes the themes and tones of gurbani on topics such as meat for one or fasting or passing or devoution

Further to my prevoius post , Chishti is SEct which Farid ji belonged to , Farooquis are direct descendents of Baba Fari Shakarganj .As far my knowledge , Baba Farid ji was disciple of Khwaja Bakhtiar Kaki , Who in turn was disciple og Gharib Nawaz of Ajmer , Baba Bakhtyar Kaki was based in Hansi , while Baba Farid ji made Pak pattan his Base , after living for a while at Farikot . It is Said he passed on his baton to Hazrat Nizamuddin ( hailing from Badayoon in Present UP ) who established his base at a place near Delhi which is now in Delhi metropolitan area .Alauddin Quadri ,One of the Sons of Baba Farid Ji's sister was also his great disciple , who due to his self discipline was given subtitle as Sabri , made his base at Kaliyar ( Saharanpur District in UP) whose disciple are called Sabris .

Sheikh Ibrahim or Shaikh Brahm as described in Janam Sakhi, is not documented as Head of Chishti Sect in history books I read so far . If someone has read please give me the reference of such book , so I may also benefit from it. thanx

The bani of fareed which is present in Sikh scripture is of Sheikh abraham, not of Baba fareed shakarganj.... 

Sheikh brahm became chela of Guru Nanak...........
