Is buying stocks gambling?

I have managed to come into a bit of money. And was wondering, post dasvand settlement, is it wrong to buy shares?

The acquisition I propose to make will be calculated. (I.e. gor'rment backed Lloyds shares).

Thoughts appreciated.

It isn't gambling if you know the market very well. If you're not clued up and don't know the ins and outs of your investment, then yes I think that would constitute gambling..

If you've come into a £million or less, that isn't really very much money at all and will disappear quickly so invest it wisely bro.
