Suffering Half Dead Animals - What Is The Sikh Thing To Do?

My cats tends to do this with frogs and birds! They do this more often if you've been extra nice to them recently so they bring a "present" to you. I find it decreases if you spray your cat with just plain water to indicate you don't approve! A small water gun will do but only whilst they have their prey.

At least this stops them bringing half dead animals into your garden/house. I have two brothers and their quite big so as you can imagine by morning my garden was littered. Even had to deal with moles and a neighbours chicken once but then that could have been a fox. Not pleasant!

but seriously, would you kill a human if the human was suffering, just as the mouse is? i would kill the mouse in one quick blow with a knife or something then do an ardas. if there is a chance of it recovering, then you could take the mouse to a vet. to prevent the massacre of even more mice, teach your cat that killing mice is bad.

Massacre of mice? That cat killing the mouse is nature. There is nothing bad about it, it's how the world works

we have mice in our garage,i have set traps for them, and killed 14 mice so far this year.

One mouse was unfortunate enough to get trapped just by the edge of his mouth, and i had to put the poor thing out of its misery, (the traps if they get the mouse by the neck kill instantly) and i couldnt bring myself to hit it with a hammer, so i picked the trap up and put it in a plastic box and filled it would water, but seeing the little critter drown was worse.

I should have hit it with something instead to kill it straightout, rather than watch its little legs twitching and shaking as it died.

I thought about this and then came across a verse from an ang of the Guru. It mentions something about how we don't worry about hungry baby birds but they're still fed by the Guru and he takes care of all.

Maybe it was in that mouse's karam to be tortured to death? These days I try to avoid interfering but if the pain is too great to bear then I imagine it can only be humane to end that life's suffering if it cannot be saved.

Traps are an inhumane way to rid your garage of mice! "or critters, how you so eloquently put it!"

"the traps if they get the mouse by the neck kill instantly" - Are you a doctor, vet or physician? can you conclusively swear by this?

"i couldnt bring myself to hit it with a hammer, so i picked the trap up and put it in a plastic box and filled it would water, but seeing the little critter drown was worse" - I think you should stick to your Jhatka fetish, you big strong warrior you!!

"I should have hit it with something instead to kill it straightout, rather than watch its little legs twitching and shaking as it died" - I see you are an attention seeker! Glad to see your true colours
