Are We Really A Marshal Community?

1947 proved we r a martial community, we chopped muslims into pieces from our areas n also sent the rest of em packin. i say this coz they started it, and we finished it! With massive difference in popualtion sizes, we showed em/whoever started the violence not 2 mess with us. We dont discriminate or start fights, but we aint gona get mugged off.

Well define "Maritial Community" first may be?

Historically , four civilizations have shaped the world we live in today ...

These are : Greek , Romans , Muslims , Westerners ....

These are broad terms offcourse..but you get the idea....

So basically , there are thousands upon thousands of different religions , cultures , people , communities etc in the world...but there are just ONLY and ONLY two civilizations that are called "Global Civilizations"

These are :-

1- Western-Christian Civilization

2- MiddleEastern-Islamic Civilization

So only THESE are the civilizations that must be called "Maritial" because they lead the WHOLE world... The true martial civilizations which lead humanity! (Greek and Roman no longer exist..but their influence is still there!) ...

From 7th to 18th century , Islamic Civilization was super-power of the world and was dominating the entire world ( Arab Empire , Persian Empire , Mughal Empire , Ottoman Empire , Mamluks etc...All the leading powers of the world were "Muslim Rules" ) .... After 18th century , industrial revulation changed the game and now Western-Christian civilization is dominating the world ( UK , Spain , France , United States , Russia etc are all "Christian Rules" though with secular outlook) ....

So rather than taking pride in being 'Maritial' and "chopping Muslims" , Sikh youth like you should work hard and 'expand' the realm of Sikhi...won't you agree?

No doubt Sikhs are brave...but in today's world...intellect/technology trumps bravery... Muslims are learning this lesson the hard way...My advice to Sikh brothers would be to learn it the easy way....

Keep your bravery...that is all yours..and must be there...but focus on political power of Sikhs too...

My post only contains facts so I hope anybody is not offended here.

Regarding 1947, it is a sad thing to have happened. Muslims should not be proud of Sikhs and Hindus being killed and neither should Sikhs be proud of Muslims being killed. 1 million human beings in Punjab died needlessly. Communities were separated permanently. Children were orphaned and women were raped by both sides regardless of who started it. It's probably the most tragic chapter in Punjab's history and should not have happened. The Brits really screwed up the modern world.

Auzer, I haven't read too many of your posts, but I will say I somewhat agree with your post although it isn't accurate to say Sikhs aren't a martial community. Sikhs are a relative new race and did have one of the most powerful empires during the Sikh empire from Maharaja Ranjit Singh's time. Even Britishers published the greatness of the Sikh empire's modern weaponry, battle tactics and especially the cannons.

The key to why the Sikhs lost their power was like you said, due to underestimating the power of the battle done behind closed doors - (bribery, treachery and lack of foresight). The key for Sikhs is to know our history along with history of people around the world to empower ourselves for the future.

We need to become highly educated in world politics/domestic politics and how you get your interest across to the wider spectrum and know history of ourselves (sadly most Sikhs who claim to be Sikhs don't even know it) and world history/.

Guys, why is this turning into a Islam bashing thread? brother auzer didn't insult our religion, why you guys insulting his religion like this? We must make ourselves spiritually strong, but not by showing others as low. We must lift ourselves to a level that our Guru intended us to be as.

why has my post been deleted? for speakin the truth? i never bashed islam ONCE in my post, simple facts bowt how muslim empires spread emselves, n how this non-beliver is pushin his crap on our SIKHsangat! this is gettin ridiculous, i made so many rebuttals n good points, MODS i demand u re-consider n put my magnificent post back up, that guy was full of it bowt his crappy so called "heritage" of empires, whic h was built on rape n zabardasti behaviour. wud they have deleted a pro-sikh post on a muslim board, answer is YES, n wud they have deleted a response 2 that post by a muslim, NEVER!!!

Reposted here, don't name call and post things that condone violence. I've edited your post and took a few things out that would be deemed as promoting violence or insensitivity.

silly like u make me laugh, how u glorify ur islamic rule, which was substantial, but also illegal and done thru the sword and in forced/zabardasti fashion on the ppl of the land. FACT is, isnt it a coincedence that the 2 largest religions in the world (in terms of numbers) r the 2 religions which have been spread by the sword? The romans did it, british did it, arabs (who have robbed iran of its beautiful pre-islamic culture) did it, afghans did it, turks did it, muslim mughals did it, all done by the sword. Thats the only reason ur religion and "civilisation" was a superpower for many centuries. next u will b tellin me how jahanghir and aurangzeb r ur heroes.

Also regardin my comments, [CUT] we cudnt jus sit back, despite bein outnumbered, we taught alot of ppl a lesson they wudnt forget. i find it incredibly funny how u scoff at my pride of choppin ppl in 47' yet ur religion has spread in this exact same way.

FACT is also, if sikhs durin the misls and maharaja ranjit singhs period, had decided 2 do wat islamic rulers did, which is 2 forcefully convert the ppl of the land conqured, THERE WUD B NO MUSLIMS north of delhi today, aka NO PAKISTAN/KASHMIR/TRIBAL AREAS, possibly even NO Muslims in AFGHANISTAN, who knows where hari singh nalwa and the nihangs would have stopped.

The editor of the titt Bits newspaper of England wrote in one of his columns around 1881:- "Some people might think that Napoleon was a great General. Some might name Marshall Hendenburgh, Lord Kitchener, General Karobzey or Duke of Wellington etc. And some going further might say Halaku Khan, Changez Khan, Richard or Allaudin etc. But let me tell you that in the North of India a General of the name of Hari Singh Nalwa of the Sikhs prevailed. Had he lived longer and had the sources and artillery of the British, he would have conquered most of Asia and Europe…."

the only muslim emperor i ever rated was emperor akbar, who like maharaja ranjit singh, allowed ppl 2 follow watever dharam they wanted, if this had been done by any of the evil muslim rulers, then most of the middle east wud still b jewish/christian populated, afghanistan wud b a buddhist country and iran wud b a zoroastrian superpower. i only rate sufi's, who have spread islam through naam jappin gods name thru music, which ironically muslims r disgusted by.

here's a question, AFTER 1947' the borders had closed, 40% of pakistans population was non-muslim (sikh/hindu/christian), now in 2012, minorities population stands at a whoppin, get ready for it.......2-5%, WHERE HAVE THEY GONE? its in ur guys nature 2 never allow kafirs 2 enjoy freedom, so thast how ur "superpower" spreads all over the gaff

romeo done!!

I asked my dad again and I confused the story up a bit.

The individual who took the group of Muslims to the border was actually my dad's nana ji. My great dada/nana ji. They gathered a group of 30 or so people and took them to the boarder. It's karams like these that carry onto the next generation. Hate and blind revenge of killing and hurting innocent people never goes unseen.

Great post. My friends great grand father had an interesting story as well. During partition, there was a Muslim girl left behind in her village(her entire family had fled). When some Punjabis caught hold of her they were going to kill her just then my friend's great grand father who was a respected man in the village arrived at the scene and saved that girl. He told them that from now on this girl is my daughter and no one will touch her. That girl stayed at my friend's great grand father's house for a few days after which she was safely escorted to the border by the elders of the village. She was also given some money and food by my friend's family so she could survive until she united with her family.

A Pakistani told me of an interesting story once. This story is from one of the indo pak wars(either 65 or 71). During the war, a Pakistani soldier was caught by Indian soldiers and made a prisoner. The officer in charge(who was a Sikh) began to interrogate the Pakistani soldier. When he asked him what village he was from it turned out that the village was the same village the Sikh officer was from before partition(in Pakistan). The Sikh officer then asked some more questions further confirming this fact. The Sikh officer was so over joyed on meeting someone from his original village that he let the Pakistani soldier go free. The Pakistani who told me this story was from this same village.

It's stories like this that really touch the soul. And it's such stories that we need to bring out before the people who lived it die off.

That's amazing, thanks for sharing this. Really does touch the soul.

Through the bloodshed there were diamonds as well who remained planted.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
