Best Ways Of Doing Amritvela?

Recommended Posts

I have been told that you are allowed to listen to nitnem on your media player without having to read it? the thing is that as i read my paath on an ipod touch, my eyes start to hurt abit even with the lowest brightness on display.

Any help?

also as im a school student i usually wake up at 5, have a shower and do nitnem before 6am. Is this still classified as amritvela?

please let me know your thoughts. thanks

Khalistani-lion jee, amritvela begins in the last quater of the night which is at 2am - 6am. The fruit of Amritvela is best tasted between 2-3, second best is 3-4 and last best is 5-6. Gurbani states to Jap naam and SING Akaal Purakh's gunns is beneficial. So, instead of listening to an audio its best to sing his guns such as sing Jaap Sahib, Akaal Ustat, Sri Kaal Ji Ki Ustat or sing praises of Naam such as Sukhmani Sahib etc.

Those who praise the Lord in the early hours of the morning and meditate on Him single-mindedly,

are the perfect kings; at the right time, they die fighting.

Agreed! Amritvela is between midnight and 06:00. Start as early as 1:00 am, this is the premium time to start simran, your rewards will be just incredible, your concentration will be super, your rewards will equal to donating 40 kg of diamonds if you meditate from 1:00 am to 2:00 am, 40 kg of gold for the next hour then silver and copper and so on.

A beautiful description of Amritvela by Guru Ram Das Ji on Ang 734:

Har Dhhan Rathan Javaehar Maanak Har Dhhanai Naal Anmrith Vaelai Vathai Har Bhagathee Har Liv Laaee ||

The Lord's wealth is like jewels, gems and rubies. At the appointed time in the Amrit Vaylaa, the ambrosial hours of the morning, the Lord's devotees lovingly center their attention on the Lord, and the wealth of the Lord.

Har Dhhan Anmrith Vaelai Vathai Kaa Beejiaa Bhagath Khaae Kharach Rehae Nikhuttai Naahee ||

The devotees of the Lord plant the seed of the Lord's wealth in the ambrosial hours of the Amrit Vaylaa; they eat it, and spend it, but it is never exhausted.

Halath Palath Har Dhhanai Kee Bhagathaa Ko Milee Vaddiaaee ||3||

In this world and the next, the devotees are blessed with glorious greatness, the wealth of the Lord. ||3||

May Guru Ji bless us all with Amritvela and Nitnem.
