Which Shabad To Do 125000 Times ?

Recommended Posts

Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal,

Dear all,

Please listen. Gurdev is singing.

ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ਗਣਤ ਬਿਨਾਸਿਉ ਸੰਸਾ ॥

मिटि गई गणत बिनासिउ संसा ॥

MiTi gaee gaRat binaasi▫o sansaa.

Counting is erased. Doubts are dispelled.

ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

नामि रते जन भए भगवंता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Naam rate jan bha▫e bhagvantaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. SGGS 390-6

Imbued with the Naam, people become bhagvantaa. ||1||Rahaa-o||

Do the jaap of the Shabad, from which everything else has emerged.

Guru Jee tells us in simple words:

Jap man Satnam, sadhaa Satnam.

What will then happen by doing so?

As the saying goes: Jaisa dhiyayeeh, vaisaa hoeeyah.  As  what you meditate /contemplate on, so you shall become.

So if we meditate on Him, we shall become one with.

What is the purpose of any jaap or paath? Isn´t it pleasing Guru jee? So if He tells us: Jap Man Satnam, sadhaa Satnam, why not follow it implicitly with sharda?

Then it is not to be done at a particular time or place only, but, while walking, eating, drinking, sleeping ....any time, at all times on which mind is free. Of course, one must sit at amritwela for example, and do this bhajan bandagee, but the more one does this jaap, the more His daya meher on us, so why to limit His Bakshish, when He wants to give us His kirpa with both His hands wide open?

I remember someone saying in Katha that simran of the shabad is like the gentle trickle of water on the mountain stone of our minds , the longer the contact/flow the deeper the groove , the deeper the groove the quicker to break the hardness of the mind . I wish you all deep rewarding abihaas in the coming days ...

I couldn't fit the whole in as it very long for this thread but it starts from ang 1421, yes it is very beautiful, Guru ji was answering 'What do I need to know/remember always?'

The path of sikhee, is a path of devotion, of love, of surrender of our wicked minds to the Beloved.

We can not take it as a business deal, like I give this so much to have that in return... That is not the right attitude.

When one loves someone, there are no calculations or speculations, it is just giving oneself selflessly to the beloved.

So should be our love for Wahiguru, at all times, at all places .... When He has given us so much without restrictions, why to limit Him with numbers and times?

The following are some words full of wisdom from the Bani, guiding us for if we want to play the game of love with Him:

jau qau pRym Kylx kw cwau ] (1412-2)
ja-o ta-o paraym khaylan kaa chaa-o.
If you desire to play this game of love with Me,

isru Dir qlI glI myrI Awau ] (1412-2)
sir Dhar talee galee mayree aa-o.
then step onto My Path with your head in hand.

iequ mwrig pYru DrIjY ] (1412-3)
it maarag pair Dhareejai.
When you place your feet on this Path,

isru dIjY kwix n kIjY ]20] (1412-3)
sir deejai kaan na keejai. ||20||
give Me your head, and do not pay any attention to public opinion

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਤੀ ਗਣਤ ਜਿ ਰਖੈ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਗਇਆ

One who enters into a calculated relationship with the True Guru loses everything, this world and the next

Not all about the counting, we all need to ready gurbani and take the message deep inside of us which is the hard part! I've tried counting and you end of just focusing on the number rather than the bani and i dont know about any of you guys but it increased my hankaar meter to the red zone if though i hadnt done much path! Its good to have targets but the aim should be to exceed these everyday day and not just stop at them!

Going slighlty of topic - a singh once told me its easy to sit in a kirtan programme for hours or read a lot of gurbani when the mind is yearing guru shabad, however guru's counter starts when you dont want to sit in kirtan and dont want to do path. That's when we have to battle our mind and force ourselves to do it!

Preet, R78, you have to learn to crawl before you can walk. Nevertheless, what you both imply is what we should aim for.

People drowning in Maya, such as myself, are given techniques, frameworks from Saadhoo Sant that give us something to work towards. 125,000 jaaps / 40 day routines / 11 day routines are all there to help you achieve the next step.

    • Sister i have nothing against someone who removes hair for medical purposes but what about the people who still wear a kirpan and do sharaab and other things. Not all amritdharis are bad i know but the ones that are really create hate and dislike for the ones who are not.    Its the experinces i have had in real life that have made me label amritdharis as frauds fakes.   Its gonna hit fan the the videos i am gonna post.
    • I could do japji sahib in about 6-7 mins
    • Are you sure ? I have see ladies and heard who have had threading and laser removal despite being amritdhari. No they don't cope fine.   Without mentioning anyone i know many amrtidhari people and trust me i have had a few experinces that are not nice when it came to money.   My fellow member i know i am the most hated and disliked user to exist on this site as of now. So why don't we have a vote system to see who hates me the most so then i will leave. Personally i have nothing against anyone on this site and i am glad that they gave me good advice being amritdhari or not i am very thankful for the time effort spent on me .   But the things i have seen in real life involving amritdhari people are very shocking to mention on here publicly. So thats why i label them in real life  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. I will never insult my Guru Ji but i hope God exposes the false prophets that exist today in our society especially amritdharis gurdwara people as well
    • No need to look at just Mahapursh. Some of the bhindri taksal Singhs have really long Nitnem, barely finish before going to sleep. Bibeki Jatha Singhs daily read Panj Granthi in addition to Maryada prescribed bani.  Sant Attar Singh read 100 Japji Sahib daily, Sant Jarnail Singh I hear between 101 and 125 per day. For this you need to be reaching high speed or in surti to read additional paath. I knew a Singh who reads Sukhmani Sahib in 30 mins. Japji Sahib for relatively fast readers is 5 or 6 mins.
    • Is there a maryada for reading specific banian or are you referring to timings?
