Guru Jee gave us 5 kakaar, not 4. If we want to follow His path we cannot pick and choose which bits we want to follow and which bits we don't. We should aim to leave our manmat thinking behind and follow the Gurus Way - Gurmat.

When someone takes Amrit, they are told by the Panj Pyares about the Rehat they must keep which includes all Panj Kakaar. And as Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj said... 'Rehat pyaree muj ku, Sikh pyara nahi'.

Is this some kind of joke?

Nishan-e-Sikhi ast in panj harf kaf,

Harqiz na bashad azin panj muaf;

Kara, Kardo, Kachchh, Kangha, bidan,

Bila Kes hech ast jumla nishan.

These five things with initial 'k' are the emblems of Sikhism.

None is exempted from these, for all these are meant;

The iron bangle, the sword, the breeches and the comb,

But without uncut hair, all others become insignificant.

- Rehetnama Bhai Nand Lal Singh jee

(please forgive spelling errors)

If you wish to be a Sikh of your own matt {mind} then do as you please.

If you wish to be a Sikh of the Guru , then follow the teachings of Guru Maharajh.

WJKK WJKF Veer ji

I am happy that you are so close of becoming a Singh. I am not a scholar or have any avastha to preach you. however as a brother i will request you to listen to more kathas and sakhian of Guru Gobind Singh ji and the importance they gave to uncut hairs (kesh) there is also a gazal of bhai Nanad Lal ji regarding kesh which answers your question very well. in short answer for you question. could there be a marriage without groom?

Think about it

A sikh is a person , in simplest words and as explained to this humble servant by great scholars who leads his\her life the way God wants his loved ones to .The very first submission to his will is - to live with and keep the body as given to us by Him , that is the reason why our great Gurus ordained us to keep hair (of head ,face and other body hair ) as we got from naTURE, UNSHORN

I feel this is sufficient in nutshell

As Mehtab Singh suggests, this question is difficult to take seriously.

Even with a very basic knowledge of Sikhi one would know the answer. If you don't have that basic knowledge, it does not make sense that you would be interested in a commitment to sikhi.

Anonymous, please elaborate on your background with respect to sikhi. Without that you sound like you are asking the forum to tell you if it's possible to declare yourself a brave king while hiding in a closet.

No such thing as a "clean shaven" man in sikhi or otherwise.

Nothing against you personally bro as you are using common parlance...but it does show how stupidly conformist human society can be. It is the lowest form of existence and the seed for nazi like ideals.

There are clean bearded or beautifully bearded men and plain faced boys in sikhi.... which one are you?

and to clarify the above view..... it is a view that guru loving inspirational "mona sikhs" would in humility agree with as they will put guruji, sikhi, and logic ahead of their own ego.
