Self Respect And Male Dominance

Sadha sangat ji aj kal woman's are not getting equality even when GURU ji had given them equal status to man.

Most sikh man are doing metal harrasment, some beat there wife and many more.

In darbar sahib they can't do kirtan and also can't perform different sewa's.............

In indian society, when a girl get married there parents and everyone else teaches her daughter to be always with her husband no matter whether her husband is keeping her wife as slave....................Being a sikh a woman should tolerate everything? she should not go against her husband? she should not take divorce? she should listen her husband's loud voice and keep her mouth shut to save the relation she should give her self respect? what actually a self respect and balidani is????

Everyone forces a girl in india that once to have been married you should have to adjust but what if she have to give her self respect to save the relation?

what if she have to give her sikhi to save the relation??? what if husband says to wear earings, go to beauty parlour even if the her wife is amritdhari?

In any circumtances, a girl is always said to do adjustment and save the relation.......is this right according to sikhi??????????

I agree. Also when many sikh men see a strong sikh woman they try and bring them down, they find it hard to accept that a kaur can be strong and independent like her guru wishes her to be.

And you're right about jewellry and dressing up, women these days wear so much extra and many strong kaurs do not care for this- gurbani says we can dress in pearls and wear makeup but if our guru isn't pleased with us it doesn't matter- it doesnt matter what men think of us, all we need is the acceptance and approval of the guru.

Male dominance is not a part of sikhi and equality and justice is always preached in gurbani therefor women do not need to take any unjust abuse from husbands.
