I heard alot of ppl who go already know each other (like they go in big groups), so wudnt it be hard to mix with ppl. Also are the sleepin areas shared cause wont it be harder to mix if u all sleep seperate...? thanks

Singh...u should go down..don't worry about being shy..real gursikhs will inspire and guide you...and will be inclusive to all...u'll be surprised how many people make friends with other gursikhs at these camps and probably did not know each other before.

Dont miss out...attend either of the camps coming up this summer..

I double this, dont let shyness stop you getting a massive amount of inspiration and laha from the camp. Its just unfortunate that the two camps are clashing this year, i've been to both and they are just phenomenal life changing experiences.

Drop me a pm about either camp if your wanting to go down, i'll put you in touch with a few people! i'm going to Khalsa camp myself this year, so i'd be happy to talk to you about it and you could chill witha wee group of us Scots who're coming down for it...beware though - we dont have soap up here, and we eat haggis!

When i went khalsa camp last few times i felt as though it is difficult to socialise, and it is, it's like people there already have their sangat and don't need anyone else, so it is difficult for people on their own to get into sangat there, I went to Sikh Student camp too few years back, but although it was very good socially it wasn't really good as a Sikh camp ha But I would definitely recommend you to go Sikhi Camp, that is where all the social sangat is, and it is a really good Sikh camp because there's a lot of knowledge. Khalsa camp is brilliant too, but not specifically when you want sangat. Also Khalsa Camp is seperate rooms, and Sikhi Camp is shared rooms, so much much more sociable and people-friendly, not that I want to put Khalsa Camp down because it is a really good camp, but if you really want sangat then it has to be Sikhi Camp no doubt because you will make lots of sangat on your first day who will stick with you till the last.

hmm nw im a bit confused, i wnt sikhi cmap also, didnt relly manage to socialise tht much...

well i thnk i will go kc, but one benti to make to anyone going (especially those in groups/with friends) if u see someone on their own plz approach them nd be friendly! I dont say this jst for myself I mean for anyone else in my position!

its a shame the rooms arent shared, i think shared rooms wud be a great socialising point... maybe this can be a suggestion for nxt year..

thanks again ji

Every camp is unique.

I've been to many different camps over the last 6 years and they have all been great! I attended at Khalsa Camp for the 2nd time last year, it was really good.

Sikhi Camp and Sikh Student camp is excellent if you want more of a social expereince. Khalsa Camp was more of a spiritual expereince for me.

Khalsa Camp had a mixture of ages. Mostly youngsters but also some elders, which makes the experience totally different.

The talks at Khalsa Camp just seemed a lot more substantial for me.

So it really depends what type of expereince you want, if its more of a social casual environment then Sikhi Camp or Sikhi Student camp would be good, but if you want to have more of a spirtual experience then Khalsa Camp would be best.

There are a lot of review on youtube for all camps, you should check them out too.
