Sangat Shaken While Kirtan !

Recommended Posts

I have never seen something like this :

Why so many Sikhs are shaking so heavily during kirtan :

Link :

Some others seem like they are also partially in that sleepy like state .

Notice the sikhs in beginning of video .

Why this happens ? And why all people in sangat there not affected ?

They are moving their heads because they are in CHARDI KALA! This mainly happens in Akand Kirtani Jatha events. Basically they are concentrating on the shabad and they really don’t care on what anybody else thinks, they just let themselves lose! Which is good, because why should you care on what others think? And if you do let yourself lose then your head automatically starts moving. Also the way in which the kirtan is done, with the tabla beat and shaney is just AMAZING!

The sangat is probably feeling sleepy because it is a rainsbhai! I’m guessing that you have never been to one?? A rainsbhai is kirtan from threw out the night, it mainly starts around 7pm and finishes at 5am. And that’s why they may be feeling sleepy because it is late into the night!

this will not be aimed at any jatha, but is a general post, so plz dont take it in the wrong way towards any spacific jatha or party.

they shake their heads out of haumai, not becasue they feel naam rass or something. people say they are in chardikala and thats why they shake their heads? that would have to mean that the rest of sangat who is not shaking, they are not in chardikala? or the people that are not shaking, they are in less chardikala then the people shaking right? and at those smagams that happen all around the world, and if there is nobody shaking, that would have to mean that there is nobody in chardikala at those smagams right? there are soo many chardikala gursikhs who do not shake during kirtan, does that mean they are actually fake? or that they are not in that high avastha yet, that they have not earned their shaking skills?

like i said, the shaking is done out of haumai, to let other around you know and think, "oh look at them, they really seem to be getting in it, oh look wat they are experiencing"

everybody sitting in guru ki sangat, is all chardikala, no matter if your head shakes or not, ur sitting in guru ji's lap, you cant get more chardikala then that.
