I did raul and dera sri nanaksar and giving cha and langar is okay. But what is this?

1) Putting a piece of paper and turban under sri guru granth sahib ji.

2) Keeping water in a gharvi.

3) Females are not allowed into sachkhand.

4) Mishri, lechi prashad at madh time.

5) Agarbati and jot must always be there.

6) Your mouth must not stink.

Updesh is being missed. Many Nanaksaris now freely admit this maryada of akhand path is too difficult. They do sukhmani maryada instead.

singh ji,

why not look at the amount of naam and seva is happening at the gurdwara , its very easy to point fingers at things we see bad or not understand. there may be reasons to why they do things in diffrent ways

but the main concept is that sikhs are getting gurbani of guru ji

forgive me if i may have had said anything wrong.

Brother,

Nanaksar has a beautiful maryada given by Baba Nand Singh ji himself who was a paragon of devotion unto Guru Nanak Dev ji and Sri Guru Granth Sahibji that is simply unrivalled;

who is anyone here to question what is in or lacking from the maryada made by such a high soul?

The Nanaksar maryada is the same as in the Nirmala Sampardai which goes back to Bhai Daya Singh and Bhai Dharam Singh ji, the keeping of jyot and jal is purataan maryada, and will be seen in any Nirmal kuttia.

What's more,

It is sad how 'Brahminism' has become such a readily applied slur-like watch-word

used by people with certain agendas to smear other groups.

I mean if there are no pandits or brahmins at a function reciting vedic mantras

and worshipping idols--how can anyone say that the group is Brahminized?

This has become such a dangerous trend that we even have people from the anti-panthic singh sabha international calling Damdami Taksal and Nihangs 'brahminized' with no evidence, this word is just used to defame people and organizations because of the strong anti-Hindu sentiments in our community--which is wrong and decietful.

We go to Gurdwara and do sewa and raul, rather then come home with our choli filled with Guru Jis pyare instead we come home pointing fingers at this and that, finding faults in this and that.

If this is all we have earned from the sewa then maybe it is better not to do the sewa at all ?

just becuase some rituals are followed by the sevadars at the Gurudwara does not automatically give someone the right to label them as 'brahmin' practices

once again the scapegoat mentality which dominates more and more young Sikh brothers these days

just a sad refelction of people being 'Not Hindus' as opposed to being Sikh

Being Sikh should be enough for any follower of the Gurus and such paranoia and weakness will only lead to the fall of many Sikhs in the future to a racist talibanised dharma the very same our Gurus fought against
