cause only 5 stood up

To say Guru Ji stopped at 5 cause only 5 stood up is completely wrong and makes it 'accidental'.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj knew everything and chose 5 for a reason. Here's something I grabbed from SikhWiki which may explain the reason.

In Sikh theology, as in the Indian classical tradition generally, panj or panch, the numeral five, has a special significance. Guru Nanak in Japji refers to five khands, i.e. stages or steps in spiritual development, and calls a spiritually awakened person a panch. The ancient Indian socio-political institution panchayat meant a council of five elders. Something like an inner council of five existed even in the time of the earlier Gurus: five Sikhs accompanied Guru Arjan on his last journey to Lahore; the five were each given 100 armed Sikhs to command by his successor, Guru Hargobind; Guru Tegh Bahadur, set out on his journey to Delhi to court execution attended by five Sikhs.

Bestowing of Guruship on Khalsa Panth

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Jee when revealing the Khalsa stated that there was no difference between him and the Khalsa and that wherever 5 Singhs resided, there the Guru resided and was present. This promise of the Khalsa being the Guru was exemplified at the Amrit Ceremony of 1699 AD and was later again exemplified at Chamkaur Sahib in 1704 AD. After listening to the supplications of the Khalsa, Guru Jee escaped from Chamkaur Sahib, Guru Jee bestowed his Kalgi (Crest for Turban, signifying Temporal authority) and authority upon the 5 Singh's who made this supplication to the Guru. The names of these 5 Singh's are:

1) Piare Bhai Daya Singh Jee

2) Piare Bhai Dharam Singh Jee

3) Bhai Maan Singh Jee

4) Bhai Sangat Singh Jee

5) Bhai Sant Singh Jee (He was bestowed with Kalgi of Maharaj)

From a socio-political perspective you have the panchayat (panch =5) system where authority was held by 5 elders, this was and still is common practise in Punjab, every village still has a panchayt.

From a spiritual perspective you as KZ is mentioned 5 is seen as a very significant number:

"Panch Parvan Panch Pardhan Pance Pavai Dareh Maan"

"Panch Sukhee Mil Mangal Gaye Anhat Bani Naad Vujaeea"

I wouldnt include panj takht in the analysis as Sri Damdama Sahib was only recently declared a takht.

Might also have to do with the panj bania that form our nitnem, one piara reads each bani.

The panj pyarai names also represent values that Maharaj wanted his Khalsa to have, some people say in turn the values are the direct opposite of the panj chor.

As TejiKaur penji said 5 does seem to be a magical number.

I don't think he/she meant it literally! Any way there's a song called the magic number, lol. Could be taken in that context.
