I'm not sure about that one specifically.

I had a similar situation where a frozen dinner (vegetarian) package had listed "red wine" on it too... and I gave em a call and yes, there is RED WINE which has 12% alcohol, but it is burned off (gorai cooking) so there should be "very little" in the final product.

Needless to say, I never bought that stuff again.

shouldnt be much of a problem...ethanol is easily burnt out so hardly any of it is left...i dunno tongue.gif best thing to do is just as long as it says wine, just keep away from it...you dont wanna get drunk indirectly :@

if any of you do chemistry you should know that vinigar gomes from wine being oxidised. if you leave a bottle of wine open long enough it becomes sour as it reacts to make vinigar.

if you are that worried you should not have almost any sauces or ketchups as they contain wine and you should almost stay away from all pharmacutical medicines.

There is a difference for drinking alcohol for pleasure purposes, and for medical purposes. Like alcohol in cough syrops and stuff are required... and no you don't get drunk on that.

Alcohol as a biproduct of oxidation in ketchup is a really slow chemical reaction... it doesn't comprise any major portion of the total content of the product. If we wish to worry about that, we should be banning eating naan or any other bread that contains yeast of some sort (yeast products react to produce C02, which is why the bread rises, BUT it does produce ethanol... sharab).

However, the vinegar being oxidized from wine... since no chemical reaction is 100%, that means some wine is still present. Unless it is distilled so that all alchol is taken out, high quantities are still present.

My thoughts.
