........... ? and what's SDO stand for? ......

I think (As far as I know), SDO is the abbreviation of “Sub Divisional Officer” . This (SDO ) used to be one of the ranks given in the Engineering Service in Punjab. Basically they (SDOs) either had a B.Sc. engineering degree, or had a diploma in engineering ( equivalent to N.C.C diploma). For the BSc degree holders the SDO used to be the staring rank. However, promotion of diploma holders to SDO ranks was considered to be a great achievement for them. Almost all of the SDOs used be employed in Irrigation (Canals and river engineering), Municipal engineering (sanitation, Sewer, or Water supply), or B&R ( Buildings, Roads, and Bridges) Departments. However now a days even the Civil Administrative Services, and also Police services have ranks which are abbreviated as SDO (Sub Divisional Officer). If these gentlemen that you are asking about are retired from Punjab Government Service or quitted working and moved to doing other things some time back, they are most likely to be from the Engineering Services of Punjab State.

Yeah they are two different mohinder singhs. Bhai Apardeep Singh's dad was Mohinder Singh Nanha. He might be a SDO too, but popularly he was known as bhai mohinder singh nanha.
