Mala/simran

Is it alrite to use a mala/simran? I have had several debates with people and we cant seem to agree. I wear a simran and I also have a mala. However some people feel that it is antisikhi to be using one??

Just wanted to know what the general consensus was?

I use the mala in a strictly gupt way, it keeps your concentration on the simran. It is nice when your at work and you have a few minutes to do some simran, the mala reminds you to always doing naam simran.

If it is something that helps you to do simran or reminds you to do simran it cant be a bad thing?

I realli didnt getthe whole number counting thing from the other forum??!?!

as long as u knw its not dekhava (show) then its all good!

i dont see no probs with one.... it just reminds us to jap naam... if its near u... u can use it.... eveyrone has their own way.. some use mala... some dont

well.... wht i ve listened in katha about mala simran ...i didnt find any contradiction regarding its use and moreover most of our gurus used simran mala quite frequently .......
