I have come across a Buddha Dal gutka, the ardas contains a section under the fifth thakt saying-96 crore. I cant seem to find the significance of 96 crore.

Can anyone enlighten me?

They consider themselves the 5th Takht. 96 Crore refers to the gupt fauj of 96 Crore Shaheed Singhs who will help the Khalsa rid the world of evil at the end of Kaljug.

Chatnga there is a Gurdwara near Hazoor Sahib, I think it may be Heera Ghat and if I remember correctly the ithihas written there states that all the 96krore Khalsa will have langer together, the rast bast for the langar have been stored there by maharaj.

I difficulty understanding this....

What evil are they to get rid of. My understanding is we all die due floods/fires. So no one survives....as the Earth gets tipped out of its Balance.

So is this 96 crore some sort of metaphor?
