What Does My Dream Mean ?

52 posts in this topic

Hi everybody last night i had a dream about going to the gurdwara and then later on in the night i had another dream of going to a different gurdwara and the giani asks me to check on the barfi and then i tell the giani im leaving in a few but i will do as much as i can

Going from darbar to darbar says that you can't settle and the fact that you couldn't devote too much of self into accommodating the giani, shows you are too attached to your world outside !

Dreams are about your subconscious giving you messages, Once your subconscious becomes aligned with conscious, then you are on the right path.

From the little you say, it tells me that you are quite unsteady in trying to make the decision where you want your heart to settle. It's as if your heart is saying one thing and your mind and brain is saying the other.

You have to try and learn to follow your heart and gut feeling until it's weight comes off your subconscious !!

My dead family members keep coming in my dream, what it means? This morning i was swearing at them as i fed up of it now. They always arguing or trying to kill each other and i am the one that has to save them all time. But that's nothin new as i was doin it when i was alive.

Just wish had nice dreams, dont even think about them. Marke v ni picha chad de. So so fed up of it now,

i am the only ones dreams they come in. Not other family members. I am very ill to think maybe

its my time to go, maybe its a sign. Sometimes the dreams wake me up scared, but so used to it now i swear at them to leave me alone, can't be bothered with this extra tension. Especially when i do paat before sleeping it occurs more.

This means that their old habits are still embedded in you. It also means that they caused you a lot of stress and anxiety at the time and they never even realised it.

Funny thing is they DO realise it, now that they are dead. The message from this reoccurring dream is that YOU need to forgive them from your heart.

What i mean is that you don't need to forgive them for their mistakes or whatever, but you need to forgive them for any anxiety/stress they may have caused you.

To swear at them is not the way. You need to truly forgive from your heart so that NO karma from each other hangs on any of you.

Make it clear to yourself that no bad karma or bad air/feelings caused by them, hang on your end, because you have TOTALLY forgiven and wiped !

I am pretty certain that once you have done this, then the dreams will stop and if you ever do have dreams about them, they will be much more pleasant !!

You have to try and clear guilt and negative attitudes from your conscious. These things hang on there and are major contributers to your karma lekh.

I know it's easy for me to say, but you should always try and remember people (especially if deceased) for the GOOD impact that they may have had on you. This includes your enemies or ones that you resent because of their actions.

Do dreams even mean anything? How can some people assume this dream is true or a vision etc???

What bout other dreams? Completely random imaginative dreams?

Why don't people deduce something from them?

Dreams can sometimes mean something or Guru Ji can tell you to do something in your dream.

Baba Attar Singh at Hazoor Sahib

taken from "Life Story of Sant Attar Singh Ji" by Harbans Singh Doabia

One day Sant ji started walking on the bank of the Godavari. At a distance of nearly three miles he began meditation for nearly ten days without food. Bhai Nanu Singh, the head pujari of Darbar Sahib saw a vision one night and heard a voice say “Our dear Sikh is standing in meditation in the river for the last eight days without any food. Serve him food.”

Next morning, Bhai Nanu Singh cooked food and walked on the bank for about two miles but finding no one, returned back. On the same night he again heard a voice “You have not served food to our beloved Sikh.” He replied, “Sir, I tried to contact him but could not find him anywhere.” The voice answered, “Walk for three miles and then you will find him”.

On the following morning, he again took food and went for three miles on the bank of the river. Now he saw Sant ji standing in the knee deep water. When Sant ji opened his yes, he saw Bhai Nanu Singh and asked, “How have you come here?”

Bhai Nanu Singh explained his dream and offered food to Sant Ji. He refused to eat anything. Bhai Nanu Singh then said, “ I shall not be able to sleep. Kindly accept my humble offer”

Hello, I came across this website while looking for my dream interpretation. I am a hindu but was married to a Sikh guy. The guy left me and this morning I dreamt guru ji came to my home, but he didn't say anythg. I saw him, he was smiling n was glowing as well, it felt so real then I woke up. My sister too was in the dream and the clothes she was wearing in the dream are the same clothes she wore that day, it's a bit freaky where my sister wore the same clothes as in my dream but what I wanna know is what does my dream mean? I love Sikh religion and had planned to send my kids to Khalsa schools and all, but my husband left me and Wudnt contact me at all. Our marriage is not even one year yet. Please help!! And I've tried everythg to save our marriage, but he would always side up with his family against me. Plus my mum passed away and that's the day he left me, when I needed him most. I'm heartbroken and I pray everyday seeking answers but I wanna know what my dream means. Thank you.

U got darshan. We get darshan sometimes to give us a message or let us know we are in the right track. You have been in Dukhi and Truth allows us to be detached from dukhI. So practice Gurbani/Truth- and you'll live and see the Truth.

I think any dream one has with spiritual places or people are a good sign and to think of them as positives in your life. But anything else, I dont bother about, as one is only adding stress. Unless a dream is troublesome, don't worry about it. Stress and life situations also play a part in dreams.

Lol at all the salty replies from Gursikhs who haven't had darshan (albeit in dream form) of Guru Ji, despite their best efforts, yet this alcohol-drinking, cut-haired guy gets to be in the company of Guru Sahib for a few moments. The envy is palpable! How do you people suppose the lost and rudderless are shown the light if they aren't aware the light exists?

To the OP: you're being a shown way out of the dead-end that is your current life. Grasp the opportunity with both hands. You're one of the lucky few that receives such unambiguous messages. Don't let the envious few on this site put doubts into your mind that it was some random Singh you were chilling with. Don't kintu-prantu!

Next time, keep such occurrences to yourself. For answers, search your soul. Only you'll know if it was real or just a random set of images. Good luck.

Your dream may be as a result of some good deed you have done in the past.

When I read the story of Bhai Rama Singh Ji - he was born as a Hindu and was sort of lost despite having been Guru Gobind Singh Jis sikh. Because of one bad deed he had been sort of cursed to be born as a Hindu. He cut his hair and was totally lost - searching for the true path. When he fought his temptations - Guru Ji gave him his darshan. It was so powerful that it changed him. He came back from the trip he was on and put on a dastar and became a devoted sikh.

Guru Ji is there for everyone, sinners, saints, drinkers, murderers - people of all religions. He has no complaint against anyone. We get what we work for. The fruits we reap are from the seeds we sow.

The video above tells us how Guru Gobind Singh went to the crowning ceremony of the son of aurangzeb - who had given orders for the shaheedhi of Guru Gobind Singh Jis sons.

I read somewhere that doing chaupai sahib the path about 7 times each day can help you stop getting such dreams.

When you are ill you do have lots of strange dreams. Dont worry just stick to doing path - to the maximum whatever happens - dreams or no dreams.

I think this is my post hana, oh yes I remember going through a very bad episode with my health and everything else in my life. But now I'm less stressed and of course Waheguru's Mehr, I don't get troublesome dreams as much. I get some but I don't bother with them, ive learned to ignore them and put it down to what's going on at that time.

Thank you ji for the advise penji, yes Chaupai Sahib ji helps.

Dreams could meam something or they could mean nothing at all.

Do you do Kirtan Sohila before going to bed every night? You should recite it before sleeping and remember Waheguru.

    • Guru Nanak Dev Ji WAS  Waheguru as there is no difference between God and his servants. The reason Guru Nanak Dev Ji never said it out loud was because the last time people started down that path it ended with their teachings being distorted and warped. If that doesn't convince you then just read Gurbani <- that literally says that the Guru and the Lord are one. Why do you think Gurbani is full of that same message, again and again and again. Fun fact that was written by Guru Arjun Dev Ji, Do you want a translation of it too? Know that the Guru and the Transcendent Lord are One.  Sukhamani Sahib has an entire Astpadhi dedicated to brahmgyanis (the beings aware of God and enlightened) and Guru Sahib flat out says they're God.  Water has in its 3 forms is given different names but at the end of the day it's always going to be H2O. God has limitless forms, but he exists in Sargun and Nirgun forms as well. Nirgun is the original form but Sargun is also God but God with characteristics and attribution. Humans are unable to comprehend anything unless they see it so God entered the world as Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  You're free to quote any Sant or Mahapurkh and they will say that exact thing. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was God.  This concept is ingrained within Gurmukhi itself, Feel free to quote any text written from the time of the Gurus to about 100 years after and its all there. You're telling other people to take the SGGSJ as a whole but you're unsure about the highlighted verse. Are you sure you're a Sikh? So are the banis by the other authors less important? Guru Arjun Dev Ji complied the Adi Bir and he included it all within it. Including the verses calling the Gurus God. He put it in there as it's the truth. Will you now say that you suddenly knew better than him? the stale argument that because Guru Sahib never said it outright so it's not true is truly grasping for straws. Bhai Gurdas Ji flat out calls Guru Nanak Dev Ji God, so is he wrong? the "random person's book" you refused to read is a noted brahmgyani, Gurbani as a whole says Guru=God.  Ask yourself this, Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the most humble being that ever walked the Earth. He wouldn't utter a statement such as that, no humble person would.     Makes me think as I was in the same boat as this user about 2ish years ago. Thank god I snapped out of it.
    • I just posted explicit lines and you keep rambling that I can't post any, do you not believe every line from Gurbani is the same? Are you autistic or something? "ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
      वाहु वाहु बाणी निरंकार है तिसु जेवडु अवरु न कोइ ॥
vāhu vāhu baṇī nirankār hai ṯis jevad avar na ko▫e.
Waaho! Waaho! is the Bani, the Word, of the Formless Lord. There is no other as great as He is. " (Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Ang 515), this was written by Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Amar Das Ji and even still if you are going to play dumb, this is my last response to you to on this site.
    • Correct interruption and context is the key. Anyone can quote lines of gurbani to fit in with their narrative or agenda but taking the whole SGGS ji in context and verses of gurbani in correct understanding will make you realise what is being said. Guru's true role in liberating people is teaching them about God and how to get to God ie  their role is being a spiritual teacher and you being the student (sikh) is to learn how to get there. Guru is not God nor did any of them claim they was God. Lets stop going around in circles and agree that this is fact because I know you wouldn't be able to produce a verse anywhere that states that a Guru in gurbani says he is God.
    • I don't understand I thought you said they were on Instagram?...
    • I noticed there's alot of racist violent blacks around in the UK that been targeting innocent asian citizens for decades now.  Alot of the  have this chip on their shoulder thinking the world owes them a living or a racist mentality thinking asians are weak, easy to bully and will take and tolerant any disrespect shown to them without any physical readdress.
