Women Dress to Impress

There are women that dress flattering clothes for men to attract them. For example, faithless women wear revealing clothes for men and vice versa. There are women that cover themselves from top to bottom for men in order to keep them uninterested. For example, Muslim women wear their veil to keep the eyes of men away from them while the men walk around freely. Therefore, these women are living for men.

However, in sikhi equality prevails and we live only for God. Guru Ji has given women including men a dress code that is not made for each other to get attracted or repelled by which shows that the control comes from the mind. This dress code is our bana; our royal warrior uniform which is a statement of belonging to our Guru. For example, our dress code includes our Dastaar (crown), Chola (clothing of the Gurus) which covers us up respectably and makes us look beautiful for our Guru. Both genders equally wear it because it is for God whereas others dress for humans.

nicely written. just remember however that the hijab and headscarf are not requisites in islam, but are social norms in the middle east and asia wich have been incorporated by muslim followers.

What about those sikh men that wear full bana at sikh programs (reansbhaees) and when they go out with their friends, college, etc, they don't even wear a chola.

My message is that sikhi is superior because everything we do is for God.
