Jatha To Go To Pak On June 26

Recommended Posts

Amritsar, June 24

A jatha of Sikh pilgrims will go to Pakistan on June 26 to observe the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh which falls on June 29.

This was disclosed by Mr Ram Singh, an official spokesman for the SGPC in a press note issued here today.

The jatha would return to India on July 5 after visiting Sikh shrines in Lahore, Hassan Abdal, Eminabad and other places.

The jatha would be led by Mr Onkar Singh Sharifpura, a confidant of Mr Gurcharan Singh Tohra.

The selection of Mr Sharifpura has given clear indication that reshuffle in the SGPC is in the offing.
