In a press conferance, Paven Gupta President of Shiv Sena Panjab, has given a warning that Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale's Picture by the 13th December. If the picture is not removed by that day, Shiv Sena claim that they will close the whole of Panjab on the 14th December...Gupta has asked the Panjab Government and SGPC to remove the picture or they will have to face the anger of the Shiv Sena.

Gupta also criticised the BJP and their coalition minister Proffesor Lakshmi Kanta Chawla for bowing down to Akali Dal pressure and being too soft on the whole issue. Congress was also criticised for only releasing statements and not taking direct action.

Shiv Sena said that the bandh on the 14th will be peaceful but if they were faced with any violence or aggravation they will reply in the same way.

One of the reporters asked Gupta that the whole issue of hanging Sant Ji's picture is the business of the Sikhs and the SGPC, why were they (Shiva Sena) sticking their nose in and destroying the peace in Panjab?? Gupta replied that Harmander Sahib is not only of the Sikhs but it belongs to everyone. Therefore hanging the picture of a "terrorist" they had hurt the feelings of the Shiv Sena and Hindus.

SIKHS SHUT DOWN PUJAB PLENTY OF TIMES AND IF THEY WANT TO BRING IT WE WILL SHUT DOWN DEHLI AND BOMBAY AS WELL... its happened before when sikhs have blocked all roads and they shut down dehli by cutting off the power to Dehli from Bhakra Dam ... its a shame that we have no electricity when we produce enough to go round 3 times over and that we have no clean water in parts when if the dam broke then punjab would be uneder 3 ft of water ... think about it whoes right are being looked at

I heard Shiv Sena just chickened out and just burnt some more effigies within Mandirs, as thats the only place they felt safe enough to do it on the 14th.

Punjab carried on as normal. Hooraah!
