What about this one though?

3. The Guru Nanak Dev University Text (MS 1018)

Scribed by one Harnam Singh Khatri in 1856-57, it comprises two separate collections brought together in a single binding, "The first part is obviously taken from an earlier manuscript which was evidently dismantled and divided." The second segment continues the Chaupa Singh Rahitnama and carries it to its conclusion. It also includes the Nand Lal Rahitnama at the end after recording a material account of the inauguration of the Khalsa. "In terms of script and general presentation Guru Nanak Dev University text is even neater and clearer than the Sikh Reference Library text."

That is what Kharak singh Mann says. As suggested earlier he is a kala afghani guy and not credible.

When he states that Mcleod made a copy of manuscript from sikh ref library before 1984 and presented it to

GNdu then how come that differs with padam's manuscript as both have same source. Why should h rely on some writing

that is written more than hundred years later than the one held in Sikh ref. library.

Moreover as Kharak singh writes it is a hybrid document mixed with other documents by the author. It is shame

for Kharak singh to declare it as manuscript of Chaupa singh rehtanama since it does not qualify as such.

Does Padam make any direct references to his sources for the CS rahit he presents in his work?

What is CS rehat? Padam writes that his source is same as the copy of manuscript in Sikh ref lib.

I wrote it earlier ALSO.

And McLeod knew that Padam had a book on rehatnamas to his credit when he started this jugglery.
