Recommended Posts

The following is an english translation of a letter received by panthic sevadars from sevadars of DamDami Taksal who witnessed the events in Tracy, California. This letter shows that Bhai Ram Singh Jee was not made the 15th jathedar and in fact was only given parchar seva and seva of taking care of gurudwara sahibs. The letter below has been translated by Waheguroo! News Bureau for worldwide sangata:

Thanks from Baba Takhur Singh Jee to all sangtan worldwide.

At Talwandi Sabo, Damdama Sahib, Guru Gobind singh jee started teaching grammar and reading of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in October of 1762(Bikrami) and explained the bani for the singhs until the 23rd of July, 1763. After that time Guru Gobind Singh jee chose Bhai Mani Singh to continue explaining and translating bani for the rest of the sikh sangatan at Satowal Walee Galee, Amritsar and Baba Deep singh to do the same at Damdama Sahib. Both sects of Taksal are successful today due to these englightened individuals and their sewa. The 14th Head of Taksal, of the 20th century, the hero of every young man's heart, the supreme power, the spirit of the panth is Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

To obtain freedom for the Khalsa Panth he started the Dharam Yudh Morcha in 1982 and started living at Amritsar. At that time he gave the sewa of Gurudwara Gurdarshan Parkash, Mehta, to respected Baba Takhur Singh jee. Due to Sant Jarnail Singh’s absense after the 1984 attack, Baba Takhur Singh continued to fill the position of jathedar. He continued to give religious education, hold many amrit sanchar ceromonies and spread the word of the guru through katha and keertan by attending many samagams;

not only in India, but overseas as well. He also continued this service through all the hard times.

On June 17th, 2003 at Gurudwara Nanak Parkash, Tracy, CA, USA Baba Takhur Singh jee gave a saropa to Bhai Sahib Bhai Ram Singh jee in the presence of the following Singhs and asked the sangatan to give Bhai Sahib their full support. The Singhs present were Bhai Dharam Singh Jee (Jathedar Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash, Tracy CA), Bhai Surjit Singh jee Sodhi, Singh Sahib Bhai Kashmir Singh jee (Ex-Head Granthi Sri Akal Takht Sahib), Bhai Sukhwinder Singh jee Sangha, Bhai Pala Singh jee (Bodyguard of Baba Takhur Singh jee), Bhai Lakhwinder singh 'Pappu', Bhai Sarwan Singh, Bhai Santokh Singh "Rab jee" (Hazoori Raggi), Bhai Nishaan Singh, Bhai Rawinder Singh, Bhai Joginder Singh 'Galowal', Bhai Daljeet Singh, Bhai Surjeet Singh 'Harchowal', Bhai Sahib Singh (USA) and many other Singhs from the Jatha. Baba Tahkur Singh Jee advised Bhai Ram Singh jee to continue the tradition of teaching Singh’s gurbani, holding Amrit Sanchars, doing katha/keertan and all the other services offered by Damdami Taksal with his mind body and soul. He also gave bhai sahib the service of taking care of Gurudwara Gurdarshan Parkash (Mehta), Gurudwara Anandpur Sahib and Gurdwara Nanak Parkash (Tracy). Everybody welcomed this move/decision with Jakaraas. It is now the duty of the jatha sangat and the sikh panth to obey the decision made by Baba Takhur singh jee and fulfill the dreams of Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale by giving our full Support to Bhai Ram Singh jee.

Guru Panth daa Daas,

Bhai Mukhtiar Singh Jee Mukhi

Student of Damdami Taksal

Sacramento, America

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
