Power of Gurbani/Naam

In the nineteenith centuary the britsh rule knew no bounds and did great zulam on the singhs. But the singhs faught back with non violent means. They were true sidhki{parpakh in faith and sikhi} sikhs. All they had was the support of gurbani and naam. They were totally dhridh in their faith to gurbani, the guru and gurmat. Although they faced harsh conditions and extreme pain and suffering; nothing could falter their vishvaash{strong belief} in the guru. Being sent to prisions in far off places and facing 40-40 days of hunger strikes these singhs truely lived up the the standards of the khalsa. Reading about these kinds of singhs enstills the great spirt of sikhi in a person.

But the question arrises: why? How? For what? did they make these sacrifices and and struggle with the almighty british rule. They were out to prove that the power of naam is faar greater than that of the mighty rule of even the most elite of mans forces. And the result, they showed that the khalsa can free millions upon millions of people from teh clutches of the corrupt mayadhary rule of the british. Hadent these men proved that one khalsa is enough to dessimate whole armies{1 against Seva Lukh}.

Rading about the akhand paath massacare makes one proud. Imagine, an akhand paathis going on and the british try to stop the singhs. they open fire, singhs fall, a gursikh bibi has a child in her arms, she is reciting bani, suddenly shrapnel hits the baby and dies. She leaves him onthe ground and marches on.

Such was the sikhi sidhak that the singhs of the past had... All becasue of GURBANI. If you do research on the sikhs of teh 18th and 19th centuries you will fint that not only the common sikh did m

assive amounts of gurbani, but they also had a passion with writing bani.

Bhai sahib bhai randheer singh jee writes in JOYT VIGAAS that he once visited a village in Bathinda district near Gur Kanshi. Bhai shaib gets a feeling that a great gursikh is nearby and that he must fall at the feet of this gursikh. With his extra sensory powers, he located him and went inside the house. As he was going in, he felt great waves of nammi kamayee. seeing this he moved closer and when seeing that abhaysee singh with such a great awasthaa he tried to fall at teh feet of this gurmukh. While he was trying to bow down. HUGE amounts of electric current jolted him and made him loose conscious. Even though bhai sahib jee was a great abhayassi himself, this singh was like 20X more chardi kala.

This parsaang is beautifully explained in the great poetry masterpiece JOaT VIGGASS. Mind you that this book was not wretten by any old man, it was decended by waheguru himself. It is so diffucult to decipher that it would take many years of intense labour to drive the deeper meanings of the verses. The aveerage man can not understand anything the first few attempts at reading it. The vocabulary is so diverse and the structure of the writing is like magic. Its like a beautifully made jigsaw puzzle.

Every sikh should read and try to understand the deep meanings of joyt vigaas.
