Love

I once looked upon a star and fell in love with how bright it shone. Its radiance touched my soul. I spent countless nights wishing upon that star, I dreamt that such beauty would never fade and die.

I spent a lifetime in love with a rose. From that special first day, I watched it slowly grow. Its roots spread within me and my eyes glowed with joy. I prayed it would be immortal, but inevitably its petals shrivelled and roots dried.

I breathed only to see my true love the ocean. The waves crashing and swirling stirred up such emotions that my devotion to it was eternal. I sailed to its centre and swam to its heart so we would never be apart. But then my breaths stopped…

As Guruji shot his arrow of love straight through me. Such a spectacle soaring through the heavens piercing my centre, my heart. Such a cataclysmic explosion within me that I felt as light as air, as powerful as a mountain, as humble as dust. In that moment, I lost all attachment, I subdued lust, I calmed my anger and I conquered my ego and greed. By gurujis love this manmukh was freed.

one i wrote today

How we live

Some live like a tree. Born from the seed, slowly sprouting into existence. Digging their roots firm into the soil slowly sucking the earth dry. Their green shoots spread to get them closer to the sun. They care not for other trees and laugh as they burn and die.

Some live like a star. Rising in the east, and spreading love and warmth to all. Not a moment spent in darkness as the sun sets in the west, yet inevitably what once was so bright eventually burns its last.

Others live like a polluted stream. High up in the mountains they pray to the source. They ask for the heavens to rain, to give strength and alleviate this curse. When it rains, it is never enough and in a destructive wave of anger the river bursts.

All forget how when the apple falls, it looks so delicious and sweet. Yet slowly it wrinkles. When the petals fall the sweet scent slowly fades. When the dust settles we polish relentlessly, but ultimately the great dust war is lost.

When..

When the earth sleeps and when the moon shines. When the stars twinkle, at the last pehar of the night, they arise.

When the cold water flows from the pipes, like ice, they recite Vaheguru. When the air is silent and just darkness outside, they sing his name. Such a sight!

When they sing with such love the whole world is silently listening. When they remember with each breath their soul is glistening the truth.

When their consciousness is lost in the sound then the darkness is replaced by light. Such brightness illuminates everything around and deep inside.

When they breathe their last they win the ultimate prize, then they reach sachkhand and are no longer reborn into human life.

Only when we commit 100%, will the cycle end.

Vaheguru je ka khalsa, vaheugur ji kee fateh

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa!!!!

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!!!

Sangat Ji this is something I just wrote watching the sun set.

I'm not really that great with poetry and all, but please comment though. :BL:

The Sun

The sun brings life to all,

And it’s bright light encompasses the world.

It’s warmth permeates through all,

Melting the cold snow,

And awakening all creatures.

Yet,

If I could be blessed with vision of my father,

His divine light would burn my eyes from their sockets,

But no longer would I need them.

If I could be in the presence of my mother,

Warmth would radiate from her with enough heat to burn my sullied flesh,

But no longer would I need it.

My father’s love encompasses this world,

The one below,

And above.

With my mother’s happiness,

Tears of bliss would be shed,

At the sound of her laughter.

The sun sets and I no longer feel it’s warmth.

The sun sets and I no longer see it’s brilliance.

The sun sets and the world falls back asleep.

However,

I remain in the light.

I remain warm.

I remain awake.

Why do I need the sun,

Mother,

Father,

When I have you?

Today is my wedding

Tears litter the dusty floor

He will come and take me far away...I will not see them anymore

I have not even seen his face! My husband soon to be.

They say his eyes are like the stars, and his temper like the sea.

He beckons me into his chamber, as the Sun dips into its lair.

He removes my old and fettered robes...burn them for all I care!

Our embrace makes us one, He seals it with a kiss.

The Sun will rise for another, I will have this night of eternal bliss.

The Hunt within...

When will I hear thy footsteps?

When will I hear thee coming?

When will my ears want no more to hear?

When will these eyes see you?

When will they visualise the purest?

If never!

I pray and I wish O' Lord,

I go deaf and blind,

hear and see none else.

Poignant melancholy

descending upon...

eyes in search of something lost...

ears tracing thy voice...

failing to realise,

every time...

It's thou that's all,

everywhere...

O' my beloved!

I'm exhausted by the hunt,

(but never will I stop)

give me thy slightest clue

I'll stand up again,

look hither and thither

Oh!

though I know the hunt is within...

Please help me O' Lord,

Bless this seedling with thy fruit,

Make me so

Bless me so

I be capable,

to beg at thy doorstep,

O' beloved...
