Gurus In Human Body

Recommended Posts

Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal!

Dear all!

They often warn and preach Sikhs to reject dehdhaaree Gurus. Is this true only for the present time?

Our Gurus were dehdhaarees, lived in human body. Did Sikhs accept dehdhaaree Gurus in the past?

Is truth changing with the time? Please express your views.

Bani has always been our Guru from the start, the human body was used to deliver Gurbani to the world. Our Guru Sahibans never referred to themselves as "Guru" as so many do today.

Thats my understanding of it, i could be wrong.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

GURBANI or GURU BANI or GURU'S WORD is Gyan, knowledge. Knowledge imparted through a divine or spiritul guru is spiritual gyan.

A human body is only a medium of imparting the knowledge.

In our case God Almighty, imparted the spiritual gyan to us through ten successive mortal human bodies in a period of 239 years. and then He Himself through the medium of his last human body ' Dasmesh Pita, Guru Gobind Singh Ji directed Khalsa Panth to take Guru Granth Sahib , the divine word as ' the Guru, the Immortal Guru, the Jugo Jug Attal Guru, the Perfect Guru. Then where is the need of the human Guru. If we or any one of us still seeks for a human Guru, shall we not be disobeying the dictates of Sarbans Daani, Amrit Daata, Aape Guru Chela Satguru, who directed us and said

Agya bhai Akaal Ki Tabhai Chalayo Panth

Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukam hai, Guru Maanyo Granth.

Please note here the word 'Hukam' is used, which means an edict, an order, A Furman, a procalimation.

then hukam continues

Guru Granth Ji Maaniyo, Pargat Guran ki Deh

Jo Prabh Ko Milbo Chaahe, Khoj Sahabd main leh.

Guru sahib said that Guru Granth Sahib is the Guru's body too , and whenever one wants to seek and meet God, the PRABH, THE ALMIGHTY, he or she can search the same from 'SHABAD'.

None can give better clarity than what is contained in this edict.

gurfateh ji,

understanding guru is in itself the key. its like getting an idea because the experience has penetrated your psyche. through the guru we get the ability to have self reflection on what akal is...

bhai gurdas ji says there is a 19,20,21 difference between

sangat, guru and waheguru.....

with gurbani being our mode of worship, by it being given higher darja in guru hargobind sahib ji's court...what we must understand that nirankar's apaar jot was transferred...and khedh was always beyond deh and word.....both being manifestations of worship, deh for seva, word for worship

the gurus body was in a human body... as narinder singh said , the human body was used to deliever the messege

it is there shabad which stands out... His shabad has so much raas in it...Guru sahibs shabad was mahan but not his body...

jus to go a little off topic but not really

that is why photos of guru sahib are not needed... these photos have now turned into statues.... because i have seen them myself... and that will lead to moortee pooja.... and bhraman maat will come back eventually if we dont discard these photos...

so in conclusion the shabad of the guru was great... that is why we refer to guru granth sahib ji as shabad guru...

Dear all!

Quote from Narinder Singh Ji "Bani has always been our Guru from the start, the human body was used to deliver Gurbani to the world."

This is a great understanding. Is it the same using the printed paper body?

Quote "Our Guru Sahibans never referred to themselves as "Guru" as so many do today.

I have also not found a signature from Gurdev with this academic degree of a spiritual university.

Quote from Harjagjeet Ji "None can give better clarity than what is contained in this edict."

I am not sure if the edict referred is from Gurdev. It is surprising why they sing this every day in Guru's Ghars.

Quote from Papi Ji "koi shaq??? (any doubt)"

Thanks for the wonderful reference from Gurdev. By the way do we need a middle man who should read or sing Guru's Baanee for us. How and when are we directly connected with Gurdev?

Quote from Drawrof Ji "bhai gurdas ji says there is a 19,20,21 difference between sangat, guru and waheguru....."

In my view, here is the deviation. Gurdev says there is no difference.

Quote " . . .and khedh was always beyond deh and word . . ."

Gurdev says that khed is within and one recognizes it within. The universe is the body of God and His Khed. HE is the Truth and lies within.

Quote from International Akaali Ji " . . .Guru sahibs shabad was mahan but not his body . . ."

I feel everything is mahan. Gurdev says God is all Himself.

Quote "that is why photos of guru sahib are not needed... these photos have now turned into statues.... because i have seen them myself... and that will lead to moortee pooja.... and bhraman maat will come back eventually if we dont discard these photos..."

Is there a difference if someone worships a sculpture or a photo printed on a paper? One does not need to become a worldly Brahmin to go astray.

masand pratha was eliminated by guru gobind singh ji.

gur sangat keeni khalsa, mun mukhi duhela.

guru made sangat the khalsa, and the mun mukhs who used to play the middle man were destroyed forever.

gurbani is there for all with no discrimination. it is upto us to recite, read, sing, and research. no need of a middle man. gurbani IS the "middle man" between us and waheguru :TH:

Dear all and Papi Ji!

Thanks for the reference. Please provide the reference of the page and Granth from where we can read this Vaak.

Quote "gur sangat keeni khalsa, mun mukhi duhela."

The translation you provided is "guru made sangat the khalsa, and the mun mukhs who used to play the middle man were destroyed forever."

In my view, the translation is this. The Company of Gur makes pure (Khalsa). One who listens mind's mouth is miserable.

Quote "gurbani is there for all with no discrimination. it is upto us to recite, read, sing, and research. no need of a middle man. gurbani IS the "middle man" between us and waheguru"

Please explain. Why there are so much business and politics on the name of Gurbani in and around Gurdwaras? What are middle men doing there?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
