Each Of Us

Recommended Posts

Each of us is given a time period by waheguru and if we waste that time away then according to bani we will go back into the cycle of reincarnation e.g 8.4 million species. How long is this period? That is anybodys guess. Although we may not belive in the cycle of reincarnation but Guru Ji says it is present.

This human birth is so precious that even demi- gods aspire for it as this is the only form of life where God realization can be achieved. Bhai Gurdas Ji who wrote the Adi Granth at the instruction of Guru Arjan Sahib Ji says Sikhi is an ideal path. Travelling on this path and keeping Guru Ji as our guide we are sure to reach our destination – The Lords Mansion

Guru Jis instructions on the way of life are like pearls and gems and one heeding his instructions is sure to win the grace of waheguru (GURPARSHAD). Gurbani says that a saint or sadhu shows the way and gives the method for repeating the lords name and waheguru is the giver of salvation. Saints, Khalsa , Brahmgiani , Puran Pursh are different names given to a soul who has realized the ultimate reality (whoever these days every1 claims to be a saint) the description of such a soul is given in gurbani:

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:

Twenty-four hours a day, he knows the Lord to be near at hand;

he surrenders to the Sweet Will of God.

The One Name is the Support of the Saints;

they remain the dust of the feet of all. 1

Listen, to the way of life of the Saints, O my Siblings of Destiny;

their praises cannot be described. 1Pause

Their occupation is the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

The Kirtan, the Praise of the Lord, the embodiment of bliss, is their rest.

Friends and enemies are one and the same to them.

They know of no other than God. 2

They erase millions upon millions of sins.

They dispel suffering; they are givers of the life of the soul.

They are so brave; they are men of their word.

The Saints have enticed Maya herself. 3

Their company is cherished even by the gods and the angels.

Blessed is their Darshan, and fruitful is their service.

With his palms pressed together, Nanak offers his prayer:

O Lord, Treasure of Excellence, please bless me with the service of the Saints

(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji ang 392)

What is this code of conduct? Which this super human beings follows?

Sri Guru Arjan Sahib ji describes such a soul in the above lines, Guru sahib says that he himself makes a plea with folded hands before waheguru , the treasure of excellences to bless him with the service of the saints

Kabir Ji says that if we desire to be of service then there are 2 personalities worth serving: one is the saint and another is waheguru. Waheguru is the giver of salvation sand the saints duty is to make man utter the name of the lord , leading to immortality.

kabeer saevaa ko dhue bhalae eaek sa(n)th eik raam

Kabeer, it is good to perform selfless service for two - the Saints and the Lord

raam j dhaathaa mukath ko sa(n)th japaavai naam

The Lord is the Giver of liberation, and the Saint inspires us to chant the Naam

(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and 1373)

In the Bibile it is written what you sow , so shall you reap. Gurbanis view is similar regarding this

jaehaa beejai so lunai karamaa sa(n)dharraa khaeth As she has planted, so does she harvest; such is the field of karma.

(Sri Guru Gran Sahib Ji and 134)

Bhagat Tirlochan Ji says that a person who spends his whole life collecting material wealth and at the last moment of life thinks about wealth before he leaves the world, is born again and agains as a snake

One who dies thinking about women is born again and again as a prostitute, one who dies thinking of his children at his death bed is born again & again in the swine species. One who dies thinking about mansion at death is born a sprit or a ghost.

At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of serpents. 1

O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. Pause

At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. 2

At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. 3

At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a goblin. 4

At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts,

says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart

(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji 526)

ONLY a person who has spent his entire life meditating on waheguru would remember his name towards the end of his life and so qualify for salvation or immortality. We have to pause and contemplate on all these things.

We need power to gather material wealth , we need power to also collect spritual wealth. This will not be possible if we defer the latter to our old age, as our then weak bodies will not be able to concentrate, let alone collect spiritual benefits.

SO THE TIME IS NOW!!!! To gather this gem of spritual wealth while all our faculties are still in proper working order. We should always keep gurbani as our guide and hope that we never lose the correct spritual path. In this dark age of kalyug , there are very very few who are blessed to follow the correct code of conduct of the Gurus
