most ancient saints before Guru Nanak Dev ji covered their heads and had uncut hair.

the maryada we've been given as Sikhs is just one way of many to become one with God.

people nowadays are obsessed with outward things and dont realise that prem, paath and simran are the most important things - the physical aspects follow naturally, and are only mandatory if you want to become amrit dhari.

Sikhs dont have a dominion over God - what makes you think that he was in a different saroop to the modern Khalsa that he wouldnt become on with God.

outward appearance will always be secondary to whats inside of you.

Sikhi was revealed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji - it has always been here - Bhagat Ravidas Ji's Bani is in Guru Granth Sahib and as such he is one of our Gurus.

As per what a sikh is in description from mguru granth sahib ji .. he was a sikh .. their were numerous sikhs before guru nanak dev jis time ..

A sikh was later defined under guru gobind singh ji under the KHALSA .. a khalsa defines a sikh and a sikh defines a khalsa.. the word sikh was used many times before guru nanak dev jis time ..

i dont know much, this is what a more knowledgeable person told me once

bhul chuk maph ..

Gurfateh,

The "Hindu" or "Muslim" Sants found in the SGGS were beyond religion, caste, race, gender. They acheived oneness with Waheguru, for that reason they were of no religion. Baba Farid, a Sufi Muslim did not care about Islam in particuar, just God/Allah/Waheguru/Ram(not the hindu ram diety). A Sikh is a person who follows the ways of the ten Gurus Jis who brought us the knowledge and way of the Sants (who had no religion and they rejected everything except their utter desire to meet/see Waheguru). So a Sikh or Sikhi is special in the sense that it is the perfection of religion, there are not biases that most religions have integrated into their scriptures or doctrines. Also, the SANTS were NOT GURUS. They were Sants. The Gurus created the Sikh religion and the SANT did not create any religion. Gurus fall at the mercy of the Sant, Guru Nanank Ji ask to be dust of the Sants feet. And as Sikhs, from Gurbani we realize how perfect our Gurus were. So if someone trying to see who is better or higher...will find themselves running in circles. The humility the Gurus had for the SANT due the love the Sant had for Waheguru is incomprehensible. So people creating Gurdwaras under the name of the Sants are actually going against the vision and beliefs of the SANT. The sant says only GOD IS THE WAY, only HE is the savior and ONLY he should be followed and loved. The Guru brought us this knowledge and their life experiences and sacrifices of the Gurus we were blessed with the knowledge on how to become a SANT and later a Sipahi.

Hope this helps,

strugling Sikh
