We shouldnt question guru sahib je, but here are some reasons i think why

- kachhera are exellent in battle, they let you move in anyway u want, and dont get in the way

- if anyone try to take kacherra of forcefully, they wont come off

- it reminds u to think twice before coming into kaam and doin somin u shouldntdo

- keeps good tempreature, in the area down there

- and the best reason of all is, GURU JE TOLD US TO

No jeee.. kaccera can be machine made etc.. It doesn't have to be hand made (but needs to have same style/design)..

There are singhs who call themselves as amritdhari but still they eat meat and do all other <admin-profanity filter activated> things.. So they are doing wrong and they are certainly not amritdhari..

It can be man made, machine made, whatever. But it has to be like same material, design, style. Prety much it has to be an old type long kacherra, with naala and stuff. And we cant change any of the kacherras. We cant wear a plastic kirpan ot plastic kara, and we cant wear boxers. Hope this helps.
