not necessarily, in guru ji's time singhs use to do paath and ardas eyes open at full alert, incase a moghul or some enemy had snuck into guru jis darbar dressed as a singh to cause trouble... they were able to focus on simran aswell as be aware of things around them

ask gurmant singh in malton. and it just shows you dont need your eyes closed to be connected to god. a lot of people do pakhand how many people actually concentrate on simran, and if they do they go do paap afterwards

You wana move .. go ahead..

You wana bob ur head up and down .. goa head..

you wana tap ur hands on ur feet while ur sitting symbolizing u playing the tabla.. gooo aheaddd..

jeez guys .. its upto the person how he or she wants to get connected to guru ji ..

WE have no right to tell anyone that his her way of getting close to guru ji is wrong..or his her way of doing simran is wrong .. if its appropriate and not to wild to the extent we start dancing .. then its wrong .. but aside from that .. having ur eyes closed .. moving around a little .. nothing wrong wit that !
