"dispose" off gurbani

how do u respectfully dispose off Gurbani..?....... i have a several papers which i printed out from the internet and just dont need them anymore

i could burn them?

or burry them in the ground?

throw them in the river?

or just wash the paper in water till the ink from the printer comes off ..

Singh I suggest you not dispose of the papers, get a big binder put all the papers with Gurbani on them in the binder and store the binder someplace high.

burning gurbani in your fireplace, or any where else 4 that matter, is so disrespectful.

have u heard of that shabad, "thur kee bani ayee" it means summat like, the word is directly from you, as in god.

just cos some gurbani aint written in a nice lookin gutka, but it is written on a scrap piece of paper, doesnt make it any different, u still treat it with respect.

my point is u dont burn no gurbani full stop.

Everybody burns bani/kesh/kakkars in their fireplace respectfully. Ask any gursikhs, ask your panj pyare, you cant just stockpile stuff. Anybody and everyone I know does this, and it is not disrespectful, all gursikhs do it.

u do what khalsa said, which was place them in a ringbinder, and put in in a safe place. or place them where u put your gutkas.

Daly jee,

what are you going to do in 20 years when you have a room full of old wedding invitations, flyers, bani printouts, loose pages, posters and calendars?

This is the way it has always been done, I dont htink there is a better way, the ashes should be let loose in flowing water as per rehatnamae.
