I have been on and off non-veg all my life. I also rarely eat from outside my house and my mom keep going on fasts for lent so we have long periods of abstinence from meat.

From what I see there is violence all over the place, and it goes in a chain where man commits violence upon man and then man takes out violence on animals. From what I perceive this cycle of violence is not going to end anytime soon and if I have to win over this cycle then I personally feel that I need to be physically strong to kill the violence that reaches me with violence. That is the spiritual component of my affair with meat. But make no mistake, eating meat is a sin and will remain a sin but violence however little will always tend to go across in a cycle and one can only 'attempt' to fortify oneself against it.
