Regarding sikh women

when a person who hasn't washed his hands distributes pershad, he can without knowledge transmit diseases to many people who partake the offering from him. But if the person who takes parshaad is unclean then he can affect only himself and his state is the same even if worse comes to worst. It is the same logic.

Yes it sounds inherently unfair and biased, and there are exceptions to the rule but rules are made so that maximum people can benefit. Common sense prevails.

goodness.. i think this topic has been discussed earlier ... well put it this way.. its not wrong to do sewa while ur having your period.. but if YOU yourself feel uncomfortatble doing sewa when your having your period then dun do it.. I personally will not do during the first few days as i feel uncomfortable.. but if your OK and your self conscious is not stopping you.. bottom line... its OK to do it as long you are clean.. no leakage.. and ur self conscious is not telling u dat its WRONG :)

Guest equality!

There is nothing wrong with doing seva be it periods or not and its all the damn culture beliefs again :)

I think its perfectly ok otherwise wat else you gonna do?

There is more to everything than your physical body -->Spirituality comes first.

this is wrong man, for practical reasons, let say ur sitting on tabiya and u have ure perioud, thas a huge paap

ifmen had something like tha, then ya they cudnt do it either

its not discrimination

its practiclness

this stops no one from doingseva

just not in guru jes tabiya

the area where guru je sits

let them do the seva..

if it has to happen it will happen ..proper arrangments will follow if this happens.. im sure guru ji will forgive them as that is how guru ji made them and not to differentiate them u know what i mean ?

if they start to menstruate while doing guru jis seva on tabiya its not their fault.. just that proper arrangements will just have to follow to clean up if something did happen..

and singh tell me this..

do we all not sweat..

dont some of us leak sometimes (im sure some have problems dat dont want to admit .. guys and girls..)

do we all not let out gas.. soemtimes its hard to control it even at times you dont want to let it out.. blush.gif ..

.. doesnt all this account for as bad as what a bibi goes through .. and this is just a short list im sure there is more..

im staying firm on my stance and thats that.. regardless of if ur a singh or a kaur..if one can do seva .. so can the other.. and thats that !

this reminds me of something, which reinforced my ida that when on seva utmost suchum shud be kept

it was out of bhai randheer singh jes book

basic story

there was an akhan paat held to gt a ghost mukhthee

it shud have worked

but it didnt

because one of the pathees unknowingly exreted semen during the night, and didnt do full ishnaan , and wore same kacherra during paat in tabiya

just because of ONE ERROR the guy got paap

and akhand paat didnt work fully, because of lack of marayda

then they did it again, and one ck singh watched carefully bout maryada, then ghost got mukht

anyways

if womeN KNOW there ont here period

and they sit ont abiya

and thy do have there period

thas a huge paap

because they knew, and they didnt do anything bout it

we shud thnk bout guru je, not oureselves

this has nothing to do with female or male

it has to do with suchum

heres another example

lets say i had mad direhaa, like cant control anymore, cause i had some bad rotee or something

i wudnt sit in tabiya

knowing something might happen, utmost suchum shud be kept

thas an example of when a guy or female shudnt sit o tabiya

and if i had a leakage prob where it cud come anytime, and wud come a lot, then i wudnt sit on tabiya either

sweating is little water droplets veer je

u have a hazooria to wipe them off before they go anywhere

if u were sweating so much u wud full buckets then i wudnt sit on tabiya

but i dunt thnk anyone sweats like that

its just a little bit of sweat, cud barle full a towel on a hot day

on normal there no sweat, or little

its ure choice

but we reap wat we sow

so do wat u want

but respect for guru je is number 1

How come Guru Ji's creation can become unclean? As sed be4 through a menstruation process life is given. Now if this proces was unclean why wud Guru Ji create it ? Think about it.

For the matter of leakage as sed be4 AGAIN there are pads not likely that when a women menstruates she doesnt wear one. You can get extra protectiv ones for heavier dayz. Toilets are also invented.

bhenjee

im a stupid guy so forgive my mistakes

but u also go to toilet, thas nantural way of cleaning insides

how can thatb e unclean

but it is

and one has to do full body ishanaa, including kesh, after toilet

if u wanna go to tabiya

thing is u dont kno when u exactly gonna start leaking

i already gave examle where a man wusnt do either,t he direhha thing

i think we shud have utmost sucham for guru je, and also perhaps take a hint from sant gurbachan singh je, one of the greatest teachers of gurbanee in our age

If a sikh, christian, or hindu throws an apple into the air, it is only going to come down and not go upwards.

Similarly there are certain principles which are common to all people irrespective of religion and it is a long-held 'perception' in mankind that God does not really fulfill your prayers if you are unclean. People are free to debate this to eternity as per their convictions, but if God is indeed fussy about cleanliness then I daresay there is nothing that humans can do about it.

Similar conditions can also be found in babies wearing diapers and really old people wearing Adult incontinence diapers. Should they be allowed to conduct prayer because everything is contained in a diaper ??

I agree with Gupt Daasan Daas Ji, when a female is menstruating she should not sit on the Tabiya (just in case of a leakage). I'm not only picking on the females its the males aswell, untill you havent had a full ishnaan I dont think its right either sitting on the Tabiya, as the area should be clean @ all times, for the respect of the Guru. the fact is it isnt about the uncleaness its about resoect for Guru Ji.

      Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,

      Dear Friends

As my small effort to preserve history, I am looking for Puraatan (old) GuruGranth Sahib Ji. If anyone knows any place or person who has has a historical Guruji in possession and is willing to part ways, please respond. Bheta (compensation) will be provided in any way requested.

      Thanks
    • I'd like to see a original source to support your argument?
    • You're very welcome! And I won't let it detract from the seriousness. As you were.

You have a point, however, the newcomers or youngsters should be inspired by the lesson that when an enemy defames or takes sikhi into the dark ages, through extremism and factually incorrect propaganda, it is your duty to fight with facts and intelligence, don't be afraid of agression, and don't be brainwashed by bukwaas. Whether that enemy comes dressed as a gora, musla or even with a turban, recognise them through their bukwaas and don't be afraid. When faced with agression it is righteous to use the same. Do not lose the argument from intellectual inferiority or intimidation. Wjkk wjkf
