Regarding sikh women

when a person who hasn't washed his hands distributes pershad, he can without knowledge transmit diseases to many people who partake the offering from him. But if the person who takes parshaad is unclean then he can affect only himself and his state is the same even if worse comes to worst. It is the same logic.

Yes it sounds inherently unfair and biased, and there are exceptions to the rule but rules are made so that maximum people can benefit. Common sense prevails.

goodness.. i think this topic has been discussed earlier ... well put it this way.. its not wrong to do sewa while ur having your period.. but if YOU yourself feel uncomfortatble doing sewa when your having your period then dun do it.. I personally will not do during the first few days as i feel uncomfortable.. but if your OK and your self conscious is not stopping you.. bottom line... its OK to do it as long you are clean.. no leakage.. and ur self conscious is not telling u dat its WRONG :)

Guest equality!

There is nothing wrong with doing seva be it periods or not and its all the damn culture beliefs again :)

(to the female Sangat) u no if you've taken Amrit and your menstruating can you wear a separate underwear underneath the Kachera?

I think its perfectly ok otherwise wat else you gonna do?

There is more to everything than your physical body -->Spirituality comes first.

let them do the seva..

if it has to happen it will happen ..proper arrangments will follow if this happens.. im sure guru ji will forgive them as that is how guru ji made them and not to differentiate them u know what i mean ?

if they start to menstruate while doing guru jis seva on tabiya its not their fault.. just that proper arrangements will just have to follow to clean up if something did happen..

and singh tell me this..

do we all not sweat..

dont some of us leak sometimes (im sure some have problems dat dont want to admit .. guys and girls..)

do we all not let out gas.. soemtimes its hard to control it even at times you dont want to let it out.. blush.gif ..

.. doesnt all this account for as bad as what a bibi goes through .. and this is just a short list im sure there is more..

im staying firm on my stance and thats that.. regardless of if ur a singh or a kaur..if one can do seva .. so can the other.. and thats that !

this reminds me of something, which reinforced my ida that when on seva utmost suchum shud be kept

it was out of bhai randheer singh jes book

basic story

there was an akhan paat held to gt a ghost mukhthee

it shud have worked

but it didnt

because one of the pathees unknowingly exreted semen during the night, and didnt do full ishnaan , and wore same kacherra during paat in tabiya

just because of ONE ERROR the guy got paap

and akhand paat didnt work fully, because of lack of marayda

then they did it again, and one ck singh watched carefully bout maryada, then ghost got mukht

anyways

if womeN KNOW there ont here period

and they sit ont abiya

and thy do have there period

thas a huge paap

because they knew, and they didnt do anything bout it

we shud thnk bout guru je, not oureselves

this has nothing to do with female or male

it has to do with suchum

heres another example

lets say i had mad direhaa, like cant control anymore, cause i had some bad rotee or something

i wudnt sit in tabiya

knowing something might happen, utmost suchum shud be kept

thas an example of when a guy or female shudnt sit o tabiya

and if i had a leakage prob where it cud come anytime, and wud come a lot, then i wudnt sit on tabiya either

sweating is little water droplets veer je

u have a hazooria to wipe them off before they go anywhere

if u were sweating so much u wud full buckets then i wudnt sit on tabiya

but i dunt thnk anyone sweats like that

its just a little bit of sweat, cud barle full a towel on a hot day

on normal there no sweat, or little

its ure choice

but we reap wat we sow

so do wat u want

but respect for guru je is number 1

bhula chuka maf

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
