  1. WJKK WJKF, The number of "Professors"/"Teachers" is increasing, the gurdwaras, especially in Asia, are filled with such parchariks/granthis. They often claim to follow the maryada of Sri Akal Thakat Sahib, which was never approved by the panth and till date, approval is pending. The problem is, they hold "gurmat" classes, do "katha" and constantly touch on controversial topics. Their views, when compared to puratan sampardhas like Damdami Taksal, Budha Dal, Bidhi Chand Dal, are quite different. They do not believe in Simran, Amrit vela, puratan maryada of JOT, Jaal, they twist bani to meet their propaganda and ignore the existence of Sant Mahapurkhs. They also do preach reading and understanding bani ON ONE'S OWN and they have no practical experience of bani and bana. They do not do katha on gurbani, except the very literal meanings and somehow I believe it is stupidity to not be able to explain bani to others and continuous "benti" to sangat to read on their own, when in-depth katha is done by mahapurkhs/gianis from dals and taksal. They shame Taksal and Dals fore being influenced by the politics when indeed majority of the students are taught the puratan maryada, santhya and history. They do have great following, and the question is why? Is it because 21st century "Sikhs" they are too smart? Or are they looking for things that meet the worldly logic only? others?
  2. is harnam dhuma, ram singh or amrik singh ajnala is jathedar of damdami taksal.
  3. Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma condemns the attack on Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale in the first statement he makes on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Foow6GCyow Dhumma says: These actions need to be condemned in harsh words. Everyone should speak out against it. Sikh Jathebandis should get together to answer back on these things and need to mobilize themselves to stop such ploys. Then in the following statement, Dhumma's words take a change in direction: Check the Facebook page of the news channel for a better version: https://www.facebook.com/abpsanjha/ Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma claims Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale have been making accusations for over 4 years and has made derogatory comments on Dam Dami Taksal's dastar and reputation. The derogatory comments are claimed to be of the very low and despicable character. I have yet to see evidence of the above claim. Dhumma believes Dhadrianwale should have looked at his own dastaar and realised it has the same honour and respect as someone else's. This is a comical suggestion as Dhumma himself criticized Dhadrianwale for his choice of dastaar style, a useless critique. Dhumma claims in 4 years he never made any derogatory comment against Dhadrianwale. This is proven false by Dhumma's critique a few weeks ago of Dhadrianwale and his dress, deferring to this chola as ghagri and making comments about his dastaar styleDhumma makes a point of Sikhs only supposed to be wearing 4 colours of dastaars. A fair point, but hardly something that warranted negative utterance toward another parcharik. Calling Dhadrianwale up and raising this concern and doing benti to stick to the four colours would have been the better move. Dhumma says that the Singhs that attacked Dhadrianwale wished to get him to stop his derogatory comments about Dam Dami Taksal. They did what they did for the the honour and respect of Dam Dami Taksal. A lot of people's feelings are connected with Dam Dami Taksal and that some can handle someone's attacks while others cannot. I have seen no evidence of Dhadrianwale making any defaming comments about the Dam Dami Taksal While it is a fair statement to say that people's feelings can get hurt and they take matter into their own hands, Dhumma comes across condoning the attack when he should be condemning it. Dhumma originally condemned the murder, but since the perpetrator are the student's and friends of his institution, the attack is now being condoned and justified. Hurt feelings over the alleged bad-mouthing of your institution's leader is not sufficient justification for attacking and attempting to murder someone Dhumma should be vehemently criticizing and denouncing what occured but instead has shifted to defending and tolerating the attack Was the killing of Bhai Bhupinder Singh, who made no utterances toward anybody, not wrong? Should his killing not be condemned? The vehicles being destroyed, while a minor misdeed in comparison to the life lost, is the loss of property funded by the Guru's sangat. Is that not worth expressing regret over? A chabeel was made part of the ruse to trick the targets into the trap. An age old tradition of seva was utilized by the perpetrators to commit murder. People will look toward chabeels with suspicion, the government has outlawed them without prior permission, and beadbi of the tradition has occured. Is that not worth condemnation from Dhumma? Dhumma says he will be supporting and helping those charged with these crimes. While raising concerns about potential police torture and brutality is legitimate, unequivocally supporting those who committed such disgusting acts is lunacy. The following is a news article following Dhumma's press conference on May 23rd, 2016: The article states: Dhumma admits the perpetrators and vehicles used are from Dam Dami Taksal Dhumma states he has no knowledge about the Chabeel being used as a tool in this attack (how is it possible to attempt to even feign ignorance about this). HERE'S A BOMBSHELL: The press note being used during the press conference (which Dhumma read from) was prepared by the media advisor of Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Dhumma read it word for word When the journalists had one on one interviews afterwards (as in the ABP Sanjha video above) what Dhumma read and what he said in those interviews went in opposite directions Questions that need answering: Why are the media advisors of Badal's cabinet ministers helping Dhumma with his press statements? Why is Dhumma putting up a farce in his statements? He is blatantly being deceitful and disingenuous by stating one thing through a press note (probably things he doesn't actually believe) and then airing his real thoughts and feelings in the interviews. Why the two-face bigotry? Overall, Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has proven that he severely lacks skills in leadership, strategic thinking, conflict/crisis resolution, honesty, and accountability. Operating as the head of Dam Dami Taksal's Mehta faction, his weakness and ineptitude in being a competent leader does a disservice to the entire Dam Dami Taksal. This incident and the subsequent severe mishandling of the response by Dhumma has eroded the reputation and respect for Dam Dami Taksal in the eyes of Sikhs world wide. Those close to Dam Dami Taksal have to deliberate with themselves and ask, is Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma's handling of the situation helping the taksal? Will it help them engage and connect with the hearts of Sikhs? Will it help them prosper and flourish going into the future? If the answer is no, we may have someone in a job way above his skill set. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I did this quick analysis just pouring over the information on the internet. If you find any mistakes, any additional relevant information, or have any analysis of your own to air, I would welcome your feedback and will make any corrections necessary.
  4. DAMDAMI TAKSAL GIVES PANTH RATTAN AWARD TO MAKKAR The Damdami Taksal held a Samagam to honor shaheeds of 1984 where Harnam Singh Dhumma gave Panth Rattan award to SGPC head Avtar Singh Makkar at Gurdwara Sahib in Mehta. In the eyes of the Damdami Taksal under Harnam Singh Dhumma, Avtar Singh Makkar must have done something to get such an award. the award has upset many sikhs worldwide as they wanted to know the contribution of avtar singh makker dailysikhupdates.com if anyone wants to see pictures of dhumma giving the award to makker the link is below http://dailysikhupdates.com/damdami-taksal-gives-panth-rattan-award-to-makkar/

  6. Khalsa Ji, as per the Sarbatt Khalsa Harnam Singh Dhumma and Balbir Singh are no longer the leaders of Damdami Taksal and Budha-Dal; they have now been replaced with Baba Ram Singh Ji who will lead Taksal and Baba Prem Singh Ji who was Baba Surjit Singh Ji's choice to lead the Budha-Dal.
  7. Ok So I tie a round (gol) style dastaar. Almost everyday I have people who think I am a singh from Damdami Taksal. Now I don't have any problem with taksali singhs, but I don't want to be called a taksali because I haven't gone to any taksal its kinda like having a false identity but I have been told by some people that when I do path I am just like a taksali. ( I have done akhand path seva bfore). I know It seems like a pathetic problem, but it could turn bigger in the future What should I do Should I go along and act the part of taksali and then go to a taksal later in my life or should I start tying a normal dumalla to avoid confusion? Help plz I get hard staredowns from missionaries at gurdwarey sometimes. I don't know whether I should argue with them or just walk past
  8. Chaos erupted inside Turlock Gurdwara Sahib in California after a Taksali Singh asked Prof Sarbjit Singh Dhunda a question on Dasam Granth. The question revolved around the maryada of Akal Takht Sahib on Dasam Granth and whether parcharaks are allowed to protest against it. After the question was asked a person with Sarbjit Singh Dhunda somehow felt offended and walked out of the Gurdwara. Sikh sangat became upset on why the question wasn’t fully answered and the urge to leave. Some members of the sangat felt Prof Dhunda was corned on the topic while some said he avoided the questions. SIKH24 OP/ED Do you believe that Professor Sahib Singh’s teeka is the best ever written on Guru Granth Sahib Ji Dhunda: Yes Do you believe that everything written in Guru Granth Sahib Ji is true or not? After some thought, Dhunda answers yes. Do you believe in 8.4 million lives and if there is a life after death or if the soul continues its journey? Dhunda is not able to answer this because he believes there is nothing after life and God has only created us to be better human beings. Dhunda’s explanations are then questioned by references from various shabads in Guru Granth Sahib. Over and over, it is mentioned that there is an after life and what we do, we will have to repent. After this was the biggest question - Do you believe in the super natural concepts mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib Ji? And do you believe that these were just written or those events actually took place? Dhunda answers, however he tries to be smart. He questions that how can a fish go in the air and how can a cow be back alive after it was dead? Responding to Dhunda’s questions, Singhs mention that Professor Sahib Singh and other scholars have all said and interpreted those gurbani verses in the way that those incidents have occurred just how they have been written. S. Kulwant Singh states that if God wants, anything is possible. So if that means the cow was alive again according to Gurbani, then it was, because God made that happen to show and honor the protection of his devotees. After this, Bhai Amarbir Singh from Manteca asked the following question - Does any Sikh parcharak have the right, according to Akal Takht Sahib to openly condemn Sri Dasam Granth? Dhunda asks that the Singhs provide him proof where he has gone against Akal Takht Sahib. Amarbir Singh mentioned that Dhunda has done so many times and there are many recordings. However, during the debate, Dhunda then cleverly changes topic and Balraj Singh, Dhunda’s main sponsor from Patterson gets up and says this was not part of the debate today. Singhs however stated that we are not asking if Sri Dasam Granth is right or wrong, it is only asked if according to our Akal Takht Maryada, is it right to condemn Dasam Granth. After this, Dhunda and his supporters get up try to leave the debate. However, Singhs pose the next question - Do you believe that doing Waheguru Simran is a waste of time and if that had any meaning for the after life. In response, Dhunda pauses for a moment, and then finally answers that Simran is only for us to get a peace of mind here in this world and that he doesn’t know if it has any meaning after since he has not died yet. Singhs insist that over and over, Guru Granth Sahib Ji answers this there is a meaning and without the recitation of God, no one will find the door of liberation at the God’s court, unless God chooses otherwise. So that being, what right does Dhunda have to say Waheguru Simran is pretty much a waste of time? Conclusion These were the basic questions Dhunda could not answer because he does not believe in these concepts. While is it is of utmost important to live a perfect life, it is important to also live life in a way as prescribed by the Gurus, ie. by recitation and understanding of Gurbani and by doing naam simran, keeping rehit, etc. If after life was not important, then why wear a dastar, keep a beard, keep rehit, take amrit?

  10. Greetings, I'm a british Sikh living in the states and want to come back into Sikhi. I plan on doing this when I return home to the UK. My question is I know I am going to have to tell my short commings to the Panj but I am wondering in Taksal maryada do you do your confession alone with the Panj or are all the others wanting to take amrit or do pesh in the same room as well? Second question. Does Taksal use larrivar saroop? Lastly, after amrit is made does only one or two Panj bestow the amrit ie face, eyes and head or do each do it once for every person. From what I read in Taksal maryada it seems as if its one or two people and not all 5. Please note I'm not wanting to start a debate on which group does what better. I just have these questions. If someone who has taken amrit at a function held by Taksal and could answer I'd very much appreciate it. Oh before I forget where in UK is Taksal Gurdwara? Guru Har Rai Gurdwara in West Brom? :read:

Facebook: www.facebook.com/torontosinghs Twitter: www.twitter.com/SinghsCampTO Instagram: www.instagram.com/torontosinghscamp YouTube: www.youtube.com/user/SinghsCampTO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is a great article written by a Singh from Toronto that we would like to share with everyone: -------------------------------- Siri Jap jee Sahib – Importance of Amritvela In the 4th pauri of Siri Jap jee Sahib, the following 4 pankitis are of great significance as far as Amritvela is concerned: From the first two pankitis (of this pauri) we find out that all that we have is from Vaheguru. Since, everything is from Vaheguru, then, what is it that we can present to Vaheguru so that we may be able to behold his Darbar (court)? Continuing on from the previous pankiti, Siri Guru jee asks second question, “what should be uttered from the mouth, hearing which, he may shower his love on us.” This pankiti proves that there is such a word, by the uttering of which, he showers us with love. We all know that this word is Naam-Gurmantra. The response to the questions in the 2 previous pankitis is most magnificent. Siri Guru jee says that in order to view his darbaar and to get his love, one must have Amritvela, Sacha Naam (true Naam) and contemplation of his qualities (through Gurbani). In other words, one must possess Amritvela i.e. get up early in the morning and do chanting of Sach Naam and do contemplation of his qualities through Gurbani When one does what is mentioned in the previous pankiti, then through his grace (karmi, kirpa naal) one receives the cloth or robe of honour (siropa) and by his kirpa (nadree) one receives Mokh-duaar (doorway of salvation). Some scholars have interpreted the word “ਕਪੜਾ” as the human form but the problem in doing these meanings is that the flow that is continuing from previous pankitis is lost. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee, Giani Bachan Singh Faridkoti, Professor Sahib Singh and many other scholars have interpreted this word as robe of honour (siropa). From the above vichaar, it is clear that the way to achieve salvation and grace of Vaheguru is to have Amritvela Naam Abhyaas. What is Amritvela? Amritvela is the last pehar (3 hours or so) of the night, which is highly productive time for Naam Japna. The whole world is sleeping and Gursikhs find this time very peaceful to concentrate on Naam and contemplate on the qualities of Vaheguru listed in Gurbani. Gurmukhs who have reached high spiritual states say that at this time there is a shower or rainfall of Amrit. For this reason, one can effortlessly concentrate on Naam and achieve the spiritual aim much faster. The nights become long and short at different times of the year. For this reason many Gursikhs stick to one time to get up year around. If a Gursikh gets up around 2am, it is the most suitable time. Some Gursikhs get up even at 11:30 pm and get ready at 12 am to japp Naam. While one must commend this effort of these Gursikhs but reading history we find out that most Gursikhs used to get up around 2am or be ready for Simran at 2am. More References from Gurbani The effort of getting up at Amritvela has been ordained by Guru Sahib in Gurbani. Presented below are some pankitis that give us hukam to get up early morning: The alert ones who are seekers of Vaheguru, with great enthusiasm get up by the 4th part of the night. Their friendship is with rivers (where they take shower i.e. do ishnaan) and in their mouth and mind is the true Naam. Baba Farid jee in his baani stated above, is making it clear that ones who don’t get up at the last part of the night are spiritually dead people. Siri Guru Arjun Dev jee Maharaj in Maaroo Dakhne (above) state that O Gursikh, if you chant the Naam at early morning and this way contemplate on the Charan of Guru, and sing the praises of Vaheguru, your dirt of birth and death (many life forms) will be erased. ॥ Translation: There are fortunate ones, who at the time of early morning take shower (do Ishnaan) and then read, hear and sing Gurbani and Naam. After taking shower at early morning with pure heart they do worshipping of Vaheguru with full methodology. The body becomes gold like by touching the Paaras of Naam and by concentrating on Jyot Roopi (spirit form) Vaheguru. Babeeha is a bird that can drink water only from rainfall. Even if there is ocean full of water, this bird cannot use this water to quench its thirst. It has to rely on rain water. When this bird gets thirsty, it cries in such mercy-invoking way that it melts the heart of who ever hears it. Vaheguru too is prompted to send rainfall to quench the thirst of this bird. When the Gursikh roopi Babeeha cries out (chants Naam with love) at amritvela, only then his cries or requests are heard by Vaheguru. This pankiti makes it clear that unless we do Amritvela, our cries and requests are not heard by Vaheguru. Amritvela is important for a Gursikh because it is the hukam of Guru Sahib to get up early and engage in Naam Abhyaas. Gurbani goes as far as saying that those who don’t get up early morning are spiritually dead. Please refer to the aforementioned Gurbani Pankitis for detail on this. What to do at Amritvela? ਮ: 4 ॥ 2॥ As per the famous salok of Siri Guru Ramdaas jee Maharaj, listed above, the following should be done at Amritvela: 1) Recitation of Naam as soon as one gets up. 2) Gurmat Ishnaan of whole of the body including the hair. While doing Ishnaan one must do paath of Gurbani, Mool Mantra or Naam Abhyaas. 3) Nitnem of 5 Baanis should begin after Ishnaan is done and not while doing Ishnaan. 4) Nitnem of 5 baanis is of utmost importance and should be done at amritvela. 5) Naam Abhyaas can be done alone too but to have maximum benefit, it should be done along with Siri Sukhmani Sahib (reference from Bhai Sahib’s writing coming later in this article). 6) After concluding Naam Abhyaas, one should go to Gurdwara Sahib or where ever one can have darshan of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee and do kirtan of Siri Asa kee Vaar. The amritvela should conclude with Siri Asa kee Vaar and if possible with Karah Parshad. 7) Then during the day, doing all tasks, one should continue doing Naam Abhyaas. 8) Such Gursikh who does Naam Abhyaas all the time through every breath is very dear to Guru Sahib. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee's views on Amritvela With reference to the above Salok, Bhai Sahib has written the following: Loose Translation: The everyday activity of a true Bibeki Sikh of Satguru is get up in the morning and meditate on Naam according to the Gurmat methodology (Vidhi Poorbak). From the second verse of this Salok, the starting of the methodology of Naam Abhyaas is described. A Gursikh should get up very early in the morning and take shower and while taking shower, he should chant the Amrit Baani and this way do Ishnaan in the Sarovar (pond) of Amritsar. Then while doing the paath of Nitnem (prescribed 5 baanis), he should do Naam Abhyaas and as a result of this doing, all sins get washed away. Then at sunrise, as per the hukam “ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੰਮਾਲੇਹੁ”, while doing darshan of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee, he should recite or sing Gurbani with sweet voice. Then while doing all works during the day, he should continue to recite Naam with every breath. Bhai Sahib writes that there comes an avastha while reciting Naam, when one’s concentration just becomes dull and one cannot derive pleasure or rass from Naam Abhyaas. To avoid this Bhai Sahib has written that, it is a good idea to do Naam Abhyaas and Gurbani Paath together. Bhai Sahib has written the following with respect to this: Loose Translation: The best way to be saved from this (avoid dull concentration) is to do Naam Abhyaas and Gurbani Paath together. And especially to do Abhyaas (recitation with love) of Siri Sukhmani Sahib along with Naam Abhyaas is extremely beneficial. Using the whip or lash of love of the beloved one (whose Naam we chant), Gurbani keeps one alert towards Naam Abhyaas and by praising the greatness of Naam again and again, it increases the love of Naam in the mind of the seeker. This love is the way to get concentration. This love alone is the medicine that takes one’s concentration high. And this love alone is the medicine to kill thoughts or bad thoughts (that keep coming in mind when one tries to concentrate). What else to say, this love alone is the greatest way to do Naam Abhyaas. Some Inspirational Stories or Sayings by Mahapurakhs Baba Sham Singh jee at a very early age of 5 years started living with a Baba Raam Singh jee. His father had died and his mother could not feed him. For this reason she came to Baba Raam Singh jee and urged him to accept Baba Sham Singh jee. Baba Sham Singh had a remarkable inclination towards doing Bhagti, at such early age. He developed so much love for sangat that he refused to go back with his mother. Once when Baba Sham Singh was only 6 or 7 years old, he became a little relaxed in getting up at Amritvela and missed Amritvela for 2 days in a row. At this Baba Raam Singh told one of his sewadaar to take Baba Sham Singh and drop him off to his mother. When Baba Sham Singh heard this, he was horrified. He could not imagine going away from sangat and this way, lose spirituality. He started crying. The sewadar lovingly told him to seek forgiveness from Sant jee. Baba Sham Singh prostrated before Sant jee and earnestly sought forgiveness for not getting up early morning. At this Sant jee forgave him and told him that if a person loses Amritvela, then there is nothing left in that person. He said if he (Baba Sham Singh) was not going to keep Amritvela in his sangat, he (Baba Raam Singh) too will have some burden of the sin incurred with this, since he is responsible for him. After this, Baba Sham Singh jee never lost Amritvela. He lived for 115 more years, after this incident. Another Singh while describing the importance of Amritvela used to say that Siri Guru Kalgidhar jee himself takes attendance of who get up at Amritvela. If a person misses Amritvela, he marks them absent but if a person regularly misses Amritvela, Guru Sahib just strikes off his name from the list. This is a very scary thought. If Guru Sahib was to strike off our name from his list of Gursikhs he monitors, what would happen of us? We would just die. Some Tips for getting up at Amritvela 1) Let’s face it. We are not Brahmgyanis. So we should not try to imitate them either. Brahmgyanis may sleep (in so called sleep too they japp Naam) at midnight and still get up an hour or two hours later. But we are mortal beings. We must sleep early if we want to get up early. 2) One may sleep late and still get up early for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days or even a week but eventually he will be fatigued and sooner or later will lose or miss Amritvela. 3) A normal person needs at least 5-6 hours of sleep. If one wants to get up at 2am, then one must strive to sleep at 8pm. 4) Another thing to note is that if we sleep well at night, there is much more energy to japp Naam at Amritvela and concentration is much deeper. 5) If one is to sleep at 8pm, one must eat dinner by 6pm and then walk a little after eating. If one takes dinner at 9pm and sleep at 10-11, it is much harder to get up at Amritvela. As per experience of many Gursikhs heavy dinner, late at night, is an impediment in getting up early. 6) Do Kirtan Sohila with full concentration and do ardaas before Guru Sahib for Amritvela. 7) Before sleeping, one should try to concentrate on Naam Abhyaas or repeatedly do short Gurbani paaths like Ramkali kee Vaar and Basant kee Vaar. 8) At Amritvela, one should strive to do Ishnaan with cold water. This helps in concentration. Despite all the efforts and tricks, we must realize that Amritvela after all is a gift of Vaheguru. For this reason, the foremost thing to do is to supplicate and beg before Guru Sahib for this gift. If Guru Sahib beholds us with the eye of grace, then Amritvela is done effortlessly. 21. To resolve the controversy triggered by the Damdami Taksal’s move to inscribe the name of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at the entrance of Operation Bluestar Memorial, the SGPC today requested Akal Takht chief Giani Gurbachan Singh and Golden Temple’s Head Granthi Mal Singh to resolve the matter with the Taksal. Rajinder Singh Mehta, SGPC executive member, will coordinate the talks. Sources said Jathedar Gurbachan Singh and Head Granthi Giani Mal Singh may meet Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa tomorrow. They said that SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar had a telephonic talk with Baba Harnam Singh. As part of damage control, the SGPC has turned around the ‘golak’ kept inside the memorial which had Bhindranwale's name on it. However, there are five more spots where Bhindranwale's name has been inscribed- two marble plaques atop the memorial entrance, two aluminum plaques on either side of the staircase and a board mentioning the history of Operation Bluestar on the left side of the entrance. The Dal Khalsa today ridiculed the SGPC president's claim that the Taksal had kept him in the dark on the issue of dedicating the memorial to Bhindranwale. Quoting from the resolution passed at the SGPC executive committee meeting on May 3, 2012, party chief HS Dhami said it clearly stated that the “meeting authorises Damdami Taksal head Baba Harnam Singh to raise the memorial near Akal Takht in memory of Sant Bhindranwale" and others killed in the Army operation.
