  1. Intoxicating pesh???

Gurfateh ji, yesterday I was making my own type of tea from scratch. I drank it and it tasted good. But today I read that we are not supposed to take intoxicants. Do I need to go pesh?? plus the nihung singhs also make shaheedi degh with sukha so I don't know what I should do. Thanks
  2. I did post this yesterday however I am not sure whether it didn’t come through or the admins thought it was a joke or someone being silly and did not allow it. However I can assure you that albeit it sounds quite silly and quite yucky I am genuine asking this question to the cyber sangat for advise as I don’t know whether this scenario requires to be brought for peshi or not. There is two parts to this: I know this sounds silly and a little yucky but I tend to pick my nose regular as I get a build up (possibly because I have a lot of nostril hair) and many times when I pick my nose some nostril hair gets picked out with it. Is this wrong? Should I be more careful? Are there other amritdharis in my situation? Also I now have a regular tendency of keeping scraping my finger in the side of my nostril and feeling the long hairs inside the nostril and slowly keep doing this and this many times this ends up pulling out the nostril hair. Its become a habit whilst I’m watching a program; previously I used to twirl my moustache when watching a program however now I am doing this. I end up feeling bad. I don’t know whether sub-consciously I am aware of what I am doing, part of me thinks I do, part of me thinks this has become such a bad habit its become second nature. Do you think I need to go pesh? I am really confused but its really playing on my mind. I know the above may sound really silly and most probably laughable to some but I genuinely need some advice on this issue. Thank you.
  3. Dear Admins, Twice I have sent a post here in regards whether I need to go pesh, yes I agree it was little discriptive however I am posting in the gupt section to get some advice. Please can you tell me your reasons for not posting. I thought this was the whole point of a gupt section. I am thinking about this regular whether I have done something wrong or not and need some guidance because asking this guidance face to face is quite embarrassing. Thank you
  4. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsaa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Sadh sangat ji, I am looking for some direction/advice. I took Amrit at a young age but ended up doing kuraits such as drinking alcohol, smoking and cocaine at one stage. It was a tough time I was going through but no excuse as I still had love for Sikhi. Whilst doing this I never slaughtered my Kes in any way. I always had a deep feeling of guilt whilst doing the above and hid it from everyone (the activities and guilt). Later I met someone also Amritdaari and she had done a kurait as well. I did not disclose my kuraits although she as aware that I was 'Amritdaari' and had taken my Sri Sahib off but kept all other four kakkars. We become a couple and one thing led to another. Anyway, we are no longer together as she passed away in a fatal accident when she was in India. I have upped my Gurbani and Simran so much with Maharaaj's kirpa since. I went to do pesh 2 years ago and took Amrit again. I wasn't able to fully explain all the kuraits I had done as one of the Panj Piyaaray just began shouting at me for the first thing I explained which is fair enough but I still feel my pesh was not complete becuase I didn't get a chance to have a word again due to the amount of praani's taking Amrit that day. Since then I have been in touch with someone and we are really close. Problem is she is married and not happy. Kaam has always been a BIG weakness of mine although I have only been with one person. I have failed again Sangat ji. Having so much knowledge of Gurbani and doing so much Simran and Seva I have still fallen. I want to sort myself out again but need to wait until I can really keep on track and get my avasta to that level. Amrit is priceless and I still remember the Panj Piyaara saying "amrit baar baar nee mildha". I would like to know if anyone has been or is in the same situation or how many times people have been to pesh and taken Amrit? Sorry for the long story but I thought I would explain the situation(s). Thank you very any answers, feedback and guidance in advance.
  5. Wjkk wjkf. I am a 17 year old amritdhari sikh and i had the urge for a couple of months to indulge in kaam. After really hard trying to fight it i gave in *edited*. I feel very guilty as maharaj said that you should look at the opposite sex as mother sister daughters etc. So please tell me if this is a bajjar kurehit and i have to do a peshi in front of the 5 pyare, or should i do ardas and ask maharaj for kirpa and forgiveness.
  6. do i need to go pesh

  8. Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa Waheguru Jee Kee Fateh I have done a horrible mistake and wish to take amrit. I have not had sex but me and another amritdhari individual engaged in mutual manual sex (hand jobs, fingering...). My punjabi is not too good and I am SO ridiculously ashamed. Please someone help me and explain to me how I would word this in Punjabi to the Panj Pyare - what do I have to say? How in the world do I say this?
  9. Accident, Need Peshi?

WJKK WJKF Sangat ji, Yesterday my upper thigh was bleeding and a band aid wouldn't stick on the wound. So, I took a towel paper and used it as a gauze. To hold it down, I took medical tape and taped around my leg to hold the gauze in place. Later on that night, when I went to remove the tape. I lost some hair where the tape was. Would I need to be pesh in front of the 5 pyare or is asking maharaaj for forgiveness through ardaas enough because I didn't see any other option at the time?
  10. Amrit Sanchar & Going Pesh

VJKK VJKF Sangat ji, I took amrit when I was 15 and have since done kurehits - sexual relationship, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes a few years ago. Got my Sikhi back in line and connected with the Guru 4/5 years ago and the time has come for me to retake amrit as I am so much stronger now and in my early 30s to do so and keep rehit (I was in a weak and low point in life at uni when this all started) What do I say to the Panj Payre at the Amrit Sanchar? I tie a dhumalla - they put Amrit in Kesh so open top parna without boongah on the day? Need help especially by people that have gone pesh. Thank you all. VJKK VJKF.
  11. Greetings, I'm a british Sikh living in the states and want to come back into Sikhi. I plan on doing this when I return home to the UK. My question is I know I am going to have to tell my short commings to the Panj but I am wondering in Taksal maryada do you do your confession alone with the Panj or are all the others wanting to take amrit or do pesh in the same room as well? Second question. Does Taksal use larrivar saroop? Lastly, after amrit is made does only one or two Panj bestow the amrit ie face, eyes and head or do each do it once for every person. From what I read in Taksal maryada it seems as if its one or two people and not all 5. Please note I'm not wanting to start a debate on which group does what better. I just have these questions. If someone who has taken amrit at a function held by Taksal and could answer I'd very much appreciate it. Oh before I forget where in UK is Taksal Gurdwara? Guru Har Rai Gurdwara in West Brom? :read:
  12. When To Go For Pesh.

I fail to wake at amrit vela, resulting in not doing nitnem paath or simran in the early hours of the morning. I feel like my sikhi saroop isn't there, which makes me feel 'dead whilst yet alive..' I set a routine and slowly it works and then something gets in the way, resulting to failure again. I haven't been consistent with amrit vela, some days are better than others but I feel like I'm sinning. Does this mean I will have to go to pesh to ask for forgiveness as I've initially broken a vow to guru sahib of not waking at amrit vela and doing nitnem bani.. Please any advice would be helpful. WJKK WJKF
  13. Pesh

I was wondering where did the concept of Pesh come from did Guru Gobind Singh Ji ever mention it or was the concept made by GurSIkhs?
  14. Is This A Bujjar Kurehit

VJKK VJKF There were a few situations I've seen and I wanted to know if they would be considered bujjar kurehits. For example, would a a sexual conversation be considered sex? Would someone have to go pesh for that? I see many people these days doing things like this.
  15. Should I Go Pesh?

Basically as part of my final year I didn't do the research project myself I got help some help from someone - who did most of the work. At the time it didn't seem like a big thing - I just considered it to be a opportunity to lighten the workload - but now a few months after I feel really guilty and regret my actions. Do you think I should go Pesh? Please reply only with intelligent answers. Thanks.
