  1. Job description The Khalsa Secondary Academy is a Sikh faith school educating students from 11-18 years of age. The Academy is committed to a high standard of Sikh collective worship and requires a lead (qualified or unqualified teacher) to teach the Sikh studies curriculum to all students. This part of the role is expected to be around 0.7 FTE. In addition, the post includes the role of the Sikh Chaplain whose main function is to provide religious services, spiritual guidance, and counselling to those students, staff and families in need. The Trust is developing a Sikh studies framework that include some or all of the following depending on the key stage: • Sikh Philosophy or Gurmat Studies • Sikh History • Sikh Social, Moral and Cultural Studies • Study of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji • Sikh Religion and Comparative studies • Sikh Religious practices and the British Law • Sikh Protocols, Rehat Maryada and Conflictions The post holder is expected to support the development of this framework and deliver teaching and learning in these areas. Team Administrator Khalsa Academies Trust, Stoke Poges - Stoke Poges Part-time, Contract The Khalsa Academies Trust is a newly formed Multi-Academy Trust that has three approved academies: The Khalsa Secondary Academy in Stoke Poges opened in 2013; The British Sikh School in Wolverhampton is planned to open in 2015; The Atam Academy in East London is planned to open in 2016. Our aim is to become the leading provider of inclusive Sikh schools which have an enviable reputation for academic achievement, breadth of enrichment opportunities set within a spiritual and caring environment. The Trust provides support to local schools in many ways but foremost for education, so it is right that at the heart of what we do is a focus on school improvement, staff development, and enabling our young people to excel. We support schools in meeting the challenges of rising expectations through mutually supportive intervention and training. All our schools are based on the Sikh ethos; which is enshrined in the principle of equality, well-being and success for all. Prospective candidates are expected to be sensitive to the religious, cultural, moral and ethical values of the Trust. This principle and our values will ensure that our young people will be poised to make a positive contribution in our multi-cultural Britain. The Trustees are looking to recruit a team administrator to support the Board of Directors. The administration assistant shall be responsible for: Daily and efficient office management. Including coordinating diaries/meetings/ travel/conference calls for the Board of Directors General office duties including, maintaining accurate electronic and paper filing, archiving, document scanning, etc. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with schools and colleagues Attending to emails, mails and messages from clients and colleagues, and telephone liaison; answering and making calls on behalf of the team. Booking of meetings rooms Photocopying/Binding of documents Discreet handling of sensitive and confidential information Assisting team members with all IT related matters Assisting the Finance Director with financial administration duties Assist the Finance Director with HR administration duties including payroll and new starters Preparation of papers and taking minutes for all Trust meetings You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require This is a part time job working 3 hours per day, 5 days per week.
