DESPITE receiving approval more than eight months ago for a $1 million religious centre to be built in Mildura, a start date is yet to be set.
The centre will cater for Mildura’s 400- strong Sikh community, with the two-storey complex to include a community centre, worship hall and 150 space carpark.
While a 5.75 hectare site at the corner of Ontario Avenue and the Sturt Highway, adjacent Mildura Airport, was purchased by the group in October last year, town planner Roy Costa said they were still trying to secure enough funding to begin the project.
