  1. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! This is the first main time Gursikhs are going to the Gurmukh Akal Takht, while the other thing, (not a Takht) goes around pretending like they have authority. https://www.sikh24.com/2016/06/08/sikhs-approach-sk-jathedars-regarding-virginia-amrit-sanchar-giani-gurbachan-singh-excommunicates-granthi-and-associates/#.V2hNC_fD_qA
  2. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, recently on my blog I made a 3 part to Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Shaheedi and the importance of it, hopefully it will help someone learn something new. Part 1:Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi Part 1 Of 3 - Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Part 2:Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi Part 2 Of 3 - Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Part 3:Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi Part 3 Of 3 - Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  3. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Recently I was seeing something related to Sikhi, just to see what many people actually thought, and I noticed a lot of false information about Sikhs in general, (especially some of whom called themselves Sikhs), a lot of it had to do with Hinduism surprisingly. Why is education for Sikhi this awful? (Do the Pracharks in India not do anything?) Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  4. Wjkk wjkf Does any sang at have any info re Baba Harjit Singh. Diwan videos very inspirational but would like background info
  5. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Recently as I have been trying to stay on an Amrit Vela, I've felt some sleep problems, (before I was trying to start the routine, I hadn't been a strong person in GurSikhi, also having some strong-minor withdrawal symptoms of previous kaam problems), I want to know if anyone else has this a problem getting to sleep at night, while trying to wake-up early in the morning, and what I can do, (With Gur-prassad of course), to hopefully sleep at the night and be capable of Waking-up early at Amrit Vela, (sometimes I can't sleep until 12 A.M.) Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! (It sometimes makes me feel weak that I can't wake-up early because of sleeping too late).
  6. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! The article talks about how some Singh used his Dastar to save something. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/sikh-man-uses-turban-to-save-dog-from-drowning-india-canal-a7067391.html Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  7. http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-news-india/golden-temple-priest-prakash-singh-badal-punjab-cm-2833052/ hopefully there will be more GurSikhs following and not allow Pakhand to happen anymore!
  8. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Why didn't the "Low-Caste" people in India become Sikh, especially with the values of equality and many other things within the path of Gurmat that wasn't in Hinduism or Islam, (especially with the whole superiority complex in both religions, with Indian Muslims considered less than Arab Muslims and Low-Caste Hindus being considered lower caste than Brahman Hindus?) What I'm trying to understand is why these people would just stay being treated like dogs and animals rather than accept Gurmat, (which has complete equality). There were clearly some who did become Sikhs though like the Vanjarias, and others; but there are still more low-caste Hindus than there are Brahmans. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  9. Kirpan Di Amrit?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, can anyone explain to me why the idea of Kirpan Di Amrit started? It seems like manmat since Guru Sahib has only ever made 1 Amrit which was previously Charan Amrit and now Khandi Di Pahul?
  10. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I wanted to know why some people wear Kalgis on their wedding day, also a side-question; why shouldn't we wear a Kalgi if we are children of Guru Sahib, (since he's the highest king, and Kalgi is a sign of royalty)?
  11. http://www.babushahi.com/view-news.php?id=39 (This is a late response, but still a response to the Pakhand, Gurdwaras have united to stop the Pakhand, despite differences).
  12. waheguru ji khalsa waheguru ji fateh how do you enjoy life things for a sikh like sports, career pursuits, watching tv shows, video games etc. I know that guru ji told us to live in the world but still stay detached with they world,. Like i don't think it's possible unless you a high spiritual level or guru ji does direct kirpa on you right? Are sikhs suppose to enjoy comforts of living in the world like tasty food, a house, car etc Doesn't these things take you away from Waheguru. How can you have any desire becuase were there is desire there can be no naam or love for waheguru you cant have maya and naam. Even if you don't indulge in comforts once you take a little posion of maya you want more right?\ My personal experience a a common sikh living in this world. It seems to be they more simran/nitenm/bani/sangat/kirtan/katha we do they better protected we are from maya but for me personal it is like maya always's win like i will win more a bit mabye few week's/months then one day i will get bad swear at someone, or get kaam out of no where. it seem's like it's a huge up hill battle were your chances of wining are low 1% and maya 99% is wining most of they world right now. Seem's like unless you get lucky with guru ji kirpa you cant really do anything you can try but that's it? Like i know i am not the best sikh out there, i try to wake up for amrit vela, try to fix my sleep had sleep problems still have they but trying to fix. i use to sleep at 4am or 5am which is really bad now i try to sleep at 10 or 11pm. When i do wake up at amrit vela only way i have done it is staying awake whole night then do some of nitenm like 2 bani then some mool mantar and simran. Yes i am amrithdahri ( if you mean i have been given amrit in amrit sanchar) then yes. i am definitely not being a sikh of the sat guru according to sir guru granth sahib. they most i could say is i am trying to become a sikh of a guru and i am a one that keeps failing at it too. One thing i have noticed in my life is i do thing's in extreme no matter what it is either i do it alot everyday or i just give up so easily. Seems like i dont have courage/determination etc to keep going some times. worldly things or spiritual things, seem's like i dont have the capability to stay balanced and do things slowly and consistently. They only thing that seem;s to help is simran and nitenm but eventually i stop doing that and then they cycle repeats its self. Here is my cycle which i think i am in i will eventually realise to start doing bhagti from get inspiration from youtuber like basics of sikhi, stories of sikh's, sant's of sikhism etc which gives me courage to start doing some simran/nitem, then i start waking up at amrit vela after much effort from simran and nitnem slowy i start doing all of nitnem and an 1hour simran/moolmantar. Then i start doing sangat at gurdwara once a week then twice a week there was a point were i went to gurdwara everyday at amrit vela for 2-3 hours doing simran /nitnem, then i also started doing seva at the langar a few days then eventually every day. only time which i wasnt doing bhagti was when i was school other then that every other time i had was doing bhagti except for sleeping of course. It got to a point when i didnt care about anything but getting the anhand from bhagti they peace and bliss was so much that i was addicted to it and just wanted to drink it night and day and do nothing else.. so i kept this about for a 1 month then one day i stoped i think i was really exhusted from that day from school and felt tried, then i was stitting on computer then a thought came about kaam in i ignored at first then eventually give in and watched bad videos' etc and touch my self. i was so sad/angry saying why i had do that and ruin all they hard work i had done, it seemed like i made a wall to protect my self but it was destroyed in a instantly by kaam. This cycle has repeating it's self for 4-5 years now, but it getting hard to keep getting up from the attacks and it seem's every time i get up and fall i fall further down the deep pit of maya, its like 1 step forward to guru then 1000 steps back for failure. I dont know anything else to do then do simran/nitnem and follow guru teaching's even though i keep failing there is one thing i have kept saying to my self that one day i will get up and wont fall again wonder if that day will ever come or not. I just hope guru ji know's i am trying to reach him. I also believe that atlest i am trying to get back up most people dont even know about this path and how straight it is to Waheguru and simple. waheguru ji khalsa waheguru ji fateh
  13. I would like to bring up an important and very relevant topic, domestic violence against Sikh women. My story- I am a Sikh woman and was beaten up really badly by a relative. I have since cut this relative out of my life completely, I have finished with them. My only regret is that I didn't send this monster to jail and believe that my weakness was shown in how i reacted to the situation, the loser walked free and I was the one who suffered and I moved out of the house without a degree or good job. To top it off, I am now being told by women of my generation (30 and younger) and also older women that I should associate with the loser, as its okay for relatives to do this and that they have all been beaten up by a male relative or spouse, and how will I get married, I need that relative and that my inlaws wont want a girl who doesn't associate with that relative blah blah blah lol! I am actually finding this all very weird as we are taught to be strong Sikh women like my hero Mai Bhago, who I believe would have beaten the crap out of any man who hit her in self defence or at the very least had them locked up, and yet Sikh women, even of my generation are being beaten by male relatives and alot are been beaten by their husbands at a young age. These are girls and women who are born and bought up in the UK. I am of the belief that Indian culture has eclipsed Sikhism so much that women now act like Muslims, living in the fear of men, of what men think of them and judge them to be, feeling that domestic violence is okay, that a slap or punch now and again is fine, and that equality for the most part is non existant. It may sound like feminist rubbish to some, but in reality, it is simply the Truth. I think that joining sikh womens organisations may help spread awareness that this isn't okay as alot of our mothers, grandmothers and sisters try and make us believe, but is completely unacceptable and should be dealt with accordingly. This would help safeguard the next generation of girls and women and teach them how to react in such situations. I was nowhere near ready when it happened to me and would have appreciated some sikh help.
  14. I wanted to know why many manmukhs just started the hatred towards Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani? (What is it with these people?) Many Mahapurukhs from a variety of Jathas followed Guru Sahib to the end, and know many Pakhands are getting popular for denouncing Guru Sahib, when was that the direction people were going?
  15. I noticed this when I started doing a Sehaj Paht from a Dasam Granth Sahib online: "ਮੁਖ ਭਾਗ", "Mukha Bhaag", "Chapter"
  16. Part II of Tisarpanth's Misconceptions Series. Here two main misconceptions are answered: 1.) Sikhi survived due to the sole efforts of the Jats and, 2.) Sikhi was a reaction against contemporary economics. To quote a few portions: 'Sikh history, and tradition, substantiates that no lapse was ever tolerated from the faith’s ideology. The names of Baba Atal Rai and Baba Ram Rai are only some of the many examples which depict the penalties imposed upon those who, for one reason or another, deviated from established norms. The former resurrected a victim of snakebite and was so sternly reprimanded by his father, the sixth Guru, that he discarded his mortal frame whilst the latter intentionally changed a line of Gurbani and was excommunicated by his own father, the seventh Guru. Summarily we can easily conclude then that it is impossible to assert that the sixth Guru who was more than satisfied to witness his own son’s demise, but could not tolerate any deviation from the faith’s ideology would concede to any demands made by the Jats.' 'Non-Sikh records mention the respect with which the Sikhs treated women, even extending courtesy and safety to those who were of their sworn foes. (19) If compared with Jat practices, historic and present, than these contrast starkly as the Jat objectification of women is a well known fact. Secondly, the Sikh ability to unite in face of a common threat historically is a well-established fact. This principle emerged out of two factors namely a channeling of all energies towards achieving a singular goal, and a singular interpretation of the faith. The Jats were and still are avid worshipers of Jatheras or shrines dedicated to some Sisyphean ancestor(s). (20) With each locality, tribe, clan, village espousing a different ancestor any ideological unity and singular channeling of energy is impossible. The establishment of Bharatpur can only be called a miracle as the Jat unity forged for it’s establishment soon disintegrated afterwards.' https://tisarpanthdotcom.wordpress.com/2016/04/24/misconceptions-ii/
  17. This is for those who may be interested, I have had the opportunity to write a number of books recently, initially they were for sponsors of the podcasts but due to demand I have decided to put some of them out on a self publication site. Slowly they will increase in number with the Sarkutavali Teeka and Gagar Cho sagar also being added in June and August respetively. At the moment there are three books available to purchase which are the 'Sahaskriti and Gatha Teeka by Mahant Ganesha Singh', 'Matra by Baba Sri Chand Ji' and 'The Jap Ji Sahib Katha 01 - Mul Mantra Katha by Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindrawale' They are all on the following link https://www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?contributorId=1393200 Thank you, and just so you anyone is aware there is no profit for these books as they all go back into the Sikhism in Snippits podcast
  18. *BENTI TO ADMIN TO PIN TOPIC* ਜੋਤਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਾਯਉ ॥ जोति रूपि हरि आपि गुरू नानकु कहायउ ॥ Joṯ rūp har āp gurū Nānak kahā▫ya▫o. The Embodiment of Light, the Lord Himself is called Guru Nanak. (Ang 1408 Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Before the true king Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had come it was a time when much of the world and humanity was lost; people were heavily divided on the basics of tyranny and causing separations based on caste and the various religions with much manmat. It was because of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, even before he revealed himself to all of humanity in an open-way, that those who were known as the 15 Bhagats and many others before that who had bhagti could have finally been saved, (in Nirankar form). The time for Vaheguru to come was becoming very much needed especially since he couldn't have sent another "messenger" to bring humanity to him, rather he himself needed to come from Sach Khand, (he is everywhere and will always be everywhere; however, this time he needed a special form). Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji before revealing himself in 1469 had also been the one to lead all the Sants to Vaheguru and had given the Gurprassad through his Nirankar form. Once he had finally revealed himself to all of humanity on 1469, it was a joyous day; he was not born; but rather he had come: he had come with laughter, (because he had not a single bit of negative karma), instead of tears and many things which lead to hope and grace for all. The first one to have discovered the coming of the Lord Vaheguru, was Bebe Nanaki, who had prayed in constant times just to get Vaheguru to come and become her brother in human-form. Next Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had to teach the "worldly teachers", who couldn't have taught him anything in the Spiritual Realm nor the physical realm; he freed the sinners who previously had been corrupted to the point of shattered death and had finally brought the sinners into the Saints of the society of Vaheguru. He was loved by all and hated by none, (eventually), this was all due to the fact that he could not be wrong. He brought the people from various religions, to instead of fighting among themselves; unite them to Vaheguru, traveled as far as other worlds, and various other special places no human could expect to go to. Unlike many other "messengers", he not only saved humans, but also broke the burden of life and death to animals and plants; (even the single-celled organisms that he wanted to free at his time, were saved)." ਜਿਸੁ ਪਾਪੀ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਢੋਈ ॥ जिसु पापी कउ मिलै न ढोई ॥ Jis pāpī ka▫o milai na dẖo▫ī. That sinner, who finds no protection anywhere- ਸਰਣਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਾਂ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ सरणि आवै तां निरमलु होई ॥१॥ Saraṇ āvai ṯāʼn nirmal ho▫ī. ||1|| if he comes seeking Your Sanctuary, then he becomes immaculate and pure. ||1||" (Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Ang 1141). Eventually, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had found the Ang to him, in the form of Bhai Lehna, (Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji), in various historical texts it mentions Bhai Lehna being tested for the Guruship; however, he was particularly born to be the succeeding light to Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Various instances were made where Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had shown to all of humanity why Bhai Lehna was the true successor to his kingdom, rather than Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's own sons. The evidence to this was while each and every single human had failed; only Bhai Lehna had stayed loyal and the most difficult of times. Finally, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji turned Bhai Lehna into the second Guru, calling him his Ang, (part) and renaming him into Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji: Bhai Gurdas writes of this glorious moment in time as: "ਥਾਪਿਆ ਲਹਿਣਾ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ। Daapiaa Lahinaa Jeenvaday Guriaaee Siri Chhatr Dhiraaiaa. थापिआ लहिणा जींवदे गुरिआई सिरि छत्र फिराइआ । During his life time he waved the canopy of Guru seat on the head of Lahina(Guru Angad) and merged his own light into him. 5 ਵਾਰਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ : ਵਾਰ ੧ ਪਉੜੀ ੪੫ ਪੰ. ੫" (Bhai Gurdas Vaaran Vaar 1 Pauri 45). The disciple was now the one to sit on the throne of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and everyone now saw Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji as the light of Vaheguru himself. This eventually continued till the giving of the Gurgaddi to Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the last form of the Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, during that time many changes happened in society. Examples include, the creation of Khalsa; the sacrifices of the Gurus in their lifetimes with Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur giving their lives for Sikhi and doing so without any fear. During this time humanity had finally understood basic values that were not possible before the coming of Vaheguru, such as the idea of equality and the need for Langar to help all of humanity, not just who became the future disciples of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In his 8th form, he had given his life to prevent the mass smallpox on the lesser people's. (Guru Sahib is greater than all of humanity). The Guru in future forms had also protected the down-ridden from being persecuted and decided to bring shastars as a way to protect the saints, and made the Dharam Yudh that humanity had longed needed. In present day many people have benefited a lot regardless whether they are Sikhs or not from the coming of Vaheguru on Earth. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  19. HINDU GROUPS LAUNCH MASSIVE GHAR WAPSI FOR 70 LAKH SEHAJDHARI SIKHS The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)and other Hindu organisations have launched a massive campaign to bring 70 Lakh strong Sehajdhari Sikhs into Hinduism in a program they call Punjab Ghar Wapsi. The VHP stated they wanted the Sehajdhari Sikhs go identify with their origins and join Hinduism. The campaign is being launched from a village level to enlighten the Sehajdhari Sikhs by handing out pamphlets and telling them that Hinduism was always open for them. A group called Hindu Nyay Peeth is reported being active in distribution of pamphlets in villages of Ludhiana and Bathinda. The Indian Express reported: The interactions have started in rural Punjab and soon seminars will be held at the grassroot-level to tell Sehajdhari Sikhs that they are not different from Hindus. We have no problem with Sehajdharis remaining in Sikhism, if they get respect and rights but if not, they should turn towards their origin. There is no need to get forcefully converted to Christianity or Islam, said Sukhpal Singh, national executive member, VHP. The effort by the Hindu group comes after the SGPC welcomed the Rajya Sabha legislation barring Sehajdharis from voting in the SGPC elections. http://dailysikhupdates.com/hindu-groups-launch-massive-ghar-wapsi-70-lakh-sehajdhari-sikhs/
  20. I was asking this question because of the assumption that morality is subjective, (except Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji message). Also, Gurbani also says "ਏਕ ਨੂਰ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਕਉਨ ਭਲੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਦੇ ॥੧॥ एक नूर ते सभु जगु उपजिआ कउन भले को मंदे ॥१॥ Ėk nūr ṯe sabẖ jag upji▫ā ka▫un bẖale ko manḏe. ||1|| From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad? ||1|" (Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Ang 1349), also I've heard from many Kathas that good Karams don't cancel bad Karams, (only Naam and Bani can do that, with Gurprassad). So is there any difference from good or bad Karma?
  21. BREAKING: PATIALA UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN ATTEMPTS TO DESTROY RARE SIKH MANUSCRIPTS Students of Punjabi University Patiala today foiled an attempt by Librarian and other conspirators to sell/destroy rare handwritten manuscripts related to Sikhi. Gurbani Pothiya, Historic Literature and writings, handwritten manuscripts were being sold off in Crap (RADDI) by Librarian. When Students noticed it, they stopped the truck and took literature in their possession. Librarian SAROJ BALA said she has got atleast ONE COPY of every Book/Writing which was being Sold, but when the students demanded her to show the copies she could not. Instead she tore down one Magazine Nirguniara which students had recovered from truck. Now the SIKH STUDENTS are protesting against this conspiracy to destroy SIKH HISTORICAL BOOKS which were being stored in University. They have demanded suspension of Saroj Bala and filing a case against her and her co- conspirators and have demanded DIGITIZATION of all the Manuscripts which have been recovered and which are present in University LIbrary. pictures of torn manuscripts can be seen in link http://dailysikhupdates.com/breaking-patiala-university-librarian-attempts-to-destroy-rare-sikh-manuscripts/

  25. 3ho?

Why hasn't anyone stopped 3HO from doing all of their manmat? If someone is new to Sikhi wouldn't that soul get permanently lost or extremely delayed in their journey to Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's message going to these people?
