  1. This is the message this latest Hindustani vile piece of Indian anti-sikh propaganda is giving to British Sikhs. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/uk/UK-upholds-ban-financial-freeze-on-4-terror-groups-targeting-India/articleshow/30541428.cms The hindustani beasts of nark dont realise in the west there are fundamental basic human rights such as the right to self determination, freedom of religious expression, peaceful political opposition, freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of speech. Something that the Indian establishment doesn't seem to understand and yet it calls it self the worlds biggest democracy.

  3. Some community leader apparently SUPPORTED Ron Leech comment, and threw in several remarks about SIkhs as well SEE http://www2.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/story.html?id=6e452021-c216-47ef-9701-da22ec1b9617&p=1 Last month, hundreds of Sikhs went to Parliament to demand that the government of India grant clemency for a convicted terrorist Balwant Singh Rajoana, who was the backup suicide bomber in the assassination of an Indian political leader. NDP justice critic Jagmeet Singh demanded the same thing in Ontario's legislature. Rajoana belonged to the banned Babbar Khalsa terrorist group, which fought in the 1990s for the establishment of a pure Sikh nation called 'Khalistan.' The movement called for the ethnic cleansing of the Hindu minority in India's Punjab state and was responsible for the bombing of an Air India jet which slaughtered 330 mostly Hindu Canadians. An Ontario MPP should be commenting on justice issues in Ontario, not using his status to stand up for convicted terrorists in a faraway land. Hundreds of Sikh Canadians happily protest in favour of this terrorist, but when have we ever seen large numbers of these people picketing on a purely Canadian issue? Shockingly, Pardeep Nagra, manager of employment equity at the Toronto District School Board, admits to having numerous discussions with youth about 'Khalistan' and sees nothing wrong with the concept. This may explain why some second generation Sikh Canadians are becoming brainwashed into supporting a genocidal ideology which is dead in the land of its origin. And ultimately, we Canadians are responsible for the presence of not insignificant numbers of people who reside here but dream of slaughtering people overseas.
  4. HI everyone, As a sikh i think it is important that the sikhs have a homeland we can call our own since our Gurus sacrificed and faught so much for our freedom, rights and our land, Punjab, which we have now lost to India and Pakistan. We all need a nation and sikhs, for a proud and militant race with a noble history still do not have one yet. Currently the only option on the table is the Idea of a Khalistan which upon closer inspection seems like a hastily put together Idea in desperation to get a sort of a consolation prize. In my opinion it holds no value and I wanted to know what other intellectual Sikhs thought about it as currently it seems as though the driving force behind the notion of Khalistan is very disorganised and poorly thought out. Please share with me your thoughts, do you think Khalistan is an acheivable or realistic goal? Here are my reasons for critisizing the notion of Khalistan: Punjab is the Sikh homeland and it is here where our religion was born. Sikhism grew to popularity in Punjab in the 16th century in opposition to the Mughal rulers policy for the entire population to submit to Islam. Historically Sikhs resisted forced conversion and faught to defend other religios groups from persecution and submission to Islam also and eventually overthrew the mughal rulers. Punjab was then ruled under sikhs as a secular nation and under the principles of sikh teachings where all faiths and creeds were treated equally and in turn was revered by muslims, hindu's and sikhs alike. So why would sikhs now demand a small portion of Punjab as a country for only Sikhs? This would surely contradict the guru granth sahib which preaches co-existence and tolerence for other religions. When I think of a Sikh nation, I think of the pride of sikhism. An impressive reflection of Sikh values such as tolerence and freedom which would breed a vibrant, clean, non-currupt, multinational/cultural democratic country consisting of beautiful buildings and beautiful statues. I hardly think a sikh-only country demanded by narrow minded individuals will be able to acheive this since there will not be a diverse enough population to draw from in order to progress economic, social and urban development. Sikhs have a legitimate claim to the Whole of the Punjab. The fact that a minority of Punjabi's are sikhs does not mean we cannot claim the whole of Indian Punjab. A sikh country does not mean Sikh-only country, the fact there are many Hindu and Muslim punjabis in India does not mean that they will object to a sikh state if it was secular. I beleive Khalistan will be rejected by the non sikhs but an Independant Punjab has more validity and will be accepted by sikhs and non sikhs alike and therefore increasing the prospect of the state being created. Punjab IS the Sikh homeland PERIOD. An independant Punjab, The Republic of Punjab, will be the Sikh nation which in line with Sikhism will be democratic and secular for all Punjabi, and non punjabi, peoples. I wanted to bring these things to light and start a discussion with real sikh intellectuals rather than with the ignorant people who are mindlessly calling for a Khalistan. I started a Facebook page to make people more aware of these issues if you'd like to support it please like or share it, link is as follows: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Republic-of-Punjab/642347095799974 thank you, I'll look forward to hearing your responses!

  6. In a major strike against the pro-Khalistan forces attempts to revive Sikh militancy in Punjab, the state police apprehended 13 Sikh extremists who were allegedly hatching a plot to target those behind the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and Shiv Sena leaders. SSP Gurdaspur, Sukhwant Singh Gill said on Sunday that the district police had picked up three militants belonging to a sleeper cell of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) -- Sukhjinder Singh from Guria village, Narinder Pal Singh of Improvement Trust Colony and Surinder Singh alias Chhinda belonging to Kiri Afgana village. He said that one AK-47 rifle, with one magazine and 20 cartridges, one US-made 0.38 bore Smith & Wesson revolver, with five cartridges and one 0.45 bore Taurus pistol of Brazilian make with three cartridges have been recovered from them. Further, the SSP revealed that by developing the available intelligence and operational leads received from the busting of the terrorist modules by the Amritsar Police and the Fatehgarh Sahib Police, the Gurdaspur Police had busted a terrorist gang armed with sophisticated weapons. It was headed by foreign-based terrorist leaders and had been specifically aimed to target a Pathankot-based Shiv Sena leader with the aim of disturbing the hard-earned peace in Punjab. According to Gill, the preliminary investigations had revealed a sinister design to revive terrorism in the state, with the help of the foreign-based terror chiefs who have motivated, supported and financed the local modules for carrying out spectacular acts of terror through the targeted killings of certain persons. The underlying gameplan behind it was to fan the communal passions in the state. And the sleeper cell was being controlled by foreign-based terrorists Harminder Singh and Harmeet Singh, he added. Amritsar Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh said, We booked today (on Sunday) three accused-- Karandeep Singh, Jagdeep Singh and Satbir Singh-- for unlawful activities and Arms Act. Following their arrest last month for alleged drug smuggling, the trio are currently in judicial custody. They shall be brought on production warrant from jail for interrogation and further investigation in the case is in progress. The Fategarh Police on Friday arrested nine youth from Tanda Mari village inGurdaspur, who had got in touch with a few militants in New Zealand, Hong Kong and the UAE and were said to be hatching a plot to kill those behind the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in New Delhi. SSP Fategarh Sahib Gurmeet Singh Chauhan said: The accused who had little knowledge of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and themilitancy era in Punjab had planned to eliminate those, who, according to them, had orchestrated the riots. They had also organised a secret oath taking ceremony in this regard. http://newindianexpress.com/nation/13-Khalistan-ultras-held-in-major-bust/2013/09/16/article1786588.ece
  7. I'm looking for more information on their role in the 1980-1990s period. How many people were killed? Did they attack more Hindus than the Sikh militants? I'd like some sources and information. Thanks.
  8. Ok, as a few people on here know I've been studying law and made myself immune to prosecution. Finding ways to spread this easily to the quom didn't fan out, so I immediately went to tackle the financial issue as I know that is the other thing enslaving us. Chain on your neck and pocket book. Wrote cheque for 1 dollar 2. In memo wrote payment in full for account ______________ settlement on account ___________ 3. Sent 4. Wait 5. Called in today as it showed up as cashed, balance was 1800 and unpaid for about a year as I was learning. Then would be to swear affidavit that they submit to your word, as silence = submission. Then file motion to dismiss. I did this after I got a false case slapped for getting into the face of a local TAVIS (special guns, gang task force for my area) staff sergeant. Needless to say he was surprised when 1. 9. Looks like our world is proceeding towards an unexpected change? First Americans offer to talk to Taliban, now Indians want to talk to Khalistanis? Do these powers genuinely want peace or are these just a new set of tricks?

  11. Now that we have seen bigger and bigger support in rallies for Khalistan. Our so called leaders should really be thinking of strategies how to use their influence to make the orange pound (Sikh money) work towards to goal of Khalistan. If you follow the jewish zionist model this is how they were able to influence the american and british govt to fight on their behalf against hitlers germany because they owned all the banks. They even negotiated with the nazi's to send jews to palestine as part of a well drawn plan to create israel. If the Sikh leaders can get their head out of the clouds and think more strategically and diplomatically they can make big strides towards khalistan becoming more viable. Also if we look at it more internationally .....at the moment most countries around the world dont want to see the break up of indian union and pakistan reason why is because economically it makes sense for them to trade with them as the status quo. If Khalistan is to get backing from other countries they must have an economic incentive and interest in Khalistan being created.
  12. SIkh boiled alive: Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu, from the village Dheerpur was tortured & boiled alive at the hands of Indian Government. Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu was born on July 15, 1961 in village Dheerpur, Jallandhar. His parents were Mata Gian Kaur and father Sd. Gurbachan Singh Sekhon. Bhai Gurbachan Singh was a farmer. In 1978, the Narakdhari cult with the connivance of the Government began to attack the Sikh faith and shot dead 13 Gursikhs in Amritsar on the day of Vaisakhi. The perpetrators were never brought to justice and were in fact protected by the Government. Bhai Gurdev Singh was deeply hurt by what had happened and after this began to remain very sad. He would talk to his friends about how much of an injustice had happened and expressed his desire to seek revenge on the enemies of the Panth. Bhai Sahib’s parents were alarmed at this change in nature and thought that perhaps marriage would help settle him down. Bhai Gurdev Singh was married to Bibi Balvinder Kaur and they would have one daughter and one son together. However, Bhai Sahib’s pain at the state of the Panth did not lessen. Along with the local Sangat, Bhai Gurdev Singh went to Sri Darbar Sahib and heard the lectures of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindravale. He was so impressed that he decided to remain there with Sant jee to serve in the Dharam Yudh Morcha. After some time, Bhai Gurdev Singh became very close to Bhai Amrik Singh and Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa. From December 26 to 31, 1983, Bhai Gurdev Singh participated in a camp organized by Sant Jarnail Singh and Bhai Amrik Singh, where Gurbani, Sikh history and philosophy were taught. The goal of the camp was to create Sikh preachers who could transform the Punjab countryside. He was given a certificate at the end of the course. Bhai Sahib used this knowledge to travel to schools and colleges to establish units of the All India Sikh Student Federation. On March 2, 1984, in a conference organized by the AISSF, Damdami Taksal and others, Bhai Gurdev Singh was made the president of the Kartarpur area. After this, the police made Bhai Gurdev Singh and his family one of their main targets. His parents along with his brothers were arrested and tortured and later even his sister and wife were taken away. But Bhai Sahib did not return home after that and refused to leave his seva. Bhai Gurdev Singh travelled from village to village organizing Gurmat conferences and amrit sinchaars. Sant Jarnail Singh also gave Bhai Gurdev Singh the seva of doing saskaar of old beeRs of Sree Guru Granth Sahib at Goindval Sahib. Bhai Sahib was busy doing this seva when the Government of India attacked Sree Harmander Sahib Amritsar and slaughtered countless men, women and children. The attack on Siri Amritsar was unbearable for Bhai Gurdev Singh. Bhai Sahib joined with Bhai Manbir Singh Chaheru, Bhai Mathra Singh, Bhai Tarsem Singh KuhaaR and others to form the original Khalistan Commando Force. Bhia Gurdev Singh became the Area Commander for Doaba and participated in many actions. He was respected not only by the Singhs in the KCF, but by all Jathebandis. The police began to dread the very name of Bhai Gurdev Singh.Under the command of Bhai Gurdev Singh, Doaba did not see any looters commit crimes. They were too terrified to act. The Hindus of the area also loved Bhai Gurdev Singh since he would help poor Hindu families by giving money and not let anyone harass them. Even today, the Hindus remember Bhai Sahib and attend his yearly Martydom Memorial. The police made many tries to capture Bhai Sahib but each time were unsuccessful. But they say that when one patriot is born, thousands of traitors are born with him. One person who brought himself close to Bhai Gurdev Singh and presented himself to be a great Sikh sympathiser, invited Bhai Sahib to his home and put a powder in the milk he served. Bhai Gurdev Singh fell unconscious and was arrested in this state. The police reached the limit of brutality when they could not get any information. They boiled a tub of water and put Bhai Gurdev Singh in. The scene of Bhai Dayala in the boiling cauldron was repeated again and this Singh too did not falter. Bhai Gurdev Singh refused to speak a word and seeing his final moments before him, only cared about Gurbani. Bhai Gurdev Singh was boiled to death but did not reveal a single companion’s name, hideout or weapons cache.
  13. It all comes down to economics and business deals. I've been doing research on the major politicans and players in the indian establishment it seems their all in one big kabal that is hording all the wealth and business deals away at the expense of the Sikhs political aspirations and ordinary indians who want a better life. I've looked into business background of indian army generals past and present and noticed they all have a stake in keeping the status quo as it suits their financial set up most are directors in major industrial companies. Too often people in our kaum start to look at things at a religious angle and start to think of wild theories that these people are all in league with some hindutva conspiracy the truth is the only conspiracy is they want money, and the greed and lure of money is what drives them no matter if they have hundreds of innocents killed along the way they want (the elitist relatively few) to live a comfortable life at the expense of others (the vast majority)
  14. Pro-Khalistan T-shirts seized Police registers case against Hondh-Chillar whistleblower Mohit Khanna/TNS Ludhiana, December 22, 2011 The city police seized 200 pro-Khalistan T-shirts from a manufacturing unit located in the Salem Tabri area here last evening. The incident has alerted the state police which had been expecting trouble from pro-Khalistan activists ahead of the assembly elections in the state. Senior police officials have said the intelligence wing has received inputs about pro-Khalistan activists getting active. The matter further snowballed into a controversy today when the police booked Manwinder Singh Gyaspura, the whistleblower who brought to fore Hondh-Chillar massacre that took place in Haryana, for inciting religious sentiments. Talking to The Tribune on the phone, Manwinder claimed that he had been implicated in the case. "The police has registered a false case against me. These T- shirts belong to one Dilbag Singh of Amritsar. I have nothing to do with these," he said, adding that a local leader, Baljeet Jassian, had been blackmailing him for the past few days. "Last night, Baljeet and his cronies along with a police officer raided the places where these T- shirts were being manufactured and seized the material. I came to know about the incident after I was booked for instigating religious sentiments," said Manwinder. Police sources said they were investigating the matter as the government had issued specific instruction to show "zero tolerance" towards any activity that vitiated the peaceful atmosphere in the state. The government has been cautioned by Central intelligence agencies about attempts by Khalistani ideologues to push in weapons to be used during the elections. The seizure of the T-shits has sent the police department in a tizzy. DCP Ashish Chaudhry said necessary action had been taken and law would take its course. The T-shirts, bearing Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's picture with "Pakke Khalistani" written on these, were being manufactured in a factory unit. Baljeet Jassian has alleged that nearly 10,000 pro-Khalistan T-shirts had been sold by Manwinder. "I suspect a political conspiracy behind the issue. The motive is to upset peace in the state," said Jassian, who lodged a complaint against the manufacturing of these T- shirts. ==================================== We can see back in 2011 they started to seize T-shirts an anti-democratic anti-freedom ant-human rights move.... It is the right for every human being to seek self-determination. Now if a T-shirt expresses Khalistan or has a picture of Sant ji and other shaheeds that is up the individual to decide if he/she wants to wear it. It is no business of a democratic govt or authority to jump in and tell you what you can have on your t-shirt. These are signs of slavery of being under oppression of the police state.
  15. I'm wondering after the baba jee pillars and elderly leaders of the Sikh community of the present time pass on....... have we got up and coming charismatic youth leaders to take their place? Or will be Sikh masses be left to their own devices and no longer an effective force against those who wish our community ill will. I can see within 5-10 years when the leaders who lived in the times of 1984 and put all their energy fighting for Sikh rights and khalistan pass on there will be no one influential will left to fight for the rights of the community.
  16. VJKK VJKF! The time has come for the Khalsa to unite. It's simple, if you have hatred towards any Amritdhari, brush it aside NOW! Next time you see the person, say Fateh! and give a smile! If you do not speak to family members, start speaking, ring, say Fateh! and talk about the Panth. Theres no point in have petty issues and breaking up the panth. If two brothers fight, the 5 kila land they own will become divided. If they stay together they will have it all. If Khalsa sticks together, and gets inner Raaj via Nitnem and Bani, Naam......then Outer Raaj will be easier. Forget the hatred, get friendly again with the Khalsa and feel the Anand. Try it. Does not matter if some one slandered you behind your back, spread rumours, attacked you, no matter Amritdhari or not, befriend all and stay as Family. VJKK VJKF!
  17. Despite having existed for almost 300 years, in their present forms, there are still many aspects of Akali history which remain to be uncovered by the panth. Their extensive contributions to the panth in blood, as well as saintliness has spread the shade of Guru Nanak's tree far and wide. Many individuals amongst their ranks have passed into and retain lofty positions in the Sikh mainstream's psyche, unfortunately however the fact that they were Akalis has easily been hidden and/or forgotten to target the Guru' legions with lies and fallacies. Not only are these lies detrimental to the panth at large, but will also (and in an ironic twist) succeed in doing what the mughals, colonials and other anti- panthic forces failed to succeed in. That is separate the Sikh from his Guru bu injuring the Guru's 'rehat.' It is up to the panth now to repay its soldiers back for the sacrifices they have been continually making for it. 1.) Baba Fateh Singh Ji- The youngest son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and one of the panth's youngest martyrs, Baba Ji was born in 1699 A.D. at Anandpur Sahib. It has been recorded in history that once the divine congregation asked the Guru to give them a sight of the divine creator. The Guru ordered Baba Ji to grant the congregation it's wish. Baba Ji stood up took an extensive amount of blue cloth, and entered a room adjoining his father's court. He emerged a few moments later dressed entirely in blue and adorning a farla. This, Guru Gobind Singh Ji then told the congregation, was the glimpse of the divine being. Baba Ji was martyred by Wazir Khan in 1705 A.D. 2.) Bhai Mani Singh- Unbeknownst to many one of the foremost and legendary martyrs of the panth, and one whose image endures even today, Bhai Mani Singh was an Akali Nihung. A great scholar and a veteran of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's battles, Bhai Saab was proficient not only in religiosity, music and battlefield tactics but also in the art of politics. His invaluable calligraphy was called upon by the Guru in the final compilation of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and for this he was greatly blessed by his beloved master. Born in 1665, Bhai Saab journeyed to Anandpur Sahib in company of his family to meet the ninth master, Guru Teghbahadur. The Guru after seeing his strong devotion and mental endurance adopted him under his own wing and alongst with the young Guru Gobind Singh and Baba Deep Singh, had him trained in various disciplines in order to enable him for service of the panth in the future. When Guru Gobind Singh revealed his desire to battle against the tyranny of the state at the time, Bhai Mani Singh eagerly flocked to his standard and prepared himself for battle. To this end he was given the privilege of accompanying the Guru into the battles of Bhangani, Dehra Doon and Naudan. It was after the legendary valour he displayed at Naudan that the Guru bestowed him with the title of his 'diwan' or minister. In 1699 Bhai Saab alongst with his entire family received amrit from the Guru, and became an Akali amongst the Guru's battalions. Pleased with his service and dedication the Guru parted with his invaluable minster when he sent him to Harmandir Sahib to render the service of 'Granthi' or custodian alongst with five other Khalsa Singhs. Bhai Saab's first action on reaching Harmandir Sahib was to discard the Brahminical rituals which had crept in due to the absence of a strong presence of Sikhs, he than set about propagating the Sikh ethos which resulted in the widespread conversions of the regional farmers. In 1705 A.D. when the fort of Anandpur Sahib was evacuated, it was Bhai Mani Singh who received and took Mata Sundar Kaur and Mata Sahib kaur to Delhi for safekeeping. After the Guru's demise, and on orders of Mata Sundar Kaur, Bhai Saab not only compiled Dasam granth but also resolved the factional friction which had arisen between the 'Tat Khalsa' and the 'Bandai Khalsa.' At the time he was the jathedar, head, of the Amritsar branch of Damdami Taksal. A position he shared with his erstwhile contemporary, Baba Deep Singh. By 1737 A.D. the situation of the panth on the Indian sub-continent had fluctuated from better to worse, until an extensive holocaust was planned against them. This resulted in widespread executions and torture of Sikhs irregardless of age, gender and affiliation. It was only Bhai Saab's influence with the Muslims and Hindus of Amritsar which prevented his execution at the hands of the state. Despite this, he was still saddened by the plight of his contemporaries and Khalsa brethren. Knowing that Zakariya Khan, the tyrant of Lahore, would not stop his holocaust of the panth as long as there was breath in his body he decided to apply for permission for Sikhs to celebrate Diwali in Amritsar. When Zakariya demanded what he would receive in turn Bhai Saab replied he would pay him an extensive sum of cash. To this Zakariya agreed, but already his Machiavellian mind was making other plans. A few weeks before Delhi he had his soldier step up their surveillance rounds and extend their patrolling borders. This resulted in a mass exodus of Sikhs going underground and as a result not one individual coming to celebrate Diwali in Amritsar. Thus, a strong pillar of the panth, Bhai Mani Singh was check-mated by Zakariya who had him arrested and brought to trial almost immediately. Bhai Saab however was not deterred. Twelve of his sons had already accepted martyrdom before him, and he was not deterred in following them. When given the option to convert to Islam he refused, and with unnatural joy accepted his sentence condemning him to be hacked to death. The day of martyrdom finally dawned and Bhai Mani Singh prepared himself to follow in the footsteps of the countless martyrs gone before him. It is said that when the executioner was readying himself to execute his orders, Bhai Saab stalled him and indicated to him to hack him into the smallest pieces possible. All through his bloody demise he remained peaceful and finally with the name of the beloved creator on his lips, he breathed his last. His martyrdom resulted in a mass-sclae uprising of the panth which had been thought impossible, and ultimately became one of the many flames which catalysed in the birth of the Sikh empire. 3.) Baba Binod Singh Ji- A descendant of Guru Angad Dev Ji, the second Guru of the panth, and an able warrior Baba Binod Singh was the head of the Dal Panth (in succession to Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself) and the first head of the Budha Dal. A strategically able general and a lethal fighter, he was one of the 5 Singhs commanded by the tenth Guru to accompany Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in his mission of destruction. Ultimately after declaring Khalsa-rule and carving an empire for the latter, Banda Singh forgot about his vows to the Guru and renegaded by creating the 'Bandai Khalsa.' This was a neo version of the Khalsa ordained by the Guru, and discarded many of the Guru's commands. They took to wearing red and foregoing the traditional greeting of 'Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh' and tradition of 'Jhatka.' In order to prevent a mass infiltration of Bandais (as they were known) into the 'Tat' (true) Khalsa, Baba Binod Singh alongstwith his forces left Banda Singh in 1713, and went his own way. Ultimately after a series of confrontations with the 'Bandais' the panth was made whole once more, and Baba Binod Singh passed jathedari of the Dal Panth to Baba Darbara Singh. 4.) Nawab Kapur Singh- The father of the modern day Dal system, and third jathedar of Dal Panth after Baba Binod Singh Ji. Nawab Kapur Singh was a charismatic individual who transformed the Sikhs from refugees into warriors. His extensive campaigns against the mughal and Afghani forces soon made him a force to be reckoned with, and he was bestowed with the elite title of 'Nawab' of the Khalsa panth. Born in 1697, he played a pivotal role in Sikh politics and warfare. Ultimately he carved an extensive amount of territory for himself in Punjab, and became head of the famed Singhpuria confederacy. Along with Baba Deep Singh, Jassa singh Alhuwalia and other confederates he transformed the gateway of India into a solid blockade and undertook extensive campaigns against Delhi. It was under his guidance that the Dal Panth was split into seven entities. The Budha Dal, the Tarna Dal and it's five subsequent battalions. After bonding the panth together into an unbreakable coalition and passing 'Nawabship' otno Jassa Singh Alhuwalia, he breathed his last in 1753 A.D. 5.) Sultan Jassa Singh Alhuwalia- A forebear of Nawab Kapur Singh, and fourth jathedar of Budha Dal. Sultan Jassa Singh Alhuwalia was the matriarch of the legendary Alhuwalia misl and one of the most feared foes of mughals and Afghanis alike. Raised by Mata Sahib Kaur, the mother of the Khalsa, and trained by Nawab Kapur Singh he was famed as a legendary warrior and a master of Gurmat. He was instrumental in bringing about the birth of the Sikh empire, and was the last individual who held the Sikh confederacies together. Born in 1718 A.D. in a family of Sikhs, he was filled with a religious passion at a young age. This passion ultimately shaped him into one of the most fearsome warriors the panth has ever known. It is said that he nearly decapitated Ahmad Shah Abdali, the Afghan overlord, during the bigger holocaust and it was only the timely intervention of the Shah's horse which saved him. Even then the horse was decapitated into two clean halves by Jassa Singh. He also dedicated himself to the rejuvenation of Amritsar, especially Darbar Sahib, which had suffered extensively due to the Afghans and mughals. He died in 1783 A.D. and was cremated by his beloved Darbar Sahib. 6.) Baba Sahib Singh Kaladhari- Ninth jathedar of Budha Dal, and the last Akali jathedar of Akal Takhat, Baba Sahib Singh Kaladhari's name struck fear into the hearts of the colonials during the raaj. In an extensive undertaking to destroy Sikhi via conversion, the colonial government banned and falsified many traditions of the panth in order to crush its indomitable spirit. Many of these fallacies continue even today, especially the debacle over the authenticity of Dasam Granth and 'Jhatka.' At the time it was only Baba Sahib Singh Kaladhari who rose to the fore to challenge the colonials and succeeded in dissolving many of their policies. It was he alone who made it possible for Singhs to carry Kirpans and wear farlas on their dastaars, under the colonial government who wanted to ban such practices. The forebears of the Akalis and the SGPC succeeded in sullying his image, however, as a result of which he was constantly attacked physically as well as otherwise. His sacrifices and actions were soon forgotten and ultimately only the Nihungs treasure his memory today. A shame on the Sikh nation for forgetting one of it's diamonds. 7.) Baba Sohan Singh Ji Bidhi Chandia- Born in 1904 A.D. Baba Sohan Singh was the tenth jathedar of the Baba Bidhi Chand Dal. His father was the ninth head, and as a result, he grew up in a Gurmat environment surrounded by Akali Nihungs. After succeeding his father he established his dal, as a battalion in 1929 and undertook and extensive preaching tour throughout Punjab. He preached the gospel of the panth to many individuals in the isolated regions of India, and a s a result Sikhi flourished in areas where it had never even been heard of before. His 'chakarvarti' (nomadic) battalion traveled from one region to another planting the seeds of Gurmat wherever it went. He also took an extensive hand in the declaring of Gyani Kartar Singh Ji as the rightful head of Damdami Taksal. Ultimately this illustrious abbot breathed his last in 1975 A.D. after passing jathedari onto his son, Baba Daya Singh Ji. 8.) Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma- One of the greatest martyrs of the Khalistan movement, and an illustrious head of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), Bhai Saab joined the Baba Bidhi Chand Dal at a young age and became heavily engrossed in seva of the Dal's horses. Born at village Brahmpura (hence the Brahma) in 1951 A.D. he was influenced by Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's call to arms for preservation of the panth in India. His Dal answered the call with great gusto and he alongst with thousands of others raised weapons in the face of the Indian state's brutal expulsion of democracy. It was during this time he became head of the KLF and became famed as the 'Sikh Robin Hood.' His daring exploits, in which he assassinated politicians and armed personnel plaguing the common man, soon became famed globally and his image inspired many foreign Sikhs to travel back to India and fight against the tyrannical Indian institution. Ultimately after a long and fabulous career as a revolutionary he attained martyrdom in 1988 A.D. http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2013/04/some-lesser-known-akali-singhs-who.html
  18. I'm thinking they must have discussed issues that are currently arising between Sikhs in uk and india due to the mass protests last year regard bhai rajoana. so could it be that David cameron has conspired and assured badal and terrorist indian congress party that the voice of the Briitsh Sikhs will not be heard if death sentences were carried out against Sikh political prisoners? all in the name of keeping the status quo, economic ties against decent civilised norms of natural human justice, fairness and other human rights. Why hasnt he nor his ministers (william hague foreign secretary and home secretary therasa may) not spoken out against the anti-justice and anti-democratic steps and credentials of Indian government?
  19. I've been analyzing the situation of the taliban in Afghanistan and how our own Khalistan forces of the past have the same sort of determination and faith when engaging the enemy foe. Obviously we have massive difference in faith / ideology and war/ peace time codes of conduct however we can now see in this corrupt world were the rich get richer and poor get poorer and the major powers of the day do not want to let the smaller nations breath the air of freedom and independence .....only through military force do things change drastically politically and the aggressors are forced to the negotiating table after they have seen they cant win with their foolish violence oppression and state terrorism against the population of a targeted community. The taliban will take over Afghanistan once the Americans and other nato forces leave, its only a matter of time. Looking back at the Khalistan forces they had the same determination to shake off the shackles of the occupying genocidal imperialist power (indian government) but lacked funds, numbers, advanced military training, lack of geo-political allies. The taliban are lucky they have covert supply chains from pakistan's ISI, Russia, Iran, arab / muslim countries, muslim NGO's, have enough numbers (ie indigenous pasthuns of the area), terrain they know well, etc. Just wondered if Sikhs were not located in such a messed up in geo-political set up stemming from the mistakes of 1947 .... Khalistan would have been established by now especially by exercise of arms.
  20. i've been remembering websites that i have visited in the past and now when i search for them they no longer exist was wondering if anyone else came across these websites and knows of others that have disappeared? http://www.khalistan.com http://www.burningpunjab.com http://www.akalidal.org website for british sikh federation has disappeared?
  21. Let us take a moment to sympathize with those individuals who want to see the film but cannot due to transport impossibilities in foreign nations. Some don't have cars, others don't have motorbikes. Can a seva be arranged in various nations to help such people. It just hit me as I am one of those individuals, like we can go in busses etc and contribute some finance towards our fare. Just a thought. As the fancy banana said I might be Nihal's next scapegoat. If so then you can always criticise me on BBC.
  22. This blog here has started a series on top 20 Sikh battles. It is quite interesting actually. Take a look at the narratives. Top 20 Sikh battles. An almost paradoxical and polarizing statement, especially in face of the fact that Sikhs have been involved in countless battles since time immemorial; which not only highlight their legendary valor but almost supernatural acceptance of death. These 20 battles, however, have been singled out due to the astronomical factors orbiting them. Chamkaur, Sabroan, Manochal are only a few of the names which bring to mind images of astronomical legions facing an almost preposterous number of defenders. The outcome, in these battles, was already evident even before steel clashed upon steel, and cannons fired upon bodies of men, yet in spite of this the Sikh warriors who participated in these battles fought to their last drop of blood and continue to inspire individuals today to face death with a resolute calmness. The world might pay obeisance to one Thermopylae, where 300 Spartans squared off against Xerxes's Persian hordes, yet the Sikh nation has 20 separate Thermopylae's. The First Battle: Chamkaur. Fought in 1705 A.D. The birth of these 20 battles can be pinpointed back to Chamkaur, where a contingent of 40 Sikhs faced the titanically humongous 40,000 strong mughal detachment, sent to pursue their commander-in-chief, and spiritual master, Guru Gobind Singh. The background to Chamkaur is as bloody as it is complex. It was the catalyst of almost two years of warfare involving hundreds of fatalities on both the offending and defending sides. The tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh's, call to arms and the creation of the Khalsa- a militant entity consisting of saint-warriors- had not gone down well with the Hindu monarchs whose principalities bordered his. The induction of victims of political and religious extremism into the Khalsa convinced the monarchs that their way of life was in danger, and the Guru possessed a threat to their suzerainty. They had already measured swords with him before and come out the worst for the wear. To this end they decided to approach their overlord; the mughal emperor Aurangzeb for assistance in curbing what they saw as the Guru's growing revolution. Aurangzeb was already aware of the Guru's revolutionary tenacities and militant spirit combined with a natural charitable nature. The Guru's doors were constantly open to any individual who was persecuted by the state on the basis of his faith or beliefs. To this end Aurangzeb had placed constant surveillance on the Guru. He had had also ordered the execution of the Guru's father, and predecessor Guru, Guru Teghbahadur, who had advocated multi-religiosity and in doing so had defied the state. This and the constant implorements of the Hindu monarchs, convinced Aurangzeb that the Guru was after his own suzerainty despite being aware that the Guru harbored no political ambitions or convictions. To this end he summoned his generals, and soon a combined force of imperial and royalist troops set out for Anandpur, the Guru's stronghold. The Guru however had not been sitting idle during this time. He had been constantly attacked in the early 1700's by royalist forces seeking to evict him from Anandpur, which had been purchased by his father from the King of Assam. Realizing that his foes would now petition Aurangzeb and whip up a frenzy of religious extremism to subdue him, and the Khalsa as a result, he started strengthening the Khalsa forces and his sub-ordinate strongholds. As a result, by the time the joint force arrived in May the Guru was well prepared to enter into combat with them. Anandpur, the central stronghold, was situated on mountainous terrain and the Khalsa exploited this well. It launched a rain of bullets and arrows upon it's foes down below, and the Guru personally lead his fighting forces into hand-to-hand combat, slowly decimating the enemy's best warriors and generals. For more than seven months the Khalsa held out despite suffering from a lack of edibles and scarcity of water. It's ever ready state, along with it's war-like temperament proved too much for even the imperialst's moral who soon started losing spirit. Ultimately a conference was called by the joint nerve center of the mughal-royalist force, and a plan was born. Both Hindu and Mughal officials would petition the Guru, by swearing on the cow and Quran, to evacuate Anandpur. The Guru, who they predicted, would surely accept this and would be attacked as he was leaving and the Khalsa would be permanently decimated. Unbeknownst to them, the Guru had already second-guessed their treacherous maneouvre and by the time their petition arrived was in no mood to leave. He decided to wait out and improvise upon his situation. The Khalsa too supported him in this, and ultimately after forcing the imperialo-royalist force through a nerve-wracking wait decided to leave on the 5th of December, 1705 A.D. Just as the Guru had suspected his treacherous foes attacked him, and in the ensuing confusion the Khalsa attempted to cross the river Sira which was in full spate. As a result the Guru was separated from his main body of 200 soldiers, and his mother and two younger sons. After crossing onto the other side of Sirsa a head count was taken and it was discovered that only 40 warriors were left with the Guru. These 40 also included the Guru's two elder sons and apostolic body, the 'Panj Piares' or five beloved ones. After assessing his situation the Guru lead his charges into a nearby brick dwelling and decided to seek shelter from an impeding storm. Unbeknownst to them however a strong detachment of up to 40,000 soldiers was heavily embroiled in their pursuit and soon had them besieged. With no food or water, and only 40 men with him it was up to the Guru to decide the fate of the Khalsa at this critical juncture. Would he surrender or would he declare combat? He decided to opt for the latter. It is said that when a certain number of generals came to ask the Guru to surrender, his answer was a hail of arrows which soon had them fleeing and declaring an imminent charge on his position. The Guru in the meantime had assessed his situation, his men possessed arrows and a small number of guns. If used properly and sparingly these could inflict heavy casualties on the enemy. Secondly his location was surrounded by high walls, which acted in the same capacity as the fort walls at Anandpur. Not only did they provide a vantage point for him but could also be used as cover for his archers and snipers. His men also carried bladed weapons, which would prove useful in hand to hand combat and thirdly they still retained their horses with them. If it came to charging out into the midst of the enemy and/or making a quick getaway (which at the time seemed impossible) than these would prove quite instrumental. Thus with his capacities assessed and his men readied the Guru alongst with his men launched a tirade of death upon the charging imperialist troops. One also has to take into consideration the battlefield itself. If the imperial generals spread their forces out than only a sub-section would reach the designated target, whilst the others would be thinly spread out and easy picking for a sniper or archer. Thus they decided to crowd their men into lines which would charge the dwelling. They however had not suspected the Guru's resilience and were badly beaten back the first time more so, it seems, due to shock and surprise at the valor displayed by their providential prey. Soon however the Khalsa artillery began to decrease and a decision was taken to start sending out individual platoons to challenge the enemy to hand-to-hand combat. 5 warriors, armed to the teeth, were sent out and their companions in arms waited to see the result of their choice. The awe which the Persians must have experienced at Thermopylae, was also evident in their descendant's faces. Their 5 foes, preposterously, proved to be a strong wall slaughtering imperialists left, right and center Each and every time a soldier tried rushing them he was immediately cut down and trampled upon. With their bloodied beards and bodies, the Khalsa warriors fought with the air of men who carried the desire to marry death. Ultimately this wish was finalized as one by one they began to fall and ultimately not even one remained standing. The awed imperialists once more gathered together and again raced towards the Guru's position. The Guru who had been watching from the top of the structure, and was in an exposed position, shouting out war cries was now approached by his eldest son Ajit Singh. At only fifteen years of age, this son of the Guru had already proven himself as a resolute general and resilient warrior. He expressed his desire to his father that he too wanted to go out into the battle field and measure swords with the enemy, and go the way of his Khalsa brethren. The Guru at the time handed him a spear, mounted him on a horse and with his full blessings sent him with four others, into the midst of the regrouping enemy. Ajit Singh and his companions too proved to be an immovable wall in the face of the enemy, and steadfastly decapitated any soldier valorous enough to step into their path. In the midst of the battle Ajit Singh finally singled out a prominent enemy general, and with all the force he could muster, speared him through the heart and deprived the enemy of one of it's strategic brain cells. Ultimately Ajit Singh too went the same way as his predecessors, and on seeing this the Guru expressed his joy and picked up the tendum with which he was shouting his war cries. By this instance in time the enemy had been pushed far enough back to grant the Khalsa and the Guru a reprieve. Yet this situation lasted only a few moments, soon the imperialist hordes were once more charging towards their target, and the Guru started picking new men to enter the fray. This time his second son, Jujhar Singh, who was only twelve volunteered to enjoin the enemy as his brother had done. The Guru too gave him the same treatment as his brother, and sent him out into battle. Jujhar too bravely fell and by the time dusk eventually came, both sides settled down to wait the night out and re-progress fighting at dawn. Ultimately as they say 'the rest is history.' It will be sufficient at this stage to say that the Guru managed to slip through the grasp of his proclaimed foes, and continued to wage perpetual warfare against their tyranny. What we however must give due credence to is the fighting, and strategic capabilities of the Khalsa warriors. Despite being physically starved of any food or rest, lacking water, and being entrapped in an almost perfectly formed trap they still managed to fight their way out of it. There was no colorful strategy involved in this battle. But the inner convictions and spirits of men who know they will surely die, but want to do so as beacons of resistance. Chamkaur truly changed not only the face of Sikh history, but also world history as no battle before ever involved the astronomical odds which the Sikhs had faced then. http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/top-20-sikh-battles.html
