  1. Conversion to Sikhi ?!

    Is conversion to Sikhi welcome ? I wasn't born in India (we only go there once every three years to meet relatives) so I can't really read the Gurmukhi script or any proper punjabi script....... My parents took me to a gurudwara regularly as the closest temple was too far, and my hindi was weak so I didn't want to go there anyway. I'm aged 16 - 20 if that matters.
  2. Why do many Sikhs wear Hindu Threads around their wrists? I have seen so many. They also wear the kara at the same time. At many a time I have thought about giving one of these confused people a good hard thapar for their foolishness. But not sure what its all about. Are these people copying Hindus?
  3. Though Mahatma Gandhi start quit India movement in 1942, he was not pioneer for starting quit India Movement. Pioneer was Baba Ram Singh kuka Namdhari, who started social boycott and all types of boycott of foreign products and services. Baba Ram Singh started nonviolent as well as armed struggle by making relations with Russia, Nepal. He openly all of the, namdharis said Quit India for that purpose there was a slogan sung in Punjabi “Goreyo desh shad deyo raj khalse karna” “Chavni kardeyo khali Khalse ne Bhang beejni”. Unfortunately Baba Ram Singh’s decedents and other followers were not Prime Minister like Nehru and they were not well educated. Therefore, Baba Ram singh have not been promoted in media as promoted was Mahatma Gandhi. Actually there was no media in 19th century, like in 20th century to promote this freedom cause of Namdhari Baba Ram Singh.
  4. I am a sikh girl from punjab. My age is 25. I fallen in love with a hindu guy originally from UP but now settled in punjaab. He is really handsom and I love him a lot. But my family is sikh sardar. My boyfriends mother is saying the child will be raised as hindu and all hindu ceremonies will be performed on future son like mundan, ear peircing, janeu. I told my parents. Their parents met my parents and my parents are ok with it. my father and mother is amritdhari still they are allowing me to marry a hindu boy and future son will be hindu without turban. I am ok with it. But my local gurudwara granthi telling me its not good. and some aunties also telling same. I am confused . Please tell what I should do. My other 2 sikh friends have also married good looking hindu boys but I dont know if I am doing right thing although i like him.
  5. Is there any limit to how low the hinduists can fall while inflated by their own fake ego over nothing. In this another article I stumbled upon, they shamelessly deny that Guru Teg Bahadur sacrificed his head for the sake of dharam in general and protection of kashmiri pandits. Rather they say Guru was protecting his own "tilak" and dharma . That guru was hindu himself. Then they twisted the line "tilak janju raakha prabh taa ka" (from dasam granth) to suggest that Guru Gobind Singh ji was referring to tilak of Guru Teg Bahadur ji and not hindus. I can enumerate so many of Hindu Punjabi big brand businesses right off my tongue and I am not even a very savvy person : Mahindra & Mahindra (automobile and finance) , Bajaj (2 wheelers and finance), Airtel (telecom) and then ofcourse half of uber-rich bollywood film industry is run by Kapoors (Punjabi hindus). Now contrast that with Sikhs . We had Ranbaxy (pharma) but sold it off, Apollo (but it looks like half his family is having hindu names). Also if you noticed, Punjabi Hindus tend to live mostly in Urban cities in punjab . Jalandhar ,Chandigarh, etc are mostly Hindu. Sikhs on the other hand are mostly into rural punjab and can't think of anything beyond farming. When Sikhs come to urban spaces , they can't think of anything except petrol pumps, Automobiles , Transportation. Looks like our kaum is attached to vehicles in some way lol. If you look at corporate India , most of top CEOs tend to be madrasi . I guess sambar chaul is giving them brains

    Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Can anyone explain logically why caste still exists in our Panth? Especially among those who tell everyone caste doesn't exist to the outside, but when it comes for actually putting it into practice they forget everything about the right side. There are Hindus today who value their personal caste less than some Sikhs which is just depressing if you asked anyone. Also how can we logically combat this idea in some old-aged Pakhandis minds. Especially among Pakhandidharis, (those who took Amrit yet still keep Non-Sikh practices), which makes people question the need for Amrit. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Disclaimer foreword : I don't intend to spread any kind of animosity between two communities but will just share the kind of things hindus said about our sikh gurus, about our dastaar , etc. This is my first hand experience. I joined my current office in July 2015. I wanted to get along well with everyone , but soon realized my distinct appearance (turban and beard) didn't go well along with some of them. In lunch table I started getting ridiculed I remember this motherfucker started mocking me. He was a south indian 1) Why do you tie that thing on your head ? to keep your head from exploding ? 2) Why do you people wear that dagger ? *after I explained him , "So if a sikh woman is gonna chop vegetables, but forgets her knife in kitchen, can she use Kirpan?" 3) What do you do if you gotta ride a bike ? how you going to wear your helmet ? 4) What you gonna do if you got an itch on your head ? how you gonna scratch ? *laughs* One of them other , when I showed him a pic of Guru Gobind Singh ji made a face of disrespect and said "What has he done ?" . then finds and shows me 'santa banta jokes' . "this is only thing you're good for, this is your only history lol" He's a loyal far-right winger "nationalist". All the while, these people always kept praising shivaji , their hero , even this south indian guy kept praising shivaji .They would talk of going to temple together. So it proves they do have some hindu sentiment in them . They're not truly atheist ! I had heard of RSS people in my earlier years, but this was first hand hate experience of hate from hindus ! When I told them of sacrifices of sikh gurus, they usually went in denial mode. I was honestly very revolted. I once cursed one of them "may you die with maggots inside you " . Once these people also called Khalsa terrorist ! And mocked sikhs right to wear kirpan ! Also , these people always united , even if one of them said wrong to me . I didn't used to hate hindus, but after these experience, I would say I don't really call them "brother" as I used to !

  10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh This is general a topic, and is here to gauge people's opinion on two issues. First of all thanks to the Sikh Sangat for allowing open air discussions. The first topic I want to address is what I see a growing a trend among Sikhs in the west, UK, Canada, US etc. there is a lot of anti-Hindu sentiment. Now people are understandably against 1984 and this has left a bad taste, but shouldn't we label these people as bad doers and not put all Hindus into that lot. A lot of us don't but the majority of Sikhs hold a grudge. My main point being forget Hindus/Sikh divisions inwards into the panth, develop yourself and the panth. We are our biggest downfall, we tend to focus more on others and not ourselves. Second topic, is the rising use of the word Quom, one only has to go many katha talks or turn on sikh tv channels to see the word now appears more often. What is the cause of this trend? Also as I understand it the word is Arabic/Islamic in nature, one can associate it with tribe or caste, but since when did Sikhi become a tribe. One should know that tribes in Punjab follow similar to the Jati/Clan families e.g. Jat, Sindhi etc. I feel the religion shouldn't use this word, just call it Sikh Panth, Sikhi applies to all. Recently I was seeing something related to Sikhi, just to see what many people actually thought, and I noticed a lot of false information about Sikhs in general, (especially some of whom called themselves Sikhs), a lot of it had to do with Hinduism surprisingly. Why is education for Sikhi this awful? (Do the Pracharks in India not do anything?) Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  12. There are such families in which one son and his wife, kids, grandkids are Sikhs and another son and his family are Hindus. As much as I have observed it is such families who are likely to call Sikhs Hindus or call themselves also Hindus and perform Hindu rituals as well. Due to such families Sikhs are called Hindus by many Hindus also. Where did such families come from? Such families are most confusing. Some of them have say, an Amritdhari sister and jija but cousin will be a Hindu with cut bair, Hindu name and all. Or mother in law, father in law will be Hindu but only husband will be Sikh. Men, women and kids of such families usually do Hindu rituals. How did such families come about? What is their history and origin? If one son became a Sikh then shouldn't he and his wife, kids, grandkids have always followed Sikhi properly instead of looking like Sikhs, sporting Sikh names yet still doing idol worship, pujas, vrats, kanjakan etc alongside? What's the point of "becoming" Sikh like this? It is exactly such families that are used to defend interfaith marriages or claim Sikhs are sect of Hinduism or Hindus and Sikhs are same thing. Kids of such families also look like confused lot and rather closer to Hindus. They might be wearing turban but know mantras more than Gurbani! And worship like Hindus (worship of Guru Granth Sahib is no different from idol worship for them, they just keep lighting diyas, incense around SGGS, put flowers or other chadhawa in front of it but rarely understand Gurbani nor do Nitnem regularly!) These have been bane of Sikh community IMO and never bothered about Gurbani or Maryada (though rare exceptions might have been there).

Golwarkar, the second leader of the RSS: "To keep up the purity of the Race and its culture, Germany shocked the world by her purging the country of the semitic Races - the Jews. The Race Spirit has been awakening." "The non-Hindu people of Hindustan must either adopt Hindu culture and language, must learn and respect and hold in reverence the Hindu religion, must entertain no idea but of those of glorification of the Hindu race and culture ... In a word they must cease to be foreigners, or may stay in the country, wholly subordinated to the Hindu nation, claiming nothing, deserving no privileges, far less any preferential treatment—not even citizens' rights." These horrific offerings are distinct from Islamic fundamentalism in some very important ways: 1 - Islam is not an inherently racist creed. Hindutva on the other hand appears to take for its inspiration the same sort of racial theories propounded by the Nazis, and covertly advocates genocide in the pursuit of Hindu racial hegemony by recommending Hindustanis to adopt Nazi methods. Even the pictures of them in their uniforms and at their rallies in formation evoke echoes of the Third Reich. 2 - Shariah law is repugnant, there can be no doubt, especially in point of its treatment of unbelievers. But even non-Muslim dhimmis living beneath the aegis of the Dar-ul-Islam are afforded basic rights such as protection by their rulers. Hindutva would deny them even that. It would literally reduce them to a subhuman level. 3 - It is based on a dangerous hallucination. The forces of Hindutva have somehow managed to utterly convince themselves that the laughable Hindu record of defeats at Muslim hands was actually a 'gallant fight' (to take the words of Gokalwar himself). Only a person of breathtaking psychiatric imbalance could perform these sorts of mental gymnastics. The cause of Islamic Jihad is manned by stupid fanatics - the cause of Hindu nationalism is manned by insane fanatics. This is scary stuff. I haven't yet decided whether it frightens me more than Islamism, but that there should even be a contest between the two says it all. Also, it bears mentioning that whilst Punjab hasn't really been affected by Jihad, the tentacles of the RSS have embedded themselves deeply and extensively.

  18. Dear All, Not many of you might be aware that there exists a gurdwara in Dubai. This gurdwara was inaugurated in January 2012 and the person who has been driving this project is called Surinder Kandhari, a prominent local businessman belonging to the Sikh diaspora. Initially, we were happy to finally have our place of worship in this country but lately a lot of heretical and anti-gurmat practices have openly started happening in the Gurdwara. The gurdwara is being run like a family owned business and in an ideal world, Mr Kandhari and his cohorts would have been summoned before Akal Takht on grounds of sacrilege but since Akal Takht is under the control of criminals and impostors, there is no point in harboring any hopes from them. I would like to draw the attention of the global sangat towards some practices which are tantamount to making a mockery of our religion: 1) Separate chairs and tables have been placed in thee langar hall and darbar hall. Whilst the idea is to provide comfortable seating for the elderly, these seats are usually occupied by the members of Hindu community who visit the gurdwara. Furthermore, these Hindus act as if they are in a restaurant while having langar. The matter has been repeatedly brought to the attention of the management who refuse to act since they do not want to upset the affluent members of Hindu community. 2) Members of Hindu community regularly show lack of respect to our religious sentiments by showing up to gurdwara in inappropriate clothing (mostly their girls) or letting their children run amok during kirtan. 3) Untrained and non Amrtidharis people are being allowed to do kirtan. It is not uncommon to see kids from influential families being allowed to perform the seva of doing kirtan on Fridays. While it is a good idea, it is definitely not good to see non-Amritdhari children without any knowledge of gurbani unable to pronounce bani correctly. Would you allow somebody to distort shabad of bani? No. But it happens here because these kids belong to affluent "donors" and management would not want to "upset" them. 4) Members of Hindu community routinely throw half-eaten food from langar in garbage bins. When the matter was brought to the attention of sevadars, they expressed their helplessness. 5)Langar hall is used as banquet hall to host wedding and engagement parties. aIt is common to see wedding and engagement ceremonies, including some ceremonies involving mixed Hindu-Sikh couples in gurdwara. During such ceremonies, the langar hall is cleared of sangat and is used as a banquet hall. Non-Sikh waiters and caterers are allowed to serve non-langar food to people. This part of guurdwara is used as a party venue and it is not uncommon to see people including non-Sikhs indulging in gluttony and gossip in gurdwara. It may be noted, that on such days the management asks the snagat to leave early since the langar hall has been "booked". 6) Known heretic, Darshan Singh Ragi was invited to perform kirtan in the gurdwara in January. I am sure everybody in the West is familiar with Darshan Ragi and his heretical rants. Furthermore, one Pakistani who claims to have the "gangasagar" of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj was also invited and he had a field day collecting "donations" from gullible Sikhs who were openly bowing to and rubbing their foreheads against the utensil. 7) Now comes the biggest blasphemy of them all. About two weeks ago, the gurdwara played host to a delegation from local Islamic centre who were invited by Mr. Kandhari to "break Ramadan fast" in gurdwara. The visiting delegation were seated on chairs and tables in the langar hall and the gurdwara management actually played adhan the mohammedan call foor prayer in the Gurdwara! Would you believe this?? All this is happening in Gurdwara in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. It is a sacrilege of the highest order to chant words of any other religion in Guru's presence and to play the Mohameddan prayer in a gurdwara extolling their god allah is the crime worth harshest punishment. Would you expect mohammedans to invite Sikhs to do nitnem in a mosque??? Furthermore, a few days before this event, Mr. Kandhari and a few of his cronies were invited to Al Manar Islamic centre where they listened to a lecture on greatness of Mohammedan religion and virtues of fasting during Ramadan. In return, Mr. Kandhari made a speech extolling the virtues of Mohammedan religion and made grovellling attempts to the audience of mohammedans that Sikhi was similar to Islamic religion and "our book" Guru Granth Sahib is similar to Koran in teachings. He also made a groveling speech thanking the local authorities for letting the langar run during Ramadhan. Lastly he committed the ultimate sacrilege by presenting a plaque to Muslims which showed the Islamic shahada and mool mantar inscribed together. How could anybody in their right minds even think of juxtaposing the bani of Akalpurkh with the writings of Moahmmedan book? Mr Kandhari committed the cardinal sin of distorting bani by trying to explain to the audience of muslims that mool mantar and sura al fateh were essentially of same essence. Of course, nothing could be further from truth than this.For all the gross sacrilege, Mr Kandhari got his five seconds of fame when one of the local newspapers published an article with his picture on its backpage. The management of the gurdwara have even boasted about this openly on their facebook page. I have posted few links to this story, so please check it out. NDP justice critic Jagmeet Singh demanded the same thing in Ontario's legislature. Rajoana belonged to the banned Babbar Khalsa terrorist group, which fought in the 1990s for the establishment of a pure Sikh nation called 'Khalistan.' The movement called for the ethnic cleansing of the Hindu minority in India's Punjab state and was responsible for the bombing of an Air India jet which slaughtered 330 mostly Hindu Canadians. An Ontario MPP should be commenting on justice issues in Ontario, not using his status to stand up for convicted terrorists in a faraway land. Hundreds of Sikh Canadians happily protest in favour of this terrorist, but when have we ever seen large numbers of these people picketing on a purely Canadian issue? Shockingly, Pardeep Nagra, manager of employment equity at the Toronto District School Board, admits to having numerous discussions with youth about 'Khalistan' and sees nothing wrong with the concept. This may explain why some second generation Sikh Canadians are becoming brainwashed into supporting a genocidal ideology which is dead in the land of its origin. And ultimately, we Canadians are responsible for the presence of not insignificant numbers of people who reside here but dream of slaughtering people overseas.
  20. It's no lie that a few thugs did kill Hindus, but the realistic numbers seem to be in the range of 500-1000 or so whereas a total of 50-100k Sikhs have disappeared during this period. Since 1947 Sikhs have never targeted a community. Anyone have any sources for accurate Hindu deaths in the period? I ask because congress and Indian lap dogs are making up bs about crazy numbers of Hindus being killed.
  21. My family were originally Hindus who had shardha in Sikhi. But they officially became Sikhs during the Singh Sabha movement.
  22. The clash and progression of titans. In the bloody struggle to gain a political precedent over the various domains of the sub-continent, in the aftermath of the mughal empire's fall, three forces came to the fore. The Marathas, the Afghanis and the Khalsa. All three were hell bent on carving extensive domains for themselves and eradicating all vestiges of any foreign state and it's subsequent polity. In this struggle the mughals were reduced to nothing more than depleted forms of their past selves, and forced to tolerate strains of vengeance and exploitation on all fronts. Whether under the Khalsa, the Marathas or the Afghanis, the mughals suffered bitter humiliation reminiscent of their parent emperor's tortures launched against their wards in past eras. Whereas the Afghanis were seen as a foreign entity vying for an Alexandrian conquest of the sub-continent, specifically Punjab; it was the Khalsa and it's contemporary Maratha entity which emerged as the home team and the potential hope of the sub-continent's sovereignty. The Maratha polity was a catalyst of it's father Shivaji's political ambition amalgamated with his subsequent humiliation at the hands of his mughal employers. He commenced his crusade in 1681 A.D. and ofught bitterly with the mughals for the succeeding 27 years. Parallel to his crusade, Guru Gobind Singh Ji manifested the Khalsa and unleashed widespread rebellion against the larger sub-continental polity, composed of various Hindu and Islamic chieftains, in the territorial domains surrounding Delhi and composing the Punjab region. Despite both the Guru and Shivaji earning numerous accolades and notable victories over their foes, they never interacted. Shivaji aimed to create a fundamental Hindu state with Hindu acting as the byword for domination, and control. The Guru aimed to strengthen the Khalsa and give it the instruction required to garner power and carve a territorial entity for itself, devoid of any non-Sikh influence. Both the Maratha and the Khalsa entity possessed views which were an essential antithesis of their parallels. Both entities, despite retaining an extensive knowledge of each other, only came in contact with each other with the success of the Maratha campaign in Delhi. The subsequent actions and operations of the Marathas soon saw an extension of their conquering precincts into Punjab, which at the time was facing an onslaught of Islamic extremism amalgamated with a political catalyst. The decisive conjuncture of the contact manifested itself during Ahmad Shah Abdali's fourth invasion of the sub-continent. Noticing the extension of the Maratha territories, and the troublesome guerrilla tactics of the Khalsa he ordered his son, Timur Shah, and general, Jahan Khan, to govern Lahore and it's surrounding precincts. An extensive number of the mughal polity's remnants submitted to their command, but a few resisted despite facing imminent eradication from their bloodthirsty foes. Adina Beg, the governor of Lahore, after taking the hasty step of defying Timur decided to call on the Khalsa for assistance. Knowing that this was a potential chance to birth and plug a power-vacuum, the Khalsa entity readily agreed and started the arduous march towards Lahore. Adina Beg however had second thoughts and it was not long before he dispatched a request for aide to the Maratha chiefs in Delhi, who in a parallel fashion to the Khalsa commenced their arduous march towards Lahore. Raghunath Rao, the foremost Maratha chieftain and a subtle politician in his own right, readily agreed on the condition that Adina Beg pay him 100,000 rupees for each day's march and 50,000 for every subsequent halt. Adina in a bid to preserve his won skin eschewed his bitterness at such an extensive demand, and readily agreed to pay. On 8th March 1758 A.D. Raghunath and his forces finally arrived at Sirhind, where he joined the Adina-Khalsa coalition. Sirhind was besieged and it's doors soon fell prey to the Khalsa-Adina-Maratha forces which indulged in widespread loot of it's treasury. In the aftermath disparities soon became evident, the Khalsa which would have sacked Sirhind with a coalition or without demanded an extensive share of the loot due to it's geographical knowledge. Raghunath and his forces, enlivened and emboldened by Adina's pay, demanded a greater share of the loot whereas Adina's own troops expressed mutinous tendencies at the evident reduction of their own share. Knowing that a clash of steel was evident due to the bitter rivalries plaguing the coalition Adina defined a new precedent for the triple alliance. The Khalsa would remain two paces ahead of it's partners. This availing of inter-coalition frictions soon saw Adina's joint entity besiege Lahore and subsequently enter it on 20th April 1758 A.D. Timur and his contemporaries had fled the region. Raghunath struck a subtle blow at the heart of the Khalsa ambitions when he appointed Adina as governor of Lahore and after discarding his Khalsa allies, extended the Maratha domains onto the precincts of Afghanistan itself. The subsequent alienation of his potential allies, the Khalsa, the Jatts and the Rajputs, soon saw him stratify himself into a corner. A situation exploited by Abdali who annihilated the Maratha influence in Punjab in 1759 A.D. The subsequent power vacuum which became evident was readily filled by the de-facto master of Punjab. The Khalsa. The Marathas dispatched various orders for assistance to their subjects but were readily refused, their alienating policies ultimately struck back at their bosom until only a few Jatt chieftains agreed to assist them out of empathy. For a year the Maratha forces danced ahead of Abdali who readily followed them until in 1761 A.D. at Panipat, he annihilated an army of 60,000 pitched Maratha warriors and their subsequent families. This parallel bloodbath was a blessing to the Khalsa, who readily exploited it and reversed the Maratha influence until ultimately it possessed Punjab and campaigned up to and into Delhi. Five years later, the remnant Maratha vestiges once more came into contact with the now dominant Khalsa. This time they were invited by Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur, the Jat monarch, to birth a coalition which would aim to annihilate Najib Ud'Dula, his father's murderer and one of the influential Ruhlia chieftains. A 15,000 strong Khalsa legion, under the command of Sardar Jassa Singh Alhuwalia easily erased the Ruhlia forces from the battleground, yet it was a bitter victory for Jawahar Singh who was soundly betrayed by Malhar Rao; the Maratha general. Rao and various Jatt chieftains negotiated a subtle treaty forcing Jawahar Singh to accept Najib Ud'Dula's influence over him. Such a decisive maneuver however inflamed Jawahar against the Maratha polity, and after a minimum conjuncture, he took 8,000 Khalsa warriors into his pay to crush the traitorous Marathas. Not only had they stalled his desire for vengeance they had also birthed a blood feud by announcing his rival sibling, Nahar Singh, as the rightful monarch of Bharatpur. A year later, at the head of his Khalsa battalion, Jawahar Singh succeeded in ousting the Maratha-cum-Nahar coalition from Dholpur and occupied it as an extension of His Bharatpur domains. In the aftermath he led his battalion to aide the Jatt prince of Gohad against a Maratha legion, an action which catalyzed in the Khalsa extensively raiding Maratha domains in central India. The dawning of 1768 A.D. saw widespread hostility which catalyzed in the assassination of Jawahar Singh and his heir Ratan Singh, the subsequent year. Their remaining heirs Ranjit Singh and Naval Singh soon birthed a bloody civil war, and battle lines were drawn once more. Ranjit Singh approached the Khalsa chieftains for aide whereas Naval summoned the Marathas, who were eager to visit vengeance upon their Khalsa foes. Twenty-fourth February 1770 A.D. saw the commencement of a bloody engagement in which the Maratha's famed cavalry clashed with the Khalsa forces. Despite the victory of Naval Singh, the Maratha cavalry was heavily mauled and was never able to garner the prominence it once held. Subsequently the Khalsa forces retreated to Punjab, safe with the knowledge that the Marathas would not mount any attack against them. 1771 A.D. saw the reassertion of Maratha dominance over an extensive portion of the sub-continent, exclusive of Punjab, and the rise of Mahadji Scindia as paramount chieftain of the Maratha entity. The following year the exiled mughal monarch was restated in his place and Mahadji entrusted with the mission of returning peace to the sub-continental domains. A ruthless exploiter Mahadji pulled his employer's strings from the commencement of his mission and settled his eyes on the Khalsa territories. Under it's various chieftains the Khalsa had been involved in the extensive plunder of the various tributaries which symbiotically supported the mughal coffers. As a result of the raids, the economic stability of the mughal entity had fallen into disarray and even the Marathas were forced to conclude that finance was a paramount issue. As a result Scindia deputed various ambassadors to parlay with the Khalsa confederacies and negotiate a peace-treaty, which would prevent them from launching their decisive raids even on Delhi itself. On the other front he gained the allegiance of Samru Begum, who possessed the sub-continent's finest artillery. The catalyst of these political brokering resulted in a joint treaty being signed on 9th May 1785 A.D. which granted the Khalsa one million rupees, on the behest of the Marathas, in exchange for the Khalsa's surrendering of the Yamuna and Gang tributaries.
