  1. Is there any difference between a taksali gutka and any other ones like budha dal gutkas? I used to use mysikhi app to do nitnem and read gurbani, but recently i downloaded the damdami taksal sunder gutka app.
  2. Maharani Jind Kaurs personal Gutka Sahib is in the British library, most likely stacked like any other book. Its beadbi disrespect. They shipped countless things from Punjab to London once they took over Punjab. Makes you wonder how many other Guru Granth sahibs, Gutkas sahibs, shastars they have stacked on selves gathering dust. its just wrong. Every now and then a object from the Sikh empire pops up out of the blue at British auctions and sells for £1000s they are still making money of these things decades after the empire left India. Imagine them flogging something like this at auction? if they have some decency then things of religious importance and value should be returned. The website says " This Sikh manuscript was the personal prayer book of the Maharani. It was prepared between 1828 and 1830 for Rani Jindan Kaur (c.1817–63), a younger wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780–1839) and mother of Dalip Singh (reg.1843–49). It consists of three compositions from the Guru Granth Sahib: Guru Nanak's Sidh Gosti, followed by Bavan Akhari and Sukhmani by Guru Arjan (1563–1606). Since the 'Adi Granth' is so large, it was usual to make manuscript selections for private devotion. Each hymn begins with a full-page coloured illustration, and is beautifully written in Gurmukhi with white letters and embellishments on a black background. The opening shown here (digitised image 1) is the beginning of Guru Nanak's Sidh Gosti. The illustration depicts Guru Nanak as a young man, disputing with the Sidhs. In the second image displayed here illustrates Guru Nanak with Mardana and Bala. Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the 10 Sikh Gurus. Their teachings are compiled in the Adi Granth or the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism and the final Sikh Guru. It is always placed in the centre of the Gurdwara (place of worship), on a raised platform, and is treated with the greatest respect by all Sikhs"

    Making own gutka

Hey guys. I am going to make my own gutka, they will both be hand written and 2 of them will be in larivaar and the other 2 will not. The banis im going to put is Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav Prasad Sveyai, (there are 2 im gonna put both of them), Chaupi Sahib (Taskal one as I consider that to be the absolute minimum someone should do), Anand Sahib, Rehras Sahib, Aartiee, Rakyea Je De Shabad, (don't know how to spell that), Kirtan Sohila, Brahm Kavach, Shaster Naam Mala, Shabad Hazare (both Guru Arjan Dev jis and Guru Gobind Singh jis ) (might do Chandi di vaar or make another dasam granth bani specific gutka), Asa di vaar, lots of shabads, like gurdev mata gurdev pita, etc and the last 20 pages specific pages will be full of SATNAM WAHEGURU. The start will be 20 pages of MOOL MANTAR and Ardas as well. I will make a seperate gutka for sukhmani sahib, (or if I can still put it in the gutka then I will do so but, hopefully not) and if I do make a new gutka for Sukhmani Sahib, I will put, Chandi Di Vaar, Dakhni Onkaar, Akal Ustad, lots and lots of shabads, and then last 100 pages full of waheguru. I just have 3 problems, first I do not know if there is a specific way in which you write gurbani, second how will I be able to bind the Bani and make sure that It looks likes a normal gukta, I want the cover to look like gold, the only thing on the front will be SUNDAR GUTKA and the only thing which will not be gurbani is the contents and introduction (I can take introduction but not sure about contents), my name will NOT be on it (which is what most people which make gutka do these days )and no one will know who made it, I hope to take around 6 months to complete it (I want it to be perfect). Also where will I find the correct gurbani spellings, I will check this with many sites to check if its correct. There will also be things which will help tell if you are supposed to say S or SH, and J or Z, like it its supposed to be SH then the sassa will have more space betwen it (e.g ਜਾਸ, this is normal and s will be said but if its ਜਾ ਸ it will be sh, (the lines not connecting but you get the idea.) or if you know a better way tell me) https://www.google.co.nz/search?client=ms-android-samsung&biw=360&bih=310&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=QRNjWry9OoiV8wW584_ADQ&q=gutka+sikh+&oq=gutka+sikh+&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3..41.3123.5622.0.6322.10.7.0.0.0.0.883.3534.3-3j1j2j1.7.0....0...1c.1.64.mobile-gws-img..7.3.2116....0.3Tub-YdZ8Qs#imgrc=6gJ_3VaZJ0LlBM:&isa=y This is how tall I am aiming for. What do you guys think?

  9. Waheguru Here is a Taksali Gutka of Damdami Taksal which Purtan Singhs used. Baba Mohan Singh Bindranwale expliens Shudh Ucharan on hard words. Baba Ji at the end of the Gutka comments on how Chaupai Sahib was cut short and who did it and Baba Gurbachan Singh's thought on it too. The end part of the Gutka is worth reading it also expliens which doras were cut out and Baba Ji shows from Purtan Granths that these doras were in the Nitnem. 10. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh, Dear Sadh Sangat Ji, Thanks for helping me with my last gupt post....( Help! My Life, Naam Kamai And Gur Sikhi Prachar ) With the Grace of Guru Sahib ji , i have decided to do SEVA and help SIKHS living in Remote Areas of Rajasthan (Pakistan Border Area) India and SIKHS living along with Ghaghar River.... !!! PLEASE POST YOUR SUGGETION, COMMENTS about this Project !!! We will need Support and Fundraising help from Sikh Sangat. The Ghaghar River flows through Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar District towards Pakistan. This river is named Ghaghar River because it was use to flow like A women wearing Skirt doing Whirly dance. Water spins very fast due to whirly effect and it starts cutting the soil/ shores and many kilometres long land will suddenly get sunk into river water. Story of this Area : It is said that one day Dasven Patshah Dhan Dhan Sti Guru Gobind Singh ji was going through this area with his Sikhs. Guru ji and sikhs started to cross the Ghaghar river in Bedis and 40 Sikhs of Guru ji stuck in the Ghumangheri (swirling water), sunk, and died. This happened between two places known as Malla Tibba and Jhanda Tibba. Guru ji then gave Shrap to the Ghaghar river that - O River You will Dry one day, my Sikhs will come here, they will Rip your chest and they will do khethi ( farming) on your chest. River asked in reply Sachhe patshah when i will flow again. Guru ji said you will flow very occasionally. Since after that many Sikhs settled in this area and started doing farming Inside and along the river. I was born and grown in this area. I have seen countless number of farms ( even many villages) are actually inside the river flow area ( or between both shores of the river) When heavy rain comes in Punjab , they put excessive water into Ghaghar river ( it happens 2-3 times in every 5-7 years) and it supplies minerals and water for farming properties in the river. This area is Mini Punjab of Rajasthan. Coz it gives a big amount of crops (Wheat, Cotton, Mustard, Pulses, etc.), fruits like orange, sugar cans and other things to Whole Rajasthan. Sadly - There is NO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT to this area, no facilities, not very good hospitals, not good education, bad roads, even not enough volume of water is supplied trough Farming Canals due to Politics of Rajasthan government. This area is self developed by local people. When farmers put their seeds in their fields, government cuts down the water supply form many days to months. About Sikhs living in the Area and common issues: Most Sikhs are farmer. There is no Gur Sikhi Prachar in the Area, Most Sikhs have forgotten their real Values and going on the path of Patit Puna. Don’t ask about Young Generation. There is Theka (bottle shop) in every small village. But this area is far away from big intoxications / drugs. Killing of Unborn Daughters in Sikh Families is very common in this area. Rude culture / DAWRY system - Grooms Family asking for Meat, Chickens, Branded Wines, Car/Motorbikes, Cash and arrangements of Female Dancers is very common. Needs: There is a big need of Gur Sikhi Prachar and to develop personal links with Sikhs in the area. There is a big demand for a good Hospital. Closet good hospital with emergency facilities PMB (prince bijaysingh memorial) hospital, Bikaner. Which is 163kms away from Gharsana, 186kms from Anupgarh. 11. Sangat Jee, I have been looking through some apps on my android tablet and phone etc which you can search Gurbani which claims to have indexed sources such as Amrit Keertan pothi on it etc. However I have come across a particular shabad which has put some doubts on the internets authenticity. I'm going to use 1 particular shabad as an example and also understand it could just be an exceptional anomaly. The shabad is : Har Sachae Takth Rachhaeaa Sath Sangat Melaa I have an Amrit Keertan pothi from around 40 years ago and this pothi itself has been used by Puraatan Gursikhs. Now line 3 and 6 in the Pothi are as follows : 3 : Gur Simar Manaee Kalkaa Khandae Kee Velaa 6 : Gur Sangat Kenee Khalsaa Manumukhee Duhelaa however on other internet sources and the Amrit Keertan android app also searchgurbani.com it is different and possibly incorrect (I say this because this shabad is from Bhai Gurdas Jee's vaaran and could potentially have 2 different versions) 3: Gur Daas Manaee Kalkaa Khandae Kee Velaa 6 : Sangat Kenee Khalsaa Manumukhee Duhelaa Is there any learned Gursikh here who can clear my doubt and whether I should scrap using these apps etc and just stick to the Gutka Sahib? I use it for Keertan purposes and don't want to be reading the wrong shabad.
