  1. VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, a thought popped into my head and I wanted to clear this up. Jagraj Phaji said in one of his videos (I've also heard this from many other places) that when you are blessed with Amrit, your book of karma is completely ripped to shreds and you restart with a fresh, new book. I've also read from Bhai Randhir Singh and Baba Harnam Singh that without Amrit you cannot advance spiritually to experience naam and bani. From this I can take that the one who is blessed with Amrit, no longer has any sins to their name and can experience naam and bani better than others. Now the reason that we can't experience Vaheguru Ji is because we have so many lives of sins and maehl (dirt) that need to be washed with naam and bani. However, if you are freshly blessed with Amrit you no longer have any sins and so my questions from this are: 1) If someone has just been blessed with Amrit and then goes home to do simran, will they directly experience Vaheguru Ji and naam as they no longer have any dirt to wash away to experience naam? 2) Is there anyone who is now Amritdhari that has noticed a substantial difference in experiencing naam after being blessed with Amrit, in comparison to before? 3) How do sins work with someone who is Amritdhari? Do they gain maehl which they have to wash at the same level as anyone who is not Amritdhari or does it affect them less because they have Amrit within them? I understand these are fairly deep questions but there is no-one more knowledgeable than Vaheguru Ji's saadhsangat. Vaheguru Ji.
  2. So Meghan Markle (the fiancee of Prince Harry) will be baptized into the Church of England in accordance with UK law and the wish of the Queen. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5126203/Meghan-baptised-Church-England.html My question is: what about Sikhs getting baptized (initiated/taking Amrit) before marriage in accordance with the laws of Sachi Sarkar and the wish of the Sacha Patshah (Guru Gobind Singh ji)? OK, forget that, forget Amrit, how about just acknowledging that you (and your fiancee) are a Sikh and believe in the 10 Gurus and Guru Granth Sahib? No amrit, no rehit, just a basic acknowledgement of the faith? Why is the word of the Sacha Patshah less important than that of a worldly king or queen?
  3. Is there any upcoming Amrit Sanchaar's in the UK? Please let me know if there is any (esp on Weekend)
  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! There has been a recent trend I have seen among younger Sikhs who state that Khand Di Phaul is only for those who want to join the Khalsa Army, and something that not all Sikhs should strive for. They given examples of Bhai Kaneya Ji and Bhai Nanad Lal to further their argument, but forget that both Sikhs did receive Amrit in the form of charan amrit becuase they lived pre-1699. Of Course there is only ONE Amrit, and it comes from Bani, but shouldn't a Sikh who has already given their head spiritually also have no problem give it temporally through the Khand Di Phaul ceremony as well? I think a part of this fallacy stems from a misunderstanding of what exactly Khand Di Phaul is. In 1699, the Guru didnt ask for those who want to join the army, or wear the 5Ks, it was allways to ask for a HEAD. Thus, any true Sikh who would give up their own head, would have no problem receiving Khand Di Phaul. What do you think? Should Sikhs stive for Khand Di Phaul? or is practicing the saintly aspect of Sikhi enough?
  5. VJKK VJKF I have some burning questions: What happens if you have kept your amrit and you die? Where do you go after death? Do you have an eternal "afterlife"? VJKK VJKF
  6. VJKK VJKF For those who have taken amrit, what age would you recommend taking amrit and what age did you take amrit? For people who are yearning to take amrit please feel free to share any problems etc. I really want to take amrit and I get emotional whilst listening to kirtan, because my parents aren't allowing me take amrit yet. I feel this ultimate desire inside me to not want to waste my life and take amrit. No-one understands this feeling, I start to get restless because amrit and Vaheguru are all I want in this life. I feel like I am ready to give my head to the Guru. The only thing stopping me is my parents because they say: "You are only 13, you don't know if your mind will change". I say reply back saying: "I will never change my mind, now that I have held onto the charan of Vaheguru I never want to let go." I love Vaheguru so much and I will do anything to join back with Him. It will be a big step for me because I am the eldest child and I will be the first one to take amrit. My 2 younger brothers also want to take amrit but quite late in life. I don't know why I feel this constant urge for amrit. I need amrit in my life and with Maharaaj's Kirpa it will be in a couple of years time. VJKK VJKF
  7. I have been having immense love for my Guru Ji and I just want to think about the Universe and do seva all day today. Love you all you guys. Stay connected with sat sangat.
  8. VJKK VJKF I wish to take amrit when I am perhaps 18/19 but since I am still in secondary school and not allowed to wear a kirpan (in school) I am not entirely sure when I should take amrit. No-one else in my family has taken amrit and I am the eldest child? Please can I have some guidance? VJKK VJKF

    Uk Amrit Sanchar

Can anyone tell me when the next UK amrit sanchar is please. Thanks
  14. WJKK WJKF. There are many maryada's out there, such as the AKJ. However, I don't know which one is the right maryada and it get's a bit confusing. Some people say to do nitnem and others read bani. Which one is right? Is there like a link on where to get started? Thank you pyaare sangat ji!
  15. double posted accidentally please refer to this thread:
  16. So as I am preparing to take amrit I will also start to wear a bana. Do I need to take amrit first? I don't want to start any arguments with anyone.
  17. According to Akal Takhat Maryada they give right to women that women can also amrit pahul.
  18. Thakur Dalip Namdhari did Amrit Sanchar (Baptise) by Amritdhari women to flourish amritdhari community. is it wrong or right ? Yesterday Akal Takht Sahib has announced that they will conduct meeting of 5 jathedhars on 5th May against women empowerment step taken by namdhari head Thakur Dalip Singh, Thakur Dalip Singh has given rights of Amrit Chhakauna ( Baptise ) to Sikh Women. Thakur Dalip has taken step by authorizing amritdhari women to give amrit (Baptise) others for the seek of practical equality of women in Sikhs religion. He said according to gurbani and Sikh philosophy women are equal. If women can take Amrit then after being amridhari women why they cannot give amrit to others. His aim is to baptise more and more women. To achieve this goal he says women are influenced more by women than men. Therefore we should authorized women also to baptise (distribute Amrit). Now some people objected openly and started propaganda against this step of women authorization of distributing Amrit (baptising). They have approached Akal Takht sahib against this women empowerment. Now I request all you learnt people to give your views to clarify this point. Has Dalip Singh committed sin by authorizing women to give Amrit to others? or he has done a good deed by authorizing women. For information of all readers Sikh rehat maryada published by Sharomani committee approved by Akal Takhat sahib on page 20. It is clearly written that women can give Amrit (Baptise).
  19. I did post this yesterday however I am not sure whether it didn’t come through or the admins thought it was a joke or someone being silly and did not allow it. However I can assure you that albeit it sounds quite silly and quite yucky I am genuine asking this question to the cyber sangat for advise as I don’t know whether this scenario requires to be brought for peshi or not. There is two parts to this: I know this sounds silly and a little yucky but I tend to pick my nose regular as I get a build up (possibly because I have a lot of nostril hair) and many times when I pick my nose some nostril hair gets picked out with it. Is this wrong? Should I be more careful? Are there other amritdharis in my situation? Also I now have a regular tendency of keeping scraping my finger in the side of my nostril and feeling the long hairs inside the nostril and slowly keep doing this and this many times this ends up pulling out the nostril hair. Its become a habit whilst I’m watching a program; previously I used to twirl my moustache when watching a program however now I am doing this. I end up feeling bad. I don’t know whether sub-consciously I am aware of what I am doing, part of me thinks I do, part of me thinks this has become such a bad habit its become second nature. Do you think I need to go pesh? I am really confused but its really playing on my mind. I know the above may sound really silly and most probably laughable to some but I genuinely need some advice on this issue. Thank you.
  20. You may find this strange and a little funny but just wanted some genuine guidance from mature cyber sangat. I at times pick my nose (I know sorry for yucky detail) and withit my nose hairs get pulled out - is this seen wrong for an amritdhari? Should I be more careful? What do others do or feel about this situation. My main issue is that before as a habit whilst watching something I would twearl my moustache, however for sometime I have been keep putting my finger in my nose and scraping the side of the nostril and thinking to pick my nose which then turns to feeling the long hairs inside my nostril and keep doing this and which at times end up the nostril hair gets pulled out. It's become a habit and now It would seem part of my sub conscience knows what I'm doing but it's like second nature and a habit that I forget I'm doing this. Do I need to go pesh for this, it has confused me, is nostril hair also included? thanks

    Pesh

Are there any Amrit Sanchars anywhere in England this year? I need to go Pesh and I hoping it will be a Taksali Jathedbandi (preferance due tomy Maryada). I know there one in May at Birmingham but I cant get time off work. Anyone also know when Baba Gurbachan Singh's barsi this year?
  22. Wjkk wjkf , i know that there is an amritsanchar in surrey on Sunday but someone said there's also one on July 21. Is this correct wjkk wjkf
  23. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh Jee, Could someone find the meaning of Sanchar? As in Amrit Sanchar. Dhanwaad Jee
  24. We have all heard of stories of a sparrow drinking a few drops of amrit from the baata on Anandpur sahib , circa. 1699 vaisakhi, and then it fought and wounded a mighty eagle ! This led to saying "Chiddiya te main baaj ladaava, tabe Gobind Singh naam kahava" And the general consensus among sikhs is that it was amrit who transformed coward donkeys to brave soldiers ! So , if amrit is so powerful , and if I take it, it should work on me as well, no ?, considering I am so coward, an emaciated stray dog could put me to a run .
  25. Does Baba Mohan Singh jee (old taksali mahapurash) arrange Amrit Sinchaars in India?
