  1. What skills/ knowledge should one have before taking Amrit? More in terms of daily responsibilities, respect of gurus saroop, how different programs and paath take place and are organised at gurudwara. What should every Sikh know?
  2. Wjkk Wjkf sangat jio I am posting this in spite of immediate help from sangat. I am adult male in my mid 30's and took Amrit in 2013 in India. I moved to Canada in 2017 and have been living here since then, I wanted to tell you that I did a Bajar kurehat (par istri) in peer pressure . Since then my life have been totally upside down. I lost my job, my car got stolen, I m having issues with getting permanent job, my family is facing financial challenges, all this started after that mistake. I m currently in dire need to get Pesh to Panj Pyare, but due to Covid-19 there are no Amrit Sanchars being organized. I really need your help, if i can get pesh to panj singhs over video-conference or any method by which i can get my mistakes washed away i daily do ardass for khima from Guru Sahib, but since i have done things against the hukam of Panj Pyare, I would have to get my bhul baksha in front of them. Please you can emaIl me for any suggestion loveleen0811@gmail.com i would ne waiting for further update from you

    Amrit Sanchar UK 2020

Please can someone tell me if there is any Amrit Sanchar in the UK? I need to go pesh. Please I don't want to die without going pesh?
  4. the first time I took Amrit, I was 5 years old. After plenty of mistakes and growing I had taken it again at the age of 12 from pressure (not all of it was bad but some auntiyan were really urging me to just do it even though my family was warning me of all my responsibilities) and just pure desire to want it. It was at a camp and they really motivate you well. I kept it up for a while and ended up doing many wrongful things afterwards. I’ve plucked my eyebrows because I started getting insecure and ashamed, and just some of my facial hair in general after I got judgemental comments even from my own mother who is Amritdhari, I’ve removed a small amount from legs a couple times where my leg was exposed, once even because I childishly wanted to see what a razor feels like (not sure if this was before or after I took it again). But I’ve had my fair share of mess ups. I kissed a boy and once he took Amrit we never did again and are on a better path now where we don’t even see each other in real life. I feel like I have to confess to that and I’m not sure how. The worst one for me is confession removing pubic hair a few times for comfort purposes especially during period a few times. I just can’t find any way to do that so simply. I know I have to confess everything I can remember because if I don’t then I will be punished after I leave this world so I might as confess now and take the tankha especially because I do very much feel guilty for it all. I don’t know what I was thinking. But I’m terrified of how to say all this. Like wording-wise and just bringing it up in general.

Can one guru pyaara please tell me the baniyan they read to prepare khande ki pahul? also why don’t all the Amrit sanchars follow one maryada? Where did the sudden differences come from when preparing Amrit? Thanks

  12. There is a petition initiated in which women will begin the " Amrit Sanchar". We must support this petition and women should get their rights because our Sikh religion is the great and foremost, it doesn't believes in caste system, then why there is a discrimination between men and women. Instead, Guru Nanak Dev Ji has given the highest status to the women, this is why, we need to support this petition. https://www.change.org/p/jathedar-sri-akal-takht-sahib-ji-empowering-sikh-women-to-administer-amrit-sanchar
  13. Hi Guys I am a New Zealander who have been living in Delhi for the past 8 years since I married A Punjabi Sikh woman whom I met at the University of Auckland. Her family is composed of my wife our son, her brother, his wife and two sons, and parents and all of us live in the same house. Until 6 years ago, none were very religious and all of them cut their hair and none of them wore turbans. The first transformation came when my Mother-in-law started wearing the 5 k's and doing daily nitnam, She eventually convinced my father-in-law to get baptised and now he wears a turban. .Then shortly after my brother-in-law and his wife and two sons got baptised with all four of them wearing Sikh Saroop.Sensing a shift in the household my wife suggested that I would refrain from cutting my hair and some drinking alcohol so I don't offend the current religous atmosphere in the house. Last year my wife got baptised and our 4 year old son now wears a patka. Instead of resisting I decided to join the entire family for daily Nitnam everyday, Since I stop cutting my hair two years ago and have shoulder length hair long enough to form a bun I desided to take the plunge and wear a dastar for the first time in my life last month. After one month of wearing the dastar everday I got baptised at the Gurdwara SIS Ganj Sahib two days ago.

Do you think that if a non-Sikh committed a crime such as desecrating the guru granth sahib and is truely sorry for what he did, he should be offered forgiveness on the condition that he undergo Amrit Sanchar?

    Taking Amrit

WJKK WJKF I am 24 years old I am living with my parents and the parents are not very religious people. I have been wearing all my 5k's for sometime now, but my parents won't let me take amrit, yet I am already wearing all the kakars (including kirpan). I don't want to disrespect my parents but I am not sure what to do... Even if I take the amrit how will they know as I am already wearing my kakars? They said just keep doing what you are doing but don't take amrit... Should I just take amrit as we are having a sanchar in my area soon, or should I wait? I feel like guru ji is holding my hand but my parents want me to break that tie to the guru... Kalyug! Thank you for any help!
